Best Italian in lake O! We're always satisfied with the service and quality of food. Pasta is alway perfect al dente and ingredients are fresh. My personal favorite is easily the Wild Boar Pappardelle. The boar is tender and marinated to perfection. The build your own pasta menu is also a nice treat. I have been several times since it opened but it has been a few years. The menu has become a bit confused with the asian items on the menu. The service was above reproach. Most of my family was pleased but not overly impressed with the food. I had the wild boar pasta, I love wild boar this was nearly inedible. The boar 'sausage' tasted like mediocure italian sausage with extra salt. the flavor of the boar was completely lost. I probably will not return. read more

One of our family's favorite spots in Downtown LO with a GREAT happy hour and atmosphere. Not the most kid friendly (no kids menu and mostly kidless crowd) but the servers are always accommodating and make it work when it comes to options for the littles. They have TRULY elevated their menu. Everything we have had the pleasure of trying in the last few months has been just outstanding. The chef never seizes to amaze us. Bacchus Wine Nights and fine Italian dining in the heart of Lake Oswego. Last night I went here for the first time to enjoy dinner for eight and four others joined us for dessert and drinks. It was a fantastic night and although it was my first time in the restaurant, I will definitely be back. I love dining with a large group because then you get to sample a little bit of everything. Antipasti dishes: **Cozze al Vapore--a large plate of steamed mussels in a roasted tomato sauce with Pinot Grigio and grilled Ciabatta **Calamari Fritti--a basket of lightly fried calamari with tomato and lemon aioli dipping sauces on the side **Mozzarella in Carrozza--fried mozzarella and tomato with arugula pesto and a balsamic reduction served in a tower. All three were delicious and I went back for seconds of the calamari and mussels. Everyone in our party skipped the soups and salad and went right into the main course. Secondi: **Sea Bass di Chile--pan seared with a thin layer of prosciutto, asparagus, olive oil whipped potatoes and a light pesto. I had this and actually meant to ask for a substitution of seasonal veggies for the asparagus (since I am not usually a fan due to flashbacks of how it was cooked beyond recognition in my childhood), but this was delicious. I think it is a sign of a great dining experience when you add a food that previously you avoided to your "I'll have that" list. **Filetto Arrosto--pan roasted filet atop a Tuscan potato cake with seasonal veggies and a port reduction. Four in my party had this and raved about it. It was beautifully plated. **Cappi Santi al Finocchio--seared sea scallops with faro and arugula. The woman next to me had this (she had ordered it on a previous visit as well) and raved about it. Her father was a fisherman, so I think she has a higher standard then average for the quality of the dish. And to finish off this decadent meal... Dessert/Wine: **Tiramisu Classico--I chose this and it was beautifully presented with swirls of chocolate on a simple white plate, but it wasn't the best I've ever had. Next time, I'll have the.... **Torta Calda del Polenta Ciocolato--warm chocolate polenta cake with fudge and caramel sauce, a honey tuile and gelato. I tasted this and it was out of this world. A really interesting texture and version of a molten chocolate lava cake. **Trio di Gelato--how you can go wrong with three flavors of their house-made ice cream and biscotti? **Selection of digestivos--limoncello and orangecello We had wonderful service throughout and our group was relatively demanding. Most of us were sampling white and red wine, had cocktails, and asked a ton of questions. The waiter had worked in the restaurant as a wine steward for two years, so he had complete command of both the food and wine lists. He recommended some wonderful red and white wines to accompany the meal. I had a raspberry lemon drop cocktail to start, but I wouldn't recommend it in particular. Others enjoyed the house martinis. The decor is lush Italian with lots of golds, ambers and reds. Very interesting light fixtures and you eat on carved wood tables and the chairs were very comfortable. Even the fixtures in the unisex bathrooms were out of the ordinary. The kitchen is open to the dining room and at first it was a little disconcerting to have the chefs about six feet away from our table, but I loved looking at the fire brick oven. They have a few stools at the kitchen counter and I saw a mother and her children eating pizza and watching the chefs work. That would be really cool for the little ones. This place is both restaurant and wine bar and they advertised all wine bottles (red, white, or sparkling) at 20% off the menu price throughout the entire restaurant - bar and dining room on Monday evenings. The evening hours vary, but most of the week they offer a late night happy hour after 9:00p. The Lido Bar is a cool area and they had a baby grand piano, so they offer live music on occasion. There is a patio for outdoor seating in the summertime. This was a spendy restaurant and would fall in my special occasion category. It has a great wine list, so I think my next trip might be for some wine tasting and a light meal. Our party closed out the restaurant around 10:30p and I see from the website, they are only open until 9:00p on Monday, so it was gracious of them to stay open as long as they did. read more

