Just completed a 21-zone lawn sprinkler job with Dean Hirsh & Turf Industries and they performed an excellent job. The crew of 8 people led by Francisco showed up early in the day and started their meticulous work in laying pipes across our 26,000 sq. ft. property. Since I am working from home I had the opportunity to observe the quality of their work and I have to say that Turf Industries know their business very well. Towards the end, Francisco walked me through the system setup, tested each sprinkler zone and made necessary adjustments along the way. Turf Industries did a great job in installing the sprinkler system-with Wi Fi for my front yard. Their Forman explained everything that took place in the installation. In digging up the lawn and placing the underground system, their men put every section of grass back that you wouldn't even know that the lawn was dug up. After the system was installed their Forman went over how the system works with the Wi Fi and tied to the weather app. I highly recommend Turf Industries for your Sprinkler systems. Wow! This company installed and serviced our sprinkler system in 1998, but refused to provide a "free" estimate for repair work necessary, after village crews damaged our system. The first reaction of their employee Jeanne was "we're not responsible!!!". Yeah, I know you're not responsible...I just want to know how much it's going to cost me to repair the damage. After some "heated" back and forth (where I kept expressing my shock that they wanted to charge us $60 to give an estimate on a system they've been maintaining for twenty years), Jeanne says "F*CK YOU" to me as she's hanging up the phone on me. When I called back to report the inappropriate behavior, they wouldn't answer their phones and sent me to voicemail. Before the unprovoked swearing tirade, Jeanne also encouraged me, if I didn't like the $60 fee, to contact one of the many other companies to service our system. Yeah Jeanne, that's exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks for the obvious advice! I encourage Turf to help Jeanne find a job where she doesn't have to deal with customers. I also encourage Turf to train employees to treat long-term, loyal customers with some respect. read more

Turf Industries has been my sprinkler company since we moved to this house in 2012. My previous company (of 14 years) would not service us since we were a "new" customer. Turf came right out to shut down our sprinklers and we have been loyal customers ever since. Even with COVID messing up their opening schedules and crew rosters, they were at our house when they were able to resume operations, opened our sprinklers, tested all of the heads and were just as thorough as they have ever been. When we have a change to our yard, they have been very good about coming out to make adjustments in a reasonable time frame. Their crews are knowledgeable and informed. The office staff is great. They normally service our sprinkler system. They finally came out today, mid June, when normally they come out in early May. The tech they sent out said some sprinkler heads needed to be cleaned, and as he was here, we received a phone call from Jean. She said she was sending him away, and that this was a half day job. My husband tried to talk to them to explain that last year we had the same issue, and it was easily resolved in one visit. She did not listen, kept talking over him and hung up. Then Mary Hirsch, the owner called back and told us to find a new company. Now it is mid June and we just planted flowers and don't have an operating sprinkler system. She said they only have half the workers and they don't want new customers, and don't want to service anyone with a system that they did not install, and then said they were really busy and hung up the phone. She was so incredibly rude, and we are long time customers. Do not use these people! The don't care about the customers at all and left us in a bad situation! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service! Technician (1) arrived this morning and started the first zone and commented about water pressure. I shared that last year the technicians (multiple) arrived last year and experienced the same problem, but with a little effort they were able to get the system working, he said he would call the office. When I came in the house my wife was already on the phone with Jean from the office, Jean was sending the technician to another site and we would have to make another appointment and it would be expensive to get working! I got on the phone with Jean and before I could say anything she talked over me and hung up. About an hour later Mary, the owner called, and said we are understaffed and cannot spend anytime with our account and then she hung up before we could talk! Understand where the bad customer service attitude comes from now! After the phone call my wife and I went outside and attempted to get the system running, all zones are now working beautifully after we invested an hour turning on each zone! Turf Industries will be out of business soon with this type of management! They attribute the missing work staff to Covid-19, my sense is most of the good technicians probably quit because they would not put up with this type of management! read more

BEWARE! This company is sneaky and deceiving. We requested a repair visit and wanted to schedule a time so we would be home when they came. The owner Mary told me this would not be a problem and her technician would call me. She also drove the point home that her team does not have good luck doing repairs and usually just replace the entire system which runs about $700. Unannounced a few days later, their technician showed up when we were about to head out of town. We ended up delayed on our trip an hour because of this. The technician said he wanted to take a look at things before he called us. The technician seemed physically incapable of servicing our back-flow system b/c he 1) broke a component with his hands and 2) was not capable of putting caps back on 2 pieces and my husband had to do it for him. The technician's hands/arms were shaking pretty hard and he was struggling. He said he just had a weak left hand but from what we observed we thought he either had a medical condition or was on something, b/c it was more like having the shakes. He decided to replace 2 washers although when he pulled the existing ones out he said they did not appear to be worn and that our parts looked pretty new. To replace these, he had to open 2 separate kits that contained the washers. He also replaced the component he broke. 3 weeks later we received a bill for $107 ($60 for the 2 washers!) I called and asked to speak to an owner or manager because given what our experience had been we felt the bill was unfair. Mary was who I spoke to again and she was really unconcerned about what I shared, she just tried to justify things. She then asked me what solution I wanted, which was also surprising. If a business cares about a customer or their quality of care they would offer a solution. So I asked for her to cancel the bill. If it had been a scheduled visit, where the technician seemed capable of servicing the the equipment, I would have no issue with the charges. She explained that the washers costed $60 b/c we were charged for the entire Kit. WHAT?! So their employee breaks a part and needs to open a kit to replace it, and then also chooses to replace 2 washers that didn't have anything wrong with them, and they get to keep all the unused Kit parts, and I have to pay $60 for that?! WHAT?! Mary also said that if she canceled our bill their business would never service our property again. While we have only been in our house 2 years, Turf Industries installed this system and has serviced the property for 24 years. We are just so shocked at how unprofessional this entire situation has been. She never proposed a solution, never apologized, and ended the call by telling me the Technican was her son. I think we actually got lucky in the end. If we hadn't been home, who knows what kind of damage would have been done to convince us to buy a new $700 system. read more

I had this company come out and give me a quote on a sprinkler system. Well to say this guy was rough around the edges is an under statement and all he had to say was just bad things about the other companies i told him i was getting quotes from. Nothing really good about his own company, he even had print reviews on the other companies but not his own and when i look up the other companies none of the reviews he had could be found? He may of been a little cheeper then the company i went with but at least i got a company that can stand on there own merit. read more

Dean came out and gave me a quote the day after I had called to ask for an estimate for an installation on a sprinkler system for our home. He was the only quote I did receive, but I have to tell you after I had read some reviews of other companies I felt extremely comfortable with Turf Industies. It wasn't that they were bad reviews with the others, but it was the quanity of reviews and some did have some that weren't that great and some were okay. Also, I am very busy so to try to set up appointments with others was just not going to happen. Everything Dean promised was done, quality, cleanliness and after two weeks you can not even tell anything has been done to my lawn. I was also impressed with the outcome of how the heads for the shrubs and flowers came out. They give you a 10 year warranty with the system which was very important as well and I know if I had a problem they would take care of it without any hesitation. read more
