This is the place. Broadway and 2nd street in Santa Monica.

Ice cream combined with warm doughnuts. What a concept. Service was on point, the place is clean and well lit.

Super bright fun environment! Yummy shakes, ice cream and tea options. Friendly service. I love this addition to Broadway!

Turn Dough is a brand new spot to get sweet treats in Santa Monica! I've walked past this a couple of times per week for the last several months, and the 4th of July is the first time I've seen it open, so I decided to give it a shot! The menu has several options including boba teas, coffee, and crepes, but the soft serve section offers the biggest variety of options. Choose between about 15 menu options, or build your own, add toppings, flavor drizzles, and add a cinnamon sugar chimney cone filled with a spread of your choice (Nutella, cookie butter, or dulce de leche). The soft serve flavors are vanilla gelato or pineapple Dole whip. Toppings include fresh fruit, Oreos, sprinkles, nuts, cereals, M&Ms, and other options, and chocolate, caramel, and raspberry are the drizzle sauce options. For those looking for something crazy, Turn Dough also lets you add edible 24K gold and/or CBD oil, though I didn't try either. For those looking for something less crazy or messy, milkshakes are an option as well. While at first glance it's a little expensive, the serving sizes are definitely big enough to split between two people, especially if you "make it upside down," which gets you a little extra ice cream for $1. (Note that the edible gold specialty option starts at $32.90, it's definitely its own category.) You can tell this is new -- it's super clean, and there isn't a single table to sit inside, just a couple of stand up counter spaces. Hopefully they add some tables soon to encourage more people to eat inside. Overall, I thought the gelato creation was tasty. It's a lot of sugar (yes, ice cream usually is, but all the toppings, sauces, and chimney cone made it feel especially sweet, even to a sweet tooth like me), but a yummy cold treat for a summer day. I'd certainly return again.

Fun, happy, Barbie Pink ambience! The Turn Dough refers to the soft doughy sugary cone," trdelnik' made popular in Prague has now landed in Santa Monica! Prices are expensive, but you get a fun creative, over the top creation! I would want to have seating inside to enjoy my soft serve ice cream, but ... that is just me.

Order and pay at the counter and find a table indoors or outside. Both areas are nice, however inside, the noise level is a wee bit louder, however I haven't had any issues having a conversation with a friend. For those with sensitive ears, just sit outside. One can come here for coffee. Free refills! You can ask for a cup ( their cups are glass), but the coffee doesn't stay warm long. If you plan on sitting there and don't mind a paper cup To Go, order your coffee in a To Go cup. Food: each time I have ordered food to eat there, it arrives promptly and presented beautifully. Their sandwiches are made with their house made bread! Delicious! Try to save room for one of their pastries or desserts. Tartine is an oasis to relax, unwind, catch up with friends, people watch. I refused to pay for his demand and he told me I am banned from the parking lot. He is on crack. Shame because tartine will lose clients because of this dudes behavior. I used to go several times each week but I can't deal with this guy making up rules depending on whether he likes you or not.

The cottagecore lover in me was screaming internally at the perfectly cozy and beautiful ambiance. My friend and I met up for afternoon tea over the weekend and had made a reservation in advance, so we were promptly greeted and seated. Parking in the area isn't too bad; there is metered parking on Montana, but I've been lucky with finding residential street parking both times. My friend and I weren't super hungry, so we split an afternoon tea set, which ended up being the perfect amount of food. The set came with 3 sandwiches, 1 empanada, 1 scone with clotted cream and jam, and 3 sweet treats, as well as a tea blend of our choice. Our waitress recommended the Persian blend and noted that it was the most popular option. I was a little hesitant at first since I don't like ginger, but she reassured me that the ginger wasn't too prominent and that the flavors were well balanced. We ended up going with her suggestion, and she was right: it was deliciously earthy with a hint of spice. All 3 sandwiches were delicious, but my favorite savory pastry was hands down the empanada. The minced chicken filling was both tender and well-seasoned, which perfectly blended with the buttery and flaky crust. I liked that they provided chimichurri on the side for dipping! I enjoyed all of the sweet pastries as well and was particularly impressed with how rich and fudgy the brownie was. We devoured just about every last crumb of the set! Throughout the afternoon, our server stopped by routinely to check in and refill our teapot, and I appreciated her warm demeanor. At around $60, the price is a tad bit steep (especially since people usually order 1 set per person), but I don't think it's unreasonable for the experience and the area. I'm glad we were able to split a set, and my friend and I both had a lovely afternoon here. Until next time!

In comparison to other bagel shops in LA, this spot falls right in the middle. Unfortunately, what…read morereally holds it back is the price point and the overwhelming hype--both from long lines and TikTok buzz--that doesn't quite match the experience. The scale tips more toward the downside when it comes to the bagels themselves. The toppings aren't particularly unique, or consistent, and the bagel had a noticeably firm texture that didn't stand out in a good way. What initially drew me in--and ultimately prompted this review, my first review--was the coffee. After trying 50+ coffee shops over the past 2 years alone, I can honestly say this was one of the more disappointing lattes I've had. I ordered a whole milk latte, and the best way to describe it is simply: watery. It wasn't milk-forward, not sweet, and surprisingly not even very coffee-forward. Instead, it had a slightly herbal, almost oily, burnt-bean flavor that felt diluted with water. I also ordered the carrot cake latte, which had the same base issue. The carrot cake foam helped mask it a bit, but it tasted more like a strong sugar cookie flavor than anything close to carrot cake. In the end, giving grace, perhaps it was just a "bad barista day". Overall, it's not terrible--but definitely not worth the hype or the price. *If visiting on the weekend arrive before 9:30 to beat the line if you dare.*
