Came here looking for a local Indian place. When I arrived some other people had ordered the tandoori chicken platter and I was immediately impressed as it came out sizzling and steaming. Service was quick as it should be, the dining area is not large; they do make sure to find out what is your spice level with orders. I ordered a veggie korma and dahl tadka and naan. Each entree comes with rice, which I didn't know. While waiting I saw a lot of people come in to pickup to go orders. They treat everyone politely and it makes the vibe feel good. My food came out pretty quick and was hot. I didn't love the korma, though it wasn't bad. The dahl was very nice. This is somewhere I would try again. read more

First time eating in here. The food was delicious. Good heat and beautiful flavors from the Indian spices. My daughter and I had Saag Paneer and Butter Chicken. Both were delicious and very flavorful. The turmeric rice was tasty not dry and had lots of subtle flavors. We also had the plain naan and it was yummy. I had the Mango Lassi and enjoyed its creaminess. Overall it passed my teenagers muster and we agree to return again soon for the weekend lunch buffet so we can sample more dishes. read more

They have a buffet on the weekends now! Yeah! The food is authentic Indian food. So yummy and delicious! The Spinach Saag is my favorite along with the chicken tikka. Everything is so flavorful. I went back for seconds which was enough for me. The meal also came with a delicious chai and coconut cake dessert with ice cream!! Butter chicken and rice packed the richness and aromatics I was hoping for. It almost seemed watered down. While the volume was filling for the value, I'd rather pay a little more for better quality. The service was also not so great. They had a dirty ordering screen in the front and did not greet me or say a word while I waited for my food. The kitchen looked unkempt as well. In my opinion, they could tighten up ship here with a warm greeting, a few extra aromatics and salt, and cleanliness. Ordered online: 2 butter chicken 1 chicken tikka masala 1 tandoori chicken Garlic naan Cheese naan ~$95 Unfortunately nothing was good. Visually the color was pretty to look at, but nothing like any other butter chicken I've had before. The curry tasted very watered down and flavorless, and the naan was undercooked inside. Tandoori chicken was ok. When I went in to pick up they had the stove pulled out and had a big ladder in the middle of the kitchen with 3 guys standing around, so maybe they had issues in the kitchen and this is not the norm. The guys in there were nice, but the food was seriously disappointing after a long day. I felt bad for my family who were looking forward to some good food. Food is flavorful and rich, and the seasoning and spices blend perfectly for a an explosion of flavor. All the classics are very well executed. The best of the best is the tandoori chicken. It has a slight difference with the usual right of the tandoor "dryer" chicken. It is rubbed with a spicy red sauce, making the chicken super moist and tasty. Good rice, seasoned, with a bit of tooth. The Aloo Gobi dish is AMAZING. I am a meat eater but that dish is SO flavorful and rich, you don't miss the protein. Gosh, I don't like writing this because I want to help a small business, but the purpose of this site is also to save the consumer money...I went here for the weekend buffet. The choices were few and the flavor was dull. Indian food is typically full of flavor. Me and my dining companion were very disappointed. I have been eating Indian food since childhood and grew up in an area adjacent to "Little India", this food is subpar and although the owners were nice, we were pretty much ignored. Where I live now, there are plenty of Indian places, I mean there are more than 5 places that quite closer and tried 3 different places within past few months, I came back here again. Not only the owner is the nicest and sweetest lady, she also shared the philosophy of "Turmeric" elements on the the interior and decorations. All the color represents the whole turmeric plants, the leaves and even the flowers. I always support women owned business and the buffet was good and mild enough for the first timer like my friend who can't tolerate spicy :) The buffet consists of 4 veggies and 4 meats dish, desserts, naan, and also hot chai tea. The chai tea was good and it wasn't overpowering like some other places I've been. My fave is always chicken madras and butter chicken. If you would like to host a party, they also serve catering. PS: If you look at my reviews at other Indian and himalayan food places, this is the only place I give 5 stars, because it was authentic and you can even see the cloves, the cardamom and other spices in your food, they dont play with instant and powder spices. Turmeric is playing important role in making curry and in ayurveda, it's a golden spice. I will comeback often on the winter time. General advice is that you shouldn't go grocery shopping hungry, so we checked out this place for dinner before our Ralph's trip in the same plaza. It's right next to a boot camp, so you hear them on the mic the whole time while you guiltily consume calories instead of burning them. Order at the register. I wanted to try a lamb dish, and the lady working recommended the lamb curry. We also got the butter chicken. Both came with rice. We also got the garlic naan. I like spicy, but don't tolerate more than mild, so we got 3 out of 10 spicy. It was nearly too spicy. Flavors of the sauces were good, but both the lamb and chicken meat itself were dry. Regardless of my number of check-ins, I have been here four times; served thrice by the owner and his wife, and by new people my most recent visit. Today, the food was far less salty than two of my previous visits (the owner having a heavy-hand with spices too). I probably would've plunked down 3 stars if it was salty again (last time, the briyani was nearly inedible and I ended up tossing some of it). I have had: chicken briyani, garlic naan, mango lassi, samosas (my go-to at any Indian restaurant- these are huge with thick wrappers), shahi paneer (tomato cream sauce, fantastic!) and gulab jamun (plain and cream-filled, they are just okay). I would prefer the plain gulab jamun to not be ice-box cold and so hard. I actually came here because of a fellow Yelper's enthusiastic review (thank you, Mr. A!) but it was challenging to visit when they closed midday. Yay for being open more hours! I'll admit that service is very slow; it doesn't matter how many guests are here, it takes upwards of 30 min. to receive food. Points for being freshly made though. Overall, this is a hole-in-the wall where food is made with love. I'll certainly be back. They accommodated dietary restrictions for my group, and suggested reasonable quantities to order with good variety via text in preparation for the event. At the event they delivered the food on time and fresh and even set up the buffet line for us. They were very professional and great to work with - and the food was a big hit! In general, NEVER judge a book by its cover.....except when you walk by Tumeric Hut. The smell lures you in, and food keeps you coming. Chicken Tikka Masala - the seasoning is perfect! the chicken was tender and juicy. If you're new to curry, try the Tikka Masala. I got spice level 5, but if you're not a fan of spice, stay in the level 1 or 2 range. Its alot spicier than other level 5's I've had, but still delicious. The kheer is amazing. I've had kheer in many places, and this one is definitely top 3. The seasoning used give it a unique flavor from other restaurants. When in Rome...I tried the Taj Mahal beer and was not disappointed. Its light, crisp, and flavorful. I wish they sold 6-packs of it. read more

I trusted the reviews and really wanted some good Indian food and nothing went right. understand food in the states will never be as good as food in India but this was the worst we've ever had in San Diego. It's in the same shopping center as Lowe's. We got the madras lamb curry, butter chicken, papdi chat, plain naan & aloo paratha! Everything was so tasty!