I always get the risotto balls - we call them "balls". Not always consistent; however I will always order them - probably so I can just say "I want balls". Pastas are really good, as are any of their fish dishes. Haven't had a bad one yet. I've eaten mostly at the bar, and the bartender(s) are always friendly - though seemingly overworked...one dude for the whole bar AND restaurant? Hey, stop filling that order from the restaurant and give me more wine! Hmph. If you can't get seating in the restaurant, I recommend sitting in the bar. Belly up - they will take care of you, and will serve you the full menu. Wine list is really good, and well, of course there's some very nice Italian reds to be had. read more

Can here for a date night, and we got seated right away, which was great. We were seated, and the host walked away, and we waited and waited and waited. About 20 minutes go by, and my fiancé gets up and walks over to the counter and asks for water and was told, "yeah, someone will be right with you." He said to them that we have been waiting 20 minutes for someone to be with us and we just need some water. And then they say okay. We waited another 10 minutes for a waiter to come over and give us water. After that, it wasn't much of a problem, just very slowly. The pasta was undercooked and hard, but my fiancé like his steak. It was hard to enjoy, though, after being ignored for about 30 minutes. Used to go to Tucci all the time but now we might think twice. read more

We had a good meal last night, despite a couple of flaws. I want to start with a compliment. I love the idea you can bring in a bottle of wine to have with dinner and the restaurant does not charge a corkage. Think about it; no corkage. We started with the calamari. This was very good. We all enjoyed it. My wife and I split the Gorgonzola salad. Although the dressing tasted good, there was too much. I prefer it lighter so I can taste the greens. Rebecca liked the cheese. Others had the Caesar and the beet salad. Both were very good. All of our dishes were good. The scallops with cauliflower puree was very good. My lamb sausage was good, but the sauce was too heavy. My brother loved his clams. We had one dish that was so salty it could not be eaten. The Restaurant handled it very well and rectified the problem. The strawberry rhubarb sorbet was marvelous. My spumoni was good, but did not need chocolate spread all over the plate; it overwhelmed the ice cream. We had a good time and the service was good. read more

Just went there for a lunch with a living social coupon. The ambiance is nice. They have some areas with nice cushioned loveseats. Stylish and up to date yet not over the top and pretentious. The service was ok. They didn't tell us the specials, we had to ask ourselves what the soup of the day and the pizza of the day was. The food was also just ok. It's lunch and all but the portions were pretty small. I didn't mind but my wife thought things were a bit salty. Oh man oh man! This was my first time at Tucci, and I WILL be back!!! I went with a group of 5 and we ordered appetizers to start, Brussels (on the special), garlic bread, and calamari to start, everything tasted so good!!!! The calamari was the most expensive appetizer but came a pretty big plate, we were all surprised how much calamari arrived at our table. I then ordered the winter mule (delish!) and mushroom and prosciutto pasta (chefs kiss) it was buttery, and garlicky, with Parmesan cheese and hint of white wine. I think I had dreams of that pasta last night and I will be ordering the same thing next time I go . We were so excited about the food we didn't take any photos. We ordered a large delivery from Tucci through Postmates. Not only was every dish perfect, our silly personal requests were honored. We work in the service industry and know how little things can be missed. Want to compliment this restaurant for getting it right and getting a great dinner to us. Like I said before. Manhattan in a bottle, WOW! Get one! Citrus Mule also good. Puttanesca Pasta, and Bruschetta both delicious. Heres the problem this time. When we walked in, I noticed a sign for a steak special. It was served with spinach. On the special menu, I also noticed a steak special... however it said it was for 2. Cost $60. When I ordered it the waiter did not clarify that it was typically for 2 and it did not occur to me to ask. So I was served a pretty massive steak and my husband ate the Puttenesca. While the steak was good and probably proportionate for two, the spinach was not. So part of the steak came home. Good food here but clarify the specials!!! Unknowingly spending $60 on a steak you can't eat puts a damper on a night out. read more

