So I've been here multiple times and the food is always good and flavorful. There was only one time I ordered the moneybags and they were off and they didn't do anything about it. I felt like they had way too much cream cheese in them. I will just stick with the noodle dishes. They bring you four different spices you can add to your dish to make it spicier... I like spicy. We went at about 3pm on a Sunday and were greeted immediately. Wonderful waitress that was quick to take our order and answer questions about the food and flavors. Our group of 5 was served fairly quickly and accurately. The curry bowls were a big hit (the best we've ever had). Accidentally drove to the old location - and luckily called and got direction nearby to the new one. Wonderful! The reviews helped me choose this restaurant and agree with them. Wonderful. We had the Money Bags for our appetizer which was really different and enjoyable. Think of crab rangoon only creamy with a little garlic. My boyfriend had the Mushroom Lover as his entree which was really good. The chicken was really tender. I had Tom Kah soup which is the staple of Thai soups. I get mine with shrimp. YUM!!!! This place is phenomenal! I am a huge fresh spring rolls fan and the ones here are so fresh and tasty. Comes with a peanut sauce, not as thick as other places yet still so delicious! The money bags are mini crab rangoons that also hit the spot. I've been here twice now and each time the food is hot, delicious and comes out quick! The sweet chili noodles (mild) and the garlic chicken & shrimp with veggies were both large portions and packed with flavor. We were seated quickly and the service was top notch. Tuptim Thai Restaurant is the best Asian restaurant in Topeka. It is located near the auto row area of southeastern Topeka, where there are many auto dealerships along Kansas Ave. The restaurant is authentically Thai, and the service excellent. Our server was undoubtedly from Thailand. Since I have been to Thailand, I recognized her accent. The restaurant has the traditional pictures of the Thai king and queen on the wall (groan), along with traditional Thai art. The Tom Yum soup was especially excellent. We appreciated the fact that they are willing to make changes to preparations, such as omitting chicken stock and sugar. Clearly the sauces are made to order, so they can adjust to such requests. It's just okay, which seems to be a widespread problem with Topeka restaurants. I actually had to add spices to my Drunken Noodles, which was a first- it was kind of bland and I asked for "medium" spicy. It was heavy on the noodles and light on the meat/veggies. Tup Tim Thai is a great place to get a delicious lunch at a reasonable price. I haven't worked in Topeka long, but within my first week of working, a colleague called me up and asked if I was interested in getting lunch somewhere. She suggested we go here, and I was all-aboard. The Tup Tim Thai lunch menu covers a couple of different areas, including curries and noodles. They include a novel take on the traditional midwestern crab rangoon with an appetizer called "money bags", which I think I actually prefer to the traditional gooners. Money bags are also filled fried won-tons, but their shape and package makes them a bit more bite-size than the pull-apart of a traditional gooner. I also like whatever they are doing with the formulation of the cream cheese filling. Most of the lunch courses come with a choice of a cup of soup or a cup of salad. The latter might sound funny, but the soup and the salad both come out in the same-sized container. Personally, unless you have an aversion to soup, get the soup. From what I've seen, the salad appears to be an uninspiring Dole mix, but the soups are rather good. There isn't a choice to the soup, just the soup du jour, but each soup I have had has been worthwhile. In my trio of visits, I have had the yellow curry, the red curry, and a noodle dish and I've enjoyed all of them rather well. When you order, they ask if you would like mild, medium, hot, or thai hot. I've ventured into hot, which is just about right for me, but I have been warned that thai hot ups the spice quotient. It's still probably not inedible, but it might be beyond the realm of folks who don't eat spicy food on a regular basis (which I do not). The curries are also accompanied by white rice. Finally, they have thai iced coffee on the menu, which is a couple of ounces of strong coffee poured over ice and mixed with sweetened condensed milk. It's a sugar and caffiene bomb, and I love it so much. If you haven't made it in to Tup Tim Thai for lunch, you might start making your plans soon. The Kansas government is moving a lot of Department of Revenue employees into the Zibbel building next door, and I'm sure there will be a steady stream of them heading over to Tup Tim Thai every day for lunch. read more

It took a hostess awhile to come out and seat us and then she disappeared! We waited and waited and finally one of us got up and knocked on the kitchen door and asked if anyone was working. I Ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Seafood Tom Yum Soup and an order of spring rolls. I come from Vegas and my favorite spot was Kung Fu in Chinatown. No one will ever compare, I don't believe. 1st- the soup doesn't come with a bowl of rice. ?? Why?? 2nd- the soup is a bit on the sweet side! No, No, and No!! And very little seafood. Enough imitation crab to go around but that was about it. No shrimp, no mussels, no squid. Why? What did I just pay for? 2nd- I was given a wee bit of peanuts for my pad Thai and there wasn't even any sprouts in there. Where's the crunch at?
