1/22/2019: Well~THANKS, TSA via LHR International, LONDON UK AIRPORT'S frisking area-I lost my TUMI padlocks and other belongings-grrrrrrr~Why I oughta . . . Nevermind \('*~*')/ . . . I'm still perturbed-no, LIVID! Unbelievably, I just can't fathom I lost my shopping ID cards, my TUMI padlocks, and I also discovered, I lost my PEBBLE BEE my brother, Albert gave me-DOH! Where did my belongings go???? Anyway, after I completed my errands for El Dorado and Sacramento Counties, I thought I might as well head towards Roseville in Placer County making my entire day a Tri-County, errand run, right? Right. As usual, I used Yelp's search for TUMI'S address entering the address onto my Garmin GPS, drove to the Galleria Mall, parked adjacent to The Cheesecake Factory and Land Ocean Restaurant, and entered the mall: TUMI'S address is #43, first floor so, I looked at the Galleria's map and found TUMI . . . Sashay towards the Food Court, go down the escalator, and TUMI is almost at the center of the entire mall. I walked inside TUMI: It's tiny like the Lush Store at Waterloo Station, London UK! I show the TUMI Sales Rep my TUMI purse wanting to purchase padlocks: 1. Purchasing one padlock costs $20.00 plus, tax 2. Purchase three padlocks for $55.00 plus, tax Of course, I opted purchasing option 2, since I also own a Tumi satchel . . . Egregiously, the padlocks were missing from my TUMI satchel, too-grrrrr~THANKS, TSA for ripping off my belongings! Now, I have TUMI padlocks for my TUMI purse and satchel. Thanks, TUMI Sales Rep selling the direly needed TUMI padlocks!

Great service and knowledge of their products. Wish the product had more diverse range in cost.

Departures - And there's more than this. This is the largest collection of Briggs and Riley luggage I have ever seen.

When I tumble upon a store with a pretty unique selection, I usually get excited simply because…read moreit's novel. Departures was one such store. Of course, I have seen travel focused stores in the past, but this was the largest one I've ever seen. over the decades, I found that some of the little travel accessories can really make a difference. I heartily recommend travel pillows. And luggage tags that don't rip off. When I first popped in through the door, I was greeted by some familiar brands like Samsonite and a few more unfamiliar ones. Then I wandered over to the back of the store and there was the biggest collection of Briggs and Riley's luggage I have ever seen. Now you may be wondering why I'm so excited about this one brand. Here is some history. I purchased two pieces of Samsonite. Both lasted about eight years. The grips on the suitcase, kind of melted in my hand at the end plus the wheels fell off. The second one broke on my way to the airport. I had to go back to my place and do an emergency repack. I also had two travel pro pieces. These did a little better. the travel pros lasted about 15 years each which was definitely a step up. These days I don't take chances with my luggage. I retire them before they have a chance to fall apart on me right in the middle of an airline flight. I received a Briggs and Riley piece of luggage as a gift 25 years ago. The luggage itself shows absolutely no signs of deterioration. The wheels are perfect, the handles feel steady, the only thing that's showing a little bit of wear are the zipper pulls which has fallen off due to heavy duty use. Of course, all my luggage did this and a lot earlier than the Briggs and Riley. However, Briggs and Riley has a lifetime warranty. The very friendly staffer at Departures was pleased to explain the warranty to me. She was clear, friendly and knew her business. First, it's a no questions asked warranty. The company will fix it. there are several options for repair. You can take it to an authorized Briggs and Riley repair center. The repair time can vary from a few days to a few weeks. The other option is to simply mail the luggage to Briggs and Riley. You will have to pay a shipping fee, but the return fee is covered by the company. I feel great appeal because throwing away a broken piece of luggage that only lasted a few years is some serious environmental impact and I'd like to avoid it. The biggest barrier to buying Briggs and Riley is the high price upfront. The luggage can cost 5-10 times more compared to discounted luggage at major retail stores. On the other hand, the Briggs and Riley even over 25 years has never fallen apart on my way to the airport. When you've only given yourself two hours of leeway to arrive at your airport, dragging your suitcase, back and repacking is an incredibly stressful experience. Cost wise, compared to the Briggs and Riley I have would have purchased approximately three pieces of Samsonite in the same timeframe. The price of the Samsonite even with the sale is starting to approach the price of the Briggs and Riley. And after the Samsonite fell to pieces , I will not trust that brand ever again. Comparing Briggs and Riley versus other brands of luggage by price alone doesn't really work because the warranty will basically fix the Briggs and Riley until either the company fails or you do. Just be aware that the airlines can change the requirements for luggage when it pleases them. You might want to purchase a smaller piece just in case things get much worse in the future. Now the exciting part about the luggage at Departures are the discounts. I have never ever seen Briggs and Riley discounted. If I had known all this at the beginning, I would have purchased myself a set of Briggs and Riley, even though the price would be comparatively exorbitant because the long-term value exceeds all the other companies. So if you think you've got a couple of decades of travel ahead of you, take my advice and go take a look at Departures. And leave the luggage to someone in your will. The warranty still covers it.