First, the night started when ordering our food, the server warned us that one of their pasta dishes that we ordered "a lot of people complain it's too dry". Well that set the stage for the rest of the night. You should never say things like that as a server. They mention on Yelp they have vegan options-not true. I think they may be confused with the difference between vegetarian and vegan. Nonetheless, we ordered off the menu they had which was fine but then don't advertise they have you have vegan options. Okay, now for the food part. The food was not what I would remotely consider good Italian cooking, at least not authentic also being we had two Italians (1st generation) in our party. One our dishes, the cacio e pepe came out without cheese or black pepper, just plain pasta lol. The server said the food runner was still in training and grabbed the wrong plate for the kitchen. We sent it back and it came back within 3 mins which you can clearly tell they just sprinkled cheese on it-still no pepper. We sent it back again while the server proceeded to explain to us that it wasn't their favorite dish. They asked if we wanted something else instead. We ordered the gnocchi. It was literally a soup of cheesy gnocchi. And the zucchini pasta looked like ramen noodles. It was definitely not the experience we were hopping for. We also ordered an espresso and it came in a huge cup-no espresso cup lol. Also, they ended up charging us for the cacio e pepe after all, which they refunded after pointing it out to them after running our credit cards. read more

WE had the brut prosecco, caesar salad, margarita pizza, shrimp/chorizo dish, and ravioli which were all delicious. The tiramasu was beyond horrible. It was a wet mess under a glop of cream. It had no flavor or texture at all. They need to take it off the menu now! The coffee was watery. So the meal was good. The dessert was a flop. The restaurant is a delight to be in. The service was good. We look forward to returning. We will skip the dessert and coffee. read more

Not sure why this is not a five star restaurant. Sure, we waited about five minutes before our server acknowledged us, but once he did... WOW!!! Our first visit was after our major snowstorm in the Portland area. We had 6:45 reservations and by 7:15 the place was full. We started with some of their classic cocktails ( Hot Toddy and Italian Mule) and two of their Fresh Start sides: Roasted Beet and Goat cheese and Brussels sprouts with toasted hazelnuts...oh my...delicious. Next was our amazing garden and Gorgonzola salads with fresh baked rustic bread... Next was the mouth watering vegetable raviolis... We brought our own wine and was happy with the modest $18 corkage fee. Our server, JP,offered to decant it for us...Why yes!!! You would think we would be full, but no...our entrees were over the top!!! Hubby had the Ossobucco and it was OK, nothing over the top. I had the special trout with root veggies. This was the best fish I have ever had. With my eyes closed you would think you were feasting on salmon. We were told that only five restaurants in the area serve this trout! I want more. We finished with the sweet gelato in a cup of espresso!!! We thought we were finished!!! After dinner we wandered into the fireplace lounge area, and knew we had to stay. Sitting by the fireplace and looking out the windows to the white string lights and fresh snow we seriously thought that we were in Aspen. We waited about 10 minutes for a table since we didn't have a reservation and it was busy! The host came back twice to check on us at the bar and was very accommodating! I ordered the gluten-free rigatoni with the Ragu and it was excellent! My husband ordered the special, which was tiny ravioli stuffed with pork, rabbit, spinach, cheese, and topped with sautéed Sage, which was also excellent! Ever so hesitant to provide 4 stars instead of 3. In the spirit of the olympics, let's give it 3.5. Tucci is like a passionate relationship (like the kind you have in your 20s): love 'em and hate 'em at the same time. So let me start with the o'so positive: 1. cuisine (when it's done right) is amazing, flavors are reminiscent of European 4 star dining. The creative sauces chef prepares are seriously to die for.... 2. happening place: decor and design 3. wine list (italian, regional) Now on to why they are 3.5 stars: 1. inconsistency (have been to Tucci more than a dozen times and we either get great service or service that doesn't give a damn served with a side of bad attitude.) 2. food can also be inconsistent (still very tasty, but under or over cooked and a few times served "cold"). 3. wine served too freaking warm. and when I request an ice bucket for my red wine (which should be served at approx 65 degrees/cellar temp) I don't want attitude. 75 degrees for a 2001 Brunello is like drinking cold coffee. It's against the grain!! So, bring me the bucket and make your annoyed faces in the back of the establishment. 4. over priced (especially the wines 300-400% mark-up from retail) food is priced about right because it's awesome (WHEN IT's prepared properly)! *So, after dining at Tucci, we loved it and hated it, depending upon the evening. Which makes me think after all the years they've been around that it's poorly managed. Master chef and owner should continue to create cuisine that sends your mind and senses to a higher level. But hire a management consultant to over see the sloppy service, inconsistencies and PLEASE put some of that money into a wine cooling system and if your patrons still want ice...let them have it, with a smile! read more
