The waiters love to fill up your glass with water even if its 3/4 filled. Warm fresh bread is brought to the table with olive oil. It's a nice touch. We started with the Mediterranean salad and the cold mezze which came with tabouleh (parsley salad), baba ganoush, hummus and tzatziki. All these were perfect creamy and tangy. The tabouleh was fresh but I found a small stone in it. The Mediterranean salad was fresh and not overpowered by too much feta. We also got the calamari which was bland and oily. I do not recommend it. Ok the mains were really good. We ordered the mixed grill, chicken kabob and Bety kabob (kofta). All dishes came with rice and salad. Meats were grilled perfect and had no fat. Big meal but actually felt light. The meats were flavored lightly meaning they were not overpowered by spices. The dessert - kunafah with cheese is a must get if your looking for a crispy cheesy sweet punch. Get some tea or coffee with it to lighten the syrupy flavor. The waitress isn't mean but definitely needs a lesson on customer etiquette. Every request we had was a direct 'no' instead of let me see what I can do or im sorry it's too late. Went there for lunch. Food was great! I loved the Shepard salad and the chicken adana was great as well. Price is moderate and the place is nice. Good for a date as well as groups. Service was good but I felt rushed as the waiters kept asking if we need anything and if they should take away our plates within 15 min of us getting our food! They were not rude at all. We used to eat at this place regularly as it's our neighborhood Turkish restaurant. Sadly past year the quality of food is consistently declining. Today we ordered delivery for two orders for findik lahmacun, babaganoush, eggplant with sauce and liver cubes. First of all instead of two orders of findik lahmacun they brought only one. It downsized in half since the last time we ordered it. It was tiny so we complained about it when we called to tell about missing order. They sent missing part slightly bigger but still much smaller from what they used to sell. Eggplant with sauce tastes like two days old-definitely not fresh as we used to eat it a lot. Babaganoush tastes sour and liver cubes are just so covered with dry herbs and spices that it's not edible. We got so upset we wanted to pack everything back and sent it with the returning guy. After all we called Mangal kebab couple blocks down and ordered some decent Turkish good from there. Our night was ruined because of one of the waiters. There were 2 waiters, one bald chap and one with a beard. The bald one was quite pleasant and witty with a great sense of humor. I'm not sure why it took me so long to finally come here but I'm just glad I finally did. I came here with family from out of town who are particular with what they eat. No pork, no shellfish. While I still love to eat everything. There's certainly something for everyone here and unlike many many places, Turkish Grill gets every dish tasting delicious. There was nothing that we ordered that didn't taste absolutely amazing. Meats were all cooked to a point where they were succulent and full of flavor. Nothing was overdone in terms of the food. In terms of the service, some of us had gotten there quite a bit earlier and as soon as we all arrived a server came up with a big smile to greet us and help us. It's such a refreshing change of pace compared to the typical ho-hum - doing such a big favor - attitude of servers when it comes to having to wait for a group to collect. Dishes were explained as they were placed down which is always a nice touch and the server kept out of sight while we were deep in conversation and present when there was significant pauses. That's the proper attention. For that alone I'm a total fan of this place. This unpretentious and easy to miss spot on Queens Blvd has some of the best Turkish food I have ever tasted! Came here the other day with my.cousins who are visiting from out of town. None of us ever had Turkish food but I thought this may be a nice place to try out since I always walk past it and it is always busy. They have a very good lunch special that includes an appetizers, entree and soda. I had the donar kebab with the roasted eggplants appetizers, my female cousin the beyti entree with yogurt appetizer, and male cousin the chicken kebab with eggplants salad. All were thoroughly satisfied. I esp loved my roasted eggplants and the yogurt was very rich and delicious, great to dip with their complimentary bread. None of us are big fans of olives but we actually enjoyed the olive oil dip that came with the bread. Wait staff were attentive and courteous. As a note to the reviewer that claimed to experience racism - I can't speak on your experience; however, my cousins and I are all Asian and we never felt slighted at all during our lunch here. First of all, I ordered Chichen Adana which comes with side of onion, red cabbage and rice so I asked our waitress if she can substitute the cabbage and onion with plain salad( lettuce)since I cannot eat it because I have stomach problem and give me high acidity. She said that they cannot do this, but she suggest to have a small Mediterranean salad as a side dish for $7 which was totally fine for me. When she brought the salad it was made with red cabbage and I was in shock! If I ordered without cabbage for my main course, how is posible to bring my salad with cabbage? And did I mention, their bread is amazing, you'd rather order the bread with a appetizer to eat your bread with than anything else. It's unlimited bread. I have been here a few times and it's been consistent every time. The waiters are super nice, friendly and always a great helpful. The food is delicious and plenty and the bread is fresh and really amazing. They participate in Sunnyside Eats which is a greate value. We always share appetizers and absolutely love their hummus (super fresh and fluffy) and the Lebni are my favorite. Baba Ganoush is good but not outstanding as the other two. I ordered the Iskender Kebab which I loved and most of the table had ed the doner kabab.
