I've been coming to this salon for a while now and have consistently seen the same nail technician…read more I recently made an appointment for a Saturday, only to be told when I arrived that they apparently do not honor appointments with specific technicians on Fridays, Saturdays snd Sundays because they're too busy(which they weren't) and wanted to place me with whoever was available. As a regular customer, I found this very frustrating. If I make an appointment with a particular technician, I expect that appointment to be honored. I choose who I want to do my nails, and I'm choosing to spend my money at this business and at the day and time that is convenient for me! I ultimately had to wait until my regular technician was available. Then, after all of that, I was charged $75 for my rebase instead of the $70 I have consistently paid. I was told the additional $5 was because of the length of my nails, even though I've had essentially the same nail length(they're not long) and have been charged $70 even when they were longer. Their pricing is already considerably higher than other salons, where a comparable rebase is around $50. I was willing to pay more because I liked my technician Mia. After regularly supporting this business, I expected much better communication, consistency, and customer service. Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider whether I want to continue coming here.

Since I had seen their Yelp photos and thought they looked like the best salon in town, I decided to wait. I ended up waiting nearly two hours before I was finally seen. When it was my turn, I showed the guy the design I wanted. It really wasn't anything elaborate--just some stripes and polka dots but it was like 7 different colors I guess.. No gems, rhinestones, or anything I would consider overly detailed. Instead of discussing pricing upfront, I waited almost two hours only to be told that the design would cost $120. I was honestly shocked. If I had known that before waiting, I would have gone somewhere else. BUT, I couldn't because I was leaving for my trip the next morning, and every other salon was closed. When I questioned the price, I was simply told that because of the colors and designs, it would be $120. I was so overwhelmed and stressed about my trip that I started crying in the chair. Since I had no other option, I settled for a much simpler design that was incrediblyyyyy basic. Even then, I was still charged $80. To make things worse, the quality of the work did not justify the price at all. The nails were uneven, lumpy, and poorly finished. I spent the ENTIRE appointment crying, from the moment I sat down until I left. I wasn't even planning to leave a negative review because I felt bad for hardworking people and wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. However, LESS than 24 HOURS later, while I was on my trip in Europe, one of the nails broke. Shortly after, a second one broke as well. At that point, I hadn't done anything that would reasonably explain it. I had simply packed my suitcase, gone to the airport, and taken a flight. I had to spend DAYS of my vacation walking around with bandages holding the nails in place while I searched for nail glue (which I guess doesn't exist in Europe lol). I couldn't find any, so I eventually had to buy super glue just to keep the nails attached for the rest of my trip. Between the nearly two-hour wait, not being told the price until it was finally my turn, paying $80 for a very basic set with poor workmanship, and having multiple nails break within 24 hours, this was EASILY the worst nail salon experience I've ever had. also if you're reading this far id also like to mention that, throughout the appointment, the tech repeatedly complained about how late it was getting and how long the appointment was taking. That really upset me because I had asked before waiting if they could still take me, and I was told yes. I then waited nearly two hours. If it was going to be an inconvenience or if there wasn't enough time to do the service properly, I wish they had simply told me from the beginning instead of having me wait for hours only to make me feel like i was the problem.

I was so appreciative of her flexibility. She greeted me with a smile and was so nice the entire appointment. She never rushed or seemed irritated that it was so close to closing time. She told me about what trends she's seeing in nails right now and what the young girls are requesting. She seemed spot on with what I've been seeing online, so if you want someone up to date on the latest nail trends, she's your girl. I wish I had gotten her name, but I suspect she's one of the owners since she was the last one there at closing. She did a good job on my nails and they ended up lasting three weeks, which is typically the longest I can go without getting back into a salon. I don't live very close by, but if I'm in there area again, I'd love to go back and give them my business! If you need your nails done in the golden area, definitely give this spot a shot!
