If you want good old fashioned honest car repair service at a reasonable price, this is the place for you. Javier is great. He is honest and will save you money if he can. I once had a problem with my fuel system and the dealership wanted to charge me $1500. The part alone was $500.00. Javier told me that if I wanted to buy the part and bring it to him, he would install it, but he could not offer a warranty like the dealership. I trust him so I said OK. I bought the part online for $400, and Javier's mechanic installed it. The whole thing cost me $750.00. I chose this shop because of the reviews here on yelp and I wasn't disappointed. I stopped here without an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in right away. Javier explained everything to me while showing me my old spark plugs compared to new ones. He was very professional and easygoing and didn't try to sell me any services I didn't need which I greatly appreciate. The price was fair and at the low end of a site I use to see repair costs in my area, repairpal.com. Being a single woman I'm always scared when it comes to auto repair but I did my homework first and it paid off. Great Service and Pricing. Honest. Our car was running hot so we had the car towed to Crown Dodge to see what was wrong. We were long time customers so they've seen the car before about this issue. Each time it was several hundred dollars for whatever, but never fixing the noise the engine was making when it got hot. This time they tried to tell us we had a blown head gasket and wanted $4,400.00 to fix it. We weren't sure what to do. The car probably isn't even worth that. We looked around for other options. Tune-Ups Plus in Ventura was recommended to us. We called and were quoted about $1,400.00 to replace the blown head gasket. We had the car towed from Crown Dodge to TuneUps Plus in the morning. The mechanic, Javier, checked the vehicle, added about a 1 gallon of water, replaced the radiator cap and called us back that afternoon. No blown head gasket! Only cost us $14.00 for new cap! It's been 9 months now and its still running fine! It's not running hot and no funny noise coming from the engine. Amazing! Glad it was only $14.00, but stunned that Crown Dodge wanted to replace the head gasket when it was only water and a radiator cap that needed to be replaced! Javier was friendly and took the time to answer all our questions. He has a new customer now and we highly recommend Tune-Ups Plus! read more

Was advised to go see Javier at Tune Ups plus by a neighbor who has an immaculately kept auto collection. He said he went to Tune Ups plus and was treated right. My car was showed the engine light on, service traction/traction off messages and then would jerk violently when it was shifted from park into drive, or drive into reverse. I had a sinking suspicion my higher mileage ride was beginning to have some transmission issues. After Javier looked it over, the good news was it was a bad Soleniod. Then, once it was fixed, I had to leave the car in his lot because I couldn't be able to make it back that night to pick it up. They were completely understanding, kept the part for me to see what the problem was, and sufficiently explained it purpose. I appreciated being schooled on what I was paying for. Will definitely be going back to him. Very good prices, treated fairly and educated on what my options were for treating the problem. read more
