I take suggestions from my dog park friends and got tables put in and a mud puddle that needed taken care of and got that taken care of and grass on tube and new sign and water and pools in summer. So I advocate for the dog park to make it a great place for dogs, and people been going to Hazelia dog park for a long time. My dog Lola has a great time playing fetch with her ball. I've picked up poo bags people left threw them away and pick up all the balls and put them back in bucket and fill water bowls for the dogs. Winter now I bring a pool for my dog Lola because she runs and gets hot with all her hair but I rinse out pool and take pool home with me everytime I leave the park since I purchased the pools from ace hardware. The only things that bug me about this park are the H.S students parking in round about by small dog park and they are fully capable able bodied students to walk to other parking lot but I have walking challenges yes there's handi cap but its a distance to walk. Why have a high school where students can't park there. The balls end up in pine tree and I have to fight with tree. I lost one of my balls in the pine tree it eats balls. Plus when the balls go over fence and then can't get them I physically cannot get over fence. People leaving poo bags on ground or on fence or on the trash can instead of throwing them away.

Hondo is one of the better dog parks in Hillsboro, however there are rules, and they should be followed. For example: 1) This is a DOG park, not a people park, this will be clarified... 2) No food or drink (people or puppy) is to enter the park. This will prevent dogs from jumping on you. 3) Children (strollers etc) are not allowed. Nobody wants a dog to knock a stroller over (I have seen it happen). 4) When entering and exiting dog park, please allow dogs (and owners) to completely enter/exit and totally lock area before continuing. These are very basic rules but following them makes a good dog park even better.

Works out great to keep the playful dogs together and to keep the shy dogs separated as well. There is plenty of room for your four legged friends. There is water available, although it is shut off currently for the winter. The large dog area is LARGE and open. There is a fire hydrant, some trees, a few picnic tables, and lots of grass. The small dog area has a picnic table, a few trees and plenty of grass for the tiny furry friends. Both areas are fully fenced so there are no gaps/holes in which you would need to worry about unless your furry friend is a digger. There are usually always plenty of friendly dogs to socialize with and as mentioned plenty of room if your dog just likes to smell the flowers. I thoroughly enjoyed living close to this park while I was living in Wilsonville. It does get a little muddy where the tracks have worn down some of the grass but other than that not really any other concerns.

What a beautiful city park with views of the surrounding area. I've always been impressed by the…read morecity parks in neighboring Tualatin and Wilsonville, but Sherwood has got it going on too. Located at the top of Sunset Boulevard, this park has a very well maintained baseball field, lacrosse/soccer field with artificial turf and electronic scoreboard, tennis and basketball courts and multiple play structures. The water feature is set up like a stream, rather than a spray ground, and really the entire park was very well designed to provide a little bit of everything for the community. As a venue for watching a game, I loved the gentle slope that provided plenty of seating for parents to either set up chairs or blankets on different levels. Even though it all looks very modern, the park has a nice amount of mature trees to provide shade and a large covered structure for parties and gatherings that is essential for events 10 months out of the year. They even had a concession stand running during our visit so you could buy food and have a picnic. I kind of hope we have more games out in Sherwood.

If I lived a lot closer, I will definitely come here regularly just for a nice fresh air walk. Starting to hike near the bathrooms, there was a couple steep section so I would recommend not wearing sandals like I did and something a little more comfortable just in case.
