I stopped by here with my pug and we had a great time. He's a small dog and I sometimes worry about mixing him with bigger dogs. There were a few dogs who were a bit out of control but fortunately they left soon after I got there so it wasn't so bad. The people in the park were polite and friendly and it was nice to give my little guy some time to play with new dogs in a new town since we were visiting from Seattle. This park has a nice mix of wood chipped areas and cement which I liked. The cement sidewalks are always good to keep the nails trimmed. There are some shady places for those hot or rainy days for people and pets. I like that they had the covered area with benches so we could sit if we wanted. A lot of dog parks don't offer that. There are some obstacles and things for larger dogs to climb on. There was a good supply of bags available and water bowls. It's not a very large park at all but it is a good place for dogs to mix and play. I liked it and thought it was a good size to keep my eye on my little man. When I go back to visit friends I will bring my dog with me again and bring him here. He had a good time and it was nice. I have been here twice, once in the summer and once in the winter. read more

This is an excellent dog park. Even though the Tualatin dog park is closer for me, I end up going to and enjoying this park more. People stream in here at all hours thanks to the covered area for owners to take shelter from the sun or rain and a treeline for shade in the afternoon. It's clean, parking is plentiful and nearby, and there are lots of friendly dogs for mine to play with. There's also always plenty of water available with the convenient doggie drinking station. I am certainly impressed by the work the City of Tigard did and hope other nearby parks can follow suit. read more

We really liked this park! It is one area for all sized dogs with all the amenities that one needs. (We went dog park hopping this weekend and all three of us, two humans & one dog, liked this one the best out of the five we went to this weekend.) Ash Street Dog Park has: 5 foot fences! a nice double gate with high end hardware suitable for a dog park, a high end water fountain for 1.) filling buckets, 2.) dispensing water to dogs (button pushed that fills a basin), 3.) a drinking fountain for children and 4.) for adults. There are three new benches embedded into cement (one area is covered with a high end gazebo style roof), perfect walk on bark, easy parking, trash cans - SHADE! It has pretty much everything. It has signs all over stating to leash up in the appropriate area (inside the first gate, but not yet into the park or the street), signs to pick up dog waste The only thing I do not necessarily like is that it is one mixed area (small and large dogs). It is small for those who want lots of room....but, those people can go one mile away to Potso Dog Park! Good job Tigard. No mud, plenty of shade, in PERFECT shape....love it! read more

Why do people feel the need to bring aggressive dogs to a dog park and then sit there watching while their dog intimidates and ultimately injures other dogs? A huge pit-mix kept jumping on me while the owner watched, so I lifted my knee and said no to keep the dog from knocking me down. The guy didn't seem to like it, but he didn't care to teach his dog any manners. That was my experience. If you have a timid or small dog, it's better to go elsewhere. As someone mentioned, the fence is too gapped to hold small dogs, and the slats in the benches are dangerous for their legs. Piles of crap everywhere. Three stars for the city of Tigard for providing such a nice place. No stars for idiots with large dogs and no control. read more

I love this park! I went to one in Beaverton a few weeks ago and it was one giant mud puddle. This park is all wood chips so there's no mess after! It's not small by any means, but it's smaller than other parks I've been to. I can't imagine anyone having a problem with that though, unless they have an aggressive/antisocial dog. And in that case, just take the little guy for a run or something. My dogs had a great time, and we're completely exhausted after. read more

Very nice little dog park! Actually, just stumbled across it while walking the hounds on the Fanno Creek Trail (side path lead to it). Several benches, a sheltered area, a paved path to the sheltered area from the entrance and water fountains for you and the pooches as well. Like one of the other reviewers, I have a rescue (Greyhound) as well that doesn't do well around small dogs, so I have to go at off times to dog parks, or find one with low traffic. Wasn't anyone there when I got there and by the time we were leaving, a lady with her two sight-hounds (Borzoi) were coming into the park. My aggressive girl is totally fine with sight-hounds (for some reason they recognize other sight-hounds and are friendly with them), so it was a nice treat for her. Kudos to you City of Tigard! Seems I always have to go to Tigard to find a nice dog park,...wish the City of Beaverton would get off their lazy butts! They could surely learn a few lessons from you. (Beaverton,...not very dog or pedestrian friendly...wish I'd have known that before I bought a home there.) read more

Small park mostly nice folks. There are a few aggressive dogs that go there that won't let your dog run. Watch out for two Huskies that go there there names are Hunter and Layla. They chase your dog and grab their necks and pin them up against the fences so they can't move. The owners just say there just being dogs. BS. We bring our dog to the park to exercise and get out all that energy, not to be scared. read more

Water was shut off two people tried and couldn't get it to turn on and the pups where very thirsty also there was a 150 Pound Great Dane at the park who was a little large for this small park. read more

Good in a pinch. Clean, small, owners are pretty friendly. I've never seen any fights here and my dog likes it OK- just not a lot of room to run around and be a wild crazy guy. I like the wood chips on the rainier days because it's less mud we have to clean off of our dood. read more

I have an animal aggressive Boxer(before you turn your nose up at me, she is a rescue dog so we've worked on it but she is quite set in her alpha ways) so dog parks are generally out of the question for us. However, Ash street is fairly low traffic so we have been able to find plenty of times for my furry friend to run & play by herself. My major complaint is the bark dust. Most dogs won't mind but since my dog also has bad knees & hips she seems in pain whenever she tries to run on the very deep& stiff bark dust. Wish it was not as deep or just more of a a fine bark dust. But, overall, very happy w/the remodeled park.....hoping not too many people find it, otherwise my dog park days are numbered....Eek! read more

Beautiful and spacious, with places to sit and let your dog play and run with other dogs, also with a separate space for small dogs!

This park is very nice, but I can't use it. The benches here are totally dangerous for small to medium sized dogs. My dog loves people and she wants to sit next to her human friends at the park when she gets a bit overwhelmed by the larger dogs. She jumps up on the bench and her legs fall right through the metal bench. I don't want any dog to go through the pain of a broken leg. read more

I love this place. I always meet lots of nice folks and their sweet doggies. I have a fairly small dog (puggle) and I never worry about him because I think most of the folks that come here bring friendly dogs. Never underestimate the value of the pack! The ash park dog park is usually a wonderful place to bring your pet. However I am writing this to warn other owners of an aggressive dog that the owner continues to bring to the park. She is an Asian woman with a brown boxer with a white chest (I believe his name is Thor but I am not positive). The dog attacked my German Sheppard and the owner made a off handed comment that her dog does not like Sheppards due to a past incident with another Sheppard. She felt this was an appropriate excuse and continued to let the dog stay in the park. As we were leaving he charged at us again. The most remarkable thing is she knew this and even though we were there first (not that that should even matter) she still brought her animal into the park. Be cautious. read more
