This place was fantastic! The selection was really extensive. We went through so many choices while remodelling a large portion of our home. The representative Jessica had a thorough knowledge of the power of different fixtures and the design elements we were looking for. I was in dire need of new kitchen lights. I was going to go to big box stores like Lowe's or Home Depot but my parents convinced me to look at Northwest Lighting. I did, and I enjoyed my experience there. I worked with Alice. She listened to me and made quality suggestions. I bought one light at the first visit and returned for the larger model shortly later. I was actually a little unconvinced of my choice but now that the light is installed I really like it. I think I will purchase another one for the upstairs hall light soon. Alice knew what she was talking about! The only negative was that it seemed like they were out of more inventory than I would have guessed, but i guess supply chain issues are the norm now. If you want to support a local business and not a big box store, I would definitely look at Northwest Lighting! read more

I recently stopped in to look at lighting and found a wonderful display of ceiling fans and track lighting along with other lighting. . I had looked at a few other lighting stores and found Northwest had the best selection. Because of the selection and service I received, I purchased two ceiling fans and track lighting with beautiful pendants which Jessica suggested. I will go back when ready to order floor lamps. Jessica was a wonderful salesperson and was very helpful. She had great suggestions and was very good at getting back to me with questions I had. When the manufacturer of the track lighting sent an incorrect part, Northwest expedited the reorder of the part and had it delivered to my home. Also, late one evening when I called the store about the incorrect part, Jessica was with another customer and Thelma went out of her way to help me and called back well after the store's normal hours. She, too, offered exceptional customer service skills. I highly recommend this store. read more

If I could rate this zero stars I would. My husband and I Just purchased our home in Arlington heights and we are currently remodeling. We wanted custom light fixtures throughout our entire house (indoor and outdoor) and mirrors for our new bathrooms and were hoping to find something here. We walked in and no one greeted us. Knowing there was a receptionist and various staff working. I proceeded to ask for what we were looking for and I was told "go upstairs". Still giving the customer service the benefit of the doubt my husband and I went upstairs. No one was upstairs and we waited for 30 minutes. No one came to check on us or ask if we needed any assistance. The upstairs was messy and un attended. There was not much of a selection. By far worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I encourage you to do the same. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and I believe in supporting local business. Went to "Lighting and Accents" and my experience there was deeply disappointing. My impression of this place was unfriendly and bored, limited selections, dimly lit, and dusty. No one smiled. There was no greeting or friendly hello at the door. I had true intentions of buying something and possibly more. These sour people ruined it. One can never have enough fabulous lighting in a new home and why waste your time here. My recommendations is to try out "Vogue Lighting" in Skokie instead where I have shopped before in the past, I believe a customers experience would be far more awarding and beyond. read more

A lightning specialist named David helped me today and I was pleased with his knowledge about the fixtures I was interested in. He explained some things that are probably going to be key to the final results of my remodeling project. Something's that my designer didn't mention. Made me rethink my options. My experience with Northwest Lighting has been second to none. Based on a recommendation from a friend I decided to take a drive and check them out. Well, Megan Kubera did not disappoint. I'm not always the easiest customer. I can't make up my mind, I'm not great with sizing and needed a expert lighting designer and that's exactly what I got! You can't go wrong with Northwest. Well they sent us our brand new chandeliers and fixtures that have dents,cracks and rips multiple times. They said they inspected the chandelier, but they didn't because when we opened the last one , this is the 3 rd time better quality we where told, it was perfectly packaged from the manufacturer. I can't tell how upsetting this has been. Our sales man David K. really was a disappointment. He said part of the reason our products have issues is because they are mid quality. Mind you we spent thousands of dollars . So we went to a higher quality and the chandelier still came bent. The only reason I gave them two stars is because their prices are lower than their competitors, but not worth the aggravation . Wouldn't use them again read more

Northwest Lighting and Accents is a one-stop, top notch spot for anyone who is remodeling or building a home. My husband and I received excellent technical and decorating consultation there. David, knew all the answers to the technical questions my husband, an engineer, asked him. He also introduced us to the most current technologies that are available in lighting and switches. He assisted my husband and me through his extensive knowledge of decorating and lighting to purchase the correct intensity, color and placement of lights in the bathroom. Their prices are reasonable and their quality of merchandise is excellent. They have an extensive showroom and excellent staff. While we were there, my husband went to NW Electrical Supplies that is connected to NW Lighting and Accents and purchased the electrical supplies that he needed.
