I came here precovid last time I came here. But I haven't had a chance to dine here after covid. So, when I found out it was sunnyside restaurant week, I came here with a friend to try it out. It still looks the same, and from what I remember, the food was just as good. I ordered the eggplant dish as an appetizer, and it was a decent size, and it tasted good with the warm bread that they served. For the main course, I ordered the stuffed cabbage that had minced beef inside. It wasn't so bad to eat. For the last course, which was dessert, I got the rice pudding. It was very delicious, and I'm glad that I ordered this versus the baklava. Overall, I was glad that I tried this place and during restaurant week, which was so affordable.

Best Turkish food in Queens! Nice and calm ambient, which is good for family/friends/date. Owner is present and is very attentive and friendly. Service is expedient, with frequent water refills and check ins. They do not rush you out the door once you are done eating. Food is super delicious and fresh! We started off with fresh bread, salad, and mixed appetizers. We had a mixed grill as the entree, and baklava and homemade rice pudding with Turkish tea for dessert. My partner had a mixed cherry and peach juice, which was tasty. Will definitely be back!

Love this place so much! Got a variety of their dips - Lebni, humus, eggplant salad, tabuleh and more and they were one better than the next. Then we had the mixed grill which hit the spot and was totally shareable. Sarah the owner is a gem of a human and there's a reason this place has been around for 20 years, it's because she's doing everything right - Highly Recommend

Popped in on a Monday @8pm and it was just us and a family of 4. We were served water immediately and given ample time to look at the menu. We ordered a large shepherd salad ($14), 2 lahmacun and an adana kebab. The salad was good but lacked some vibrancy, more lemon juice would have been good. Also they used dry sumac which left a weird "bite" to the salad. The lahmacun was probably my favorite with parsley, onion and tomato on the side. The adana kebab was slightly salty for me but my bf said it was fine when eaten with the rice and salad. Overall, it's close to where we live so worth coming back but 3.5/5 for food quality. The server was super friendly though and very attentive.

This place is just a block away from where I live and I always wonder to try their food. This is not my first time trying Turkish Food, I have been living in Turkey back then and really in love with their cuisine. I had lunch special doner wrap. It's huge portion for me. For the flavor is just okay though but they put so much meat in it. My friend had Iskender kebab. It's good but we expected we could get salad and rice. Oh not to forget, their bread is so good and so soft. I can tell it's very fresh from the oven!

We ordered the et doner and a small appetizer of mix dips such as hummus, eggplant dip and etc to share. The fresh bread was perfect for the appetizer and the et doner was thinly sliced beef cooked perfectly. Waitress was friendly and items were very affordable. Would definitely revisit to try their other items.

3.5 Stars but I'll round up to 4: It's been a few years since we've returned to Turkish Grill! The restaurant hasn't really changed except the prices/portion sizes. Prices have increased while portion sizes have decreased! I know times are rough but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!! Here is our menu tonight: Mixed Appetizer - all delicious: ~ Lebini (thick homemade yogurt w/walnuts, garlic and dill) ~ Humus (mashed chick peas blended w/fresh garlic , tahini and herbs) ~ Eggplant Salad (smoked eggplant w/peppers, onion, parsley, fresh dill and lemon juice) ~ Tabuleh (bulgur wheat w/parsley, scallions and a touch of olive oil) ~ Piyaz ( white beans w/onion, parsley with olive oil and vinaigrette dressing) ~ Babaganush (smoked puree eggplant, sesame oil, lemon juice and a hint of garlic) Sigara Borek (light pastry dough stuffed w/a blend of feta cheese and fresh herbs) - this was disappointing. I remember loving it in the past. Not so much on this visit. Homemade Manti (Turkish style dumplings. A light dough stuffed w/seasoned, ground lamb and onions; steamed to perfection; served with garlic yogurt and special buttered tomato sauce) - this was the best dish of the night! Delicious. Shish Kebab (Marinated baby lamb cubes grilled on skewers; Served w/rice, grilled peppers, tomatoes & seasoning) - l used to love this dish but this time it was a little overcooked. Dessert: Kunefe ( shredded wheat w.cheese homemade yogurt w/walnuts, garlic and dill) - soooo good! This was actually a large portion!

Went here as a family of 7 on a Saturday night at 8:30 pm, and were seated right away. It's a small, cozy place and the place started getting busy after 8:45/9 pm with not much seating left by 9:15 pm. We ordered a few things, including the Sheesh Kabab, Adana Kabab, and while ordering, our waitress mentioned that Chicken Gyro was their daily special. I ordered the Gyro with Salad (which normally comes with rice). The Gyro was ok when it warm and became very difficult to eat once it was a little colder. It didn't really have much of a taste and I wish it was a little juicier so it would've been a little easier to eat! Main course on an average is about $15 Service was good overall and we had a pleasant experience.

Then, mid-appetizer order, the manager suddenly told us we only had 90 minutes! We got a nice window seat and our waitress was very attentive. The food was excellent--highly recommend the mezze platter, the chicken kebab, and the flavorful kofte kebab lamb patties with bean salad. The second you sit down, you're asked for your drink order. They bring you a name brand bottle of water instead of offering tap water, which of course goes on the bill. When our waiter removed the appetizer plates, he said our entrees would be out in 5 minutes. We had 2 healthy sized appetizers so I said, we need a little more time. Can you push it out by an extra 5 minutes? And they did. But, as soon as you're done with the entree, a different waiter shows you a dessert plate. I said we needed a little time to decide. She comes back in literally under a minute. I said, you were just here, we need a minute to decide. My companion and I decided on a dessert to share, but less than 2 minutes later, the check arrives by someone else. Case closed! Food was excellent so I gave this restaurant a 3 star, but the extremely rushed service made for a very uncomfortable experience. I've been to this restaurant a number of times and I've recommended it. But it's generally the same feeling each time. This was the worst in terms of rushed service. I had a 6:30 pm reservation on a Saturday night and the place was packed when we left. I guess they don't have to worry about my review. But, I'll never go back.

The host was attentive, and we were seated right away--always a good start. I was a little surprised when the server handed us the menus and we opened the front flap to discover... tablets. That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

I did not appreciate the way she spoke to me and the attitude I received to the point my friends and I were in shock and after paying left most of our last drinks on the table because we had had such a poor experience at this restaurant. I understand it was one of the first nice days here in NYC and there were a lot of people sitting outside. I cannot believe that we did not even speak to our waitress until over an hour after sitting down. typically you at least stop by the table quickly to apologize and get a drink order. while I can be accommodating to the fact that the waitress said she was new, and she was apologetic as well as the manager's offer to comp one round of drinks, I am not understanding of the bartender's approach to argue with me about how a drink is made. cannot recommend going here until they get better service.
