We had not been here for years and years but I was in the mood for a change from the pizza-burger-Mexican cycle, and recent reviews were good, so off we went for a Saturday night dinner. The first thing I noticed is that the restaurant had contracted in size. Last time we went it had acquired the space next door so the restaurant was quite large. Now, it is small and cozy, with about a dozen tables of different sizes. The ambiance is classic and traditional, with many pictures and paintings of Thailand on the walls. The overall feel was very authentic and comforting. Ambiance is 5 stars The food was good--a solid 4 stars. We liked the steamed pork dumplings and the chicken satay was moist and tender, not at all dry. Both the wife and I liked our curries. I asked for "not too spicy" on mine but it was very spicy, I was sweating and could not eat very much of it. We got veggie fried rice for the kid and it was excellent. The main downfall was the service. It was rather bizarre. We were seated and immediately given menus. Then we waited a good 20 minutes for our order to be taken. After the order was given, our food came out in about 5 minutes and all at once--both appetizers and all entrees. After we finished, we waited for to go boxes. Then I waited another 20 minutes for the bill, even though I asked for the bill when the boxes were brought. All in all, it was a 1.5 hour dinner. The only time I want to spend 1.5 hours on a dinner is if margaritas and tequila are involved. The problem was understaffing. There was one person to wait all 12 tables, and one person to fill water glasses. I assume that they were the owners. 1 star on service. We will return because the food was flavorful, but be aware that this restaurant is the antithesis of fast food. Plan to stay a good long time. read more

Craving Thai in my area at the time, came across this place on Google. Great reviews so in route I go. 8 pm-ish, not a soul inside. A giant of a man came from outta nowhere! Super friendly and accommodating! He asked what I liked. Very helpful and patient. I basically let him pick it. Steamed dumplings for starters. Absolutely delicious! Fresh and great tasting! The server gave us the menu, the right amount of time to look over it, and came back to take our order. Turns out!!! Our server was the owner! What! Coolness. It's sweet and spicy with a bit of a kick. Really enjoyable. - Pad Thai Lunch Special: For under $9 dollars, the size is just the right amount to fill me up. It tastes different than what I imagine Pad Thai to be, but it is so flavorful! Both my husband and I really like it! The owner told me this is their most popular dish and they cook it fresh every order. - Panang Curry Lunch Special: This one was good as well! A little spicy, but doable. I got it with shrimp, and the shrimp was so good. However -- being honest. I don't think I would get this dish again, but it's worth a try for my first time. The Pad Thai just blew it out of the water. The lunch specials come with soup and an egg roll too. We also thought about the mango sticky rice, but the gentleman was nice and told us the mangos they have aren't sweet right now. It's winter and not in season so that makes sense. I love that he went and checked for us. He didn't force the sale and cares about the final product. I would come back again! This is a great little family owned Thai restaurant in East Dallas. Due to Covid they have closed their dining room. You can still walk in and order or call ahead. Their prices are reasonable relative to the portion sizes. I enjoy the Thai Basil with spice level 2. Be sure to ask them to explain the spice levels. The food reheats well as well! I also really liked their fried dumplings, they have a cilantro dipping sauce. Parking is easy with a large parking lot. We did have some for leftovers though. The food was served hot and fresh. The corn fritters (4 for $6.00~) were delicious- slightly sweet and served with a sweet sauce. The chicken curry was spicy and had bamboo shoots, bell pepper, and zucchini. The chicken eggplant was delicious and had eggplant and bell peppers. This was not spicy. I must say, my babe did so well to bring us here after years of being told what a great place this is. I've been in the mood for a good Indian curry and admittedly have been afraid of Thai cuisine because I'm not big on SPICE, but this place is truly awesome. You get five star, highly attentive service with take out prices for food clearly cooked with love! Many other restaurants need to take notes because our food came out in less than 15 minutes, our every need was catered to promptly (and without demand) and I'm truly pleased to have encountered this gem among a humble lil neighborhood in Dallas! We ordered four dishes, and we especially liked the Tom Yam soup with Shrimp and the Pud Thai with Chicken. The Pud Thai was sweeter than I expected, but still very good. We ordered medium Thai heat in our dishes, and I added Thai spices to my servings. That really kicked it up another notch (Bam Bam would have been proud). The putting green in the back is great idea to pass time while you wait. We were the only customers at 9:00 pm on Sunday so our dinner was served quickly. My new go to Thai place! I had heard it was good but we had never stopped in before until last week. We got the Thai sandwich appetizer which was so unique and delicious. It kind of tasted like French toast but then the sauce and veggies on the side you put on top made it even better. Then I got the crazy noddles the hottest possible and it actually made my lips burn.
