I just had a sense of nostalgia when my friends and i were talking about sandwiches, and i remember this place i used to go to all the times when i was going to UCR at the time. I'm very happy to see that after 7 years, that place is still there, cause their sandwiches were the best. My favorite was the MONSTER, it had everything you wanted in a sandwich... layers of roast beef, ham, turkey, cheese, bacon, and their homemade salsa they put on top. OMG i can till remember the taste of it even today. The place is real chill, the staff are very friendly. It's a cool place you go to eat before class, or after basketball where you want to go somewhere to grub. It's sad this place is only open on weekdays, but who can blame them, cause they're so popular. I've since moved away from there, and the only time i get to go there is on weekends if i get a chance, but they're not open... sad. Wow! This place is one of the best sandwich places! I am never going to subway ever again unless Tummy Stuffers is closed. I mean, I think subway sandwiches are awful to begin with, but after trying this place, you will despise subway and their measly 6" subs with tiny slivers of meat. This place gives you 8 inches of sub and is generous with the meat! Take that, subway! The ingredients here are fresh and the bread is really good. If you have no idea what to order, you can't go wrong with any of the options they have listed on their menu board. The Monster is amazing but definitely not meant for one tiny person. Maybe 2 or 3. Came here because of the good reviews on Yelp. Got the steak, mushroom, onion sandwich - and it was okay. Better than subway, but it's nothing super amazing. Service was sluggish, but understandable because it's usually busy during the lunch hours they are open. Came in a styrofoam box, for some reason my sandwich was really greasy and it turned soggy near the end. I wouldn't mind eating this if I was invited here with by someone who wanted to come, but probably won't go out of my way to come here to eat. read more

The place seems like a go-to lunch spot for local office workers. When I walked in at lunch, I immediately felt underdressed, because everyone had on suits and work clothes, and I was just in my t-shirt and jeans. I heard a lot of good things on yelp about this place, which is probably why I had pretty high expectations for their food. I ordered the steak, mushroom, and onion sandwich, footlong. It was pretty cheap for the amount of food I got, and they got it to me pretty quickly, despite it being lunch hour. They wrapped my sandwiches in paper and then put it in a Styrofoam container to go, which at first I thought was strange, because it was such a waste of resources. Only when I got home did I realize that the sandwiches were so greasy that the oil soaked right through the paper. Good call, Tummy Stuffer! Wasn't too thrilled about the amount of fatty juices that came out of my sandwich, though. I found the sandwich kind of hard to eat. As I unwrapped the sandwich, all the contents started spilling out. I requested tomato on top, but it wouldn't stay put, and I ended up having to eat a lot of the filling with a fork. The bread was very soggy, and that made it feel like there was too much filling in the sandwich. The meat was okay, but it didn't taste like anything very special. I've definitely had better sandwiches, but for the price, it's decent for a Riverside restaurant and it had a lot of choices on the menu. However, my sandwich was very greasy and food coma-inducing and difficult to eat. Perhaps I will return and try a dryer sandwich next time with an easier grip. read more

To be honest, other than the Chicken Terriyaki Bowl, i've only had one sandwich and it was so long ago i'm not sure which one it was. The bowl alone is worth the trip and I recommend it to people all the time. I heard about this place through a friend. I was surprised to see that Tummy Stuffer is hidden around the industrial area of Iowa Ave/Columbia Ave. I always drive on that street leaving school, and I never bothered to look in that area until now. Their sandwiches look like banh mi. I ordered an 8" #62, which is the Roast Beef, Avocado, and Mushrooms. I also asked for mayonnaise, diced tomatoes, and diced onions inside. The sandwich cost me about $5, which is a bit cheaper than Subway considering it's an 8". The sandwich was pretty decent. I really liked the flavor that the onions brought to it. I never tried eating mushrooms in a sandwich, but it added a nice touch. Other than that, the sandwich didn't bring me any fireworks, but then again they have many other special sandwiches that I have to try. I'd go here again, but I'd rather choose sandwiches that have the STARS next to their names on the menus. Those are their special sandwiches. read more

It's also only open during lunch hours so take that into consideration if you're planning on visiting. This place has a great selection of subs, all with great meat and fresh veggies. It's a little on the expensive end for a sub (I mean, it's pretty tough to beat subway) but it makes up for it in quality. I use to come here every-so-often when I lived in riverside, it was definitely one of the better food joints around, no doubt. You would never know this deli would be so ridiculously good with where it's located. I was in Riverside picking up samples and did a quick Yelp search. Tummy Stuffer popped up within a mile of where I was. Opened the door and couldn't believe how many people were there dining. College students, families, policemen, and businessmen. We walked right up to the counter. The staff was friendly, helpful and patient as we looked through the extensive menu. Literally something for everyone. My guest got the turkey avocado bacon on rye bread and I got a tuna sandwich with avocado and pepperoncini's. We both are all our lunch. It was fast, fresh, and yummy. Looks are deceiving. Tummy Stuffer is located in a industrial strip mall close to UC Riverside. Simply driving by, you'd never know that this place serves delicious sandwiches on the most amazing bread. I haven't had such soft and textures bread since I was last in New Orleans having a fried shrimp po' boy. Today I had the roast beef with cheese loaded with the works! I've been having sandwiches here since the mid 90's. Sandwiches are big and delicious. I usually get The Monster sandwich here. Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, Bacon, Avocado, and Swiss. Can't go wrong with that, right? It's a really good sandwich packed with a lot of fresh ingredients(bread tastes like it was recently baked) for only $7. I'd definitely reccomend it if you're hungry. They also have $5 footlong options for those who may be interested as well. Good luck trying to get a sandwich during the lunch rush though, there's always a bunch of UCR students and people from around the business complex getting lunch here. It can really get packed sometimes. One cool thing that I've seen them do with their sandwiches is that they don't cut the bread all of the way through. They leave a little bit of space at both ends of the roll, so nothing falls off. It's a brilliant idea and I'm surprised that most sandwich places haven't stolen that idea yet. My only vice with this place is that the meat portions have dropped in recent days. You definitely don't get as much meat as you used to anymore. The sandwiches are still good here and the portions are still above average, but it's hard not to notice when you've been going here as long as I have. Those who haven't been eating here as much as I have will probably never notice or care, but if you haven't been here in a while, fair warning. read more

Just a couple recommendtions. I like the squaw bread and order the small roast beef, avocado and cheese (ask for the pepper jack), everything on it. The salads are pretty good too but who orders a salad when there are so many sandwiches to choose from. The chicken salad has a bit of curry flavor that I don't like but some might. $1.75 for a refillable drink and a side to 'combo' the sandwich. Stick with the chips. There's a good variety and the potato and macaroni salad are straight from a plastic bucket. Not good sides at all unless you are a big mayo fan. read more
