I had the awesome Olive burger with homemade chips and my hubby had the Tempura battered walleye - said it was the best he ever had! I had their lobster and shrimp mac and cheese. It was creamy and delicious with plenty of shrimp and a great piece of lobster on top. Didn't come with bread but I asked and they made some garlic toast for me. They have their own brewed beer which was quite good. Definitely recommend this place. read more

Ok, don't judge the place by how it looks outside or inside. It's a bar plain and simple, with provisions for a restaurant. They have a regular menu and a special menu. The special menu is chosen by the chef and changes daily. Pick something off there if you can help it. I had the Walleye and my wife had caprese salad and mushroom soup. The walleye was breaded and thick and the soup had a real flare to it, with an array of hot spices. Only reason I didn't give it five stars was the breading on the fish had almost no flavor and they had no frosted mugs. The fish did however have a nice tarter sauce probably made by the chef and a slice of lemon AND lime for my choice. Tasty Creme Brulee for desert. Yeah that's right.....Creme Brulee..... In a bar. My husband and I love to eat here. The menu has basic bar food and that is all very good. But then they have specials created by a chef that are amazing!! The service is usually good and the drinks are strong, so even if you do wait a minute or too, you don't really care. The place has a lot of returning clientele, which makes for a fun atmosphere. Excellent dive bar! They have daily specials that are always a home run. Their bread, buns and cookies are all homemade (they even sell them!). They grind beef for all of their burgers. If you like boneless wings, you have to try their Cajun wings. They're amazing!! How can you not love a bar that serves delicious homemade few and craft beer? The owner and wait staff always be sure you get great service. If you're lucky, you might get to see a live band while you're there. read more

If you bypass Tujax from the outside, you missed out! The food is out of this world great, you can taste the freshness in every dish. The service is great, ask for Jilly, drinks are great, and home-brewed beer is great! This evening we started with the Crostini with Goat Cheese and Roasted Tomatoes 6.95, you can see picture after we dove in, large pieces of crostini smeared deep with Goat cheese, roasted tomatoes, and covered with fresh little tomatoes, the dish is warm, bread is soft, the sauce is the Chef's secret it is drizzled over the huge dish, fabulous! We had a special Smoked Pork Loin, Horseradish Cream Sauce with Cheesy Red Potatoes 12.25, I am not a pork fan, however, Jeff was very impressed, the red skin potatoes were out of this world. I had the California Reuben, I was just in a mood for a sandwich, 12 inches huge sandwich on homemade bread, at least a pound of great turkey, swiss cheese galore, I had the homemade red pepper sauce instead of the 1,000 Island dressing, fabulous! This Little Hole in the Wall Bar/Pub is the Bomb! I have been here several times, usually not very busy, but last Monday Night it was Rocking! I hear they have great burgers but I've only ever had Pizza, as it's the BEST DAMN PIZZA! I have a couple of times ordered 2 to freeze and bring back to NC with me. The staff is very friendly and know my Dad, by name and cocktail. Love the Décor, it's not much to look at, but it really fits, I always look forward to a meal or evening at Tujax! If they brewed their own Beer that would be cool, but I am a big believer in if it ain't broke, don't fix it. read more

Had dinner here on Friday night and although I had heard good things I wasn't expecting much. The drinks were well-poured and the house made brisket on a house made bun was amazing. Fries were fresh cut too. We just got a small cottage near delton so we will be visiting frequently but for those in Kalamazoo and Hastings it is worth the drive. Wow. Thank you yelp - the other great reviews got my husband and I here for dinner recently and my only regret is we live far from here. The food was truly awesome. A delectable corned beef reuben (word is they drench a brisket in amber ale and cook it for 10 hours at 200 degrees - clearly the right way to do it!); and walleye crusted and sauced to perfection - just the right flavor to enhance, not overpower, the fish - so succulent! The mix of veggies served with it was also great! I substituted onion rings for the fries that came with the sandwich and they were indeed impressive. The ones I took home (to our airbnb) got cut up and reheated in a skillet and were worthy leftover fare. Wally, who waited on us, exhibited an unflappable blend of grace and style. Local gem...first impression is that it is like every other small town bar...until you eat. They use flavors instead of the usual fry grease. They also smoke their own meats and routinely there are several choices like brisket, pulled pork and chicken. AND...they have a bakers rack with fresh breads and baked goods. Our most recent experience would have been a 2-star experience, however I've been here before and it was a 4-star experience so they are getting an average rating. If you are looking for a local bar for drinks then this is your place, however the food experience is what has been hit or miss. I remember the last time there being impressed with the fish I had there, however my recent experience with the smoked chicken platter was disappointing between the burnt fries, inedible slaw, and dried chicken. The spicy cheese balls have stayed consistently good and as stated before it's a good bar for beer drinkers especially, but be careful with the food orders. read more
