Sharetea was on our way back after walking around Santa Monica Pier. We decided to drop by to get us some drinks before we continued our walk. There was 4 self-order kiosks. It wasn't too busy so we came right up to one of the screens and ordered Okinawa Milk tea with boba and Mango Green tea. The drinks came out quickly considering ours was the only order at the time. They called our numbers and off we went to enjoy the drinks. The Okinawa Milk tea was a bit more tart than your regular milk tea and the mango Green tea is perfect at 80% sweetness and less ice. The place is really small, there's a few cute photo ops and some benches to wait while the drinks are being made but there isn't actually a place to sit. read more

I liked it! Though I had a pretty hard time deciding what to order at first. I asked a staff member if they could make the pearl milk tea with oat milk, but I found out their milk teas use creamer instead of real milk. So I asked if they had anything made with real milk, and he said, "Everything under the fresh milk section." I ended up getting the fresh milk milk tea with boba. He told me oat milk doesn't come with that one, but I said it was fine. I also asked if it was good, and he just mumbled, "I don't know," which was kinda funny. I was so excited to find out that there is a Sharetea near Santa Monica Pier. It is literally a couple blocks from the pier. My eldest daughter and I were at the pier for a CHLA Walk & Play LA fundraising event back in May 2024. I made sure we got some boba drink after the event so here we are... It took us less than 10 mins to walk from the pier to Sharetea. It's a small shop compared to other Sharetea locations. Staff was friendly and greeted us upon entry. I knew exactly what I wanted which was the QQ Happy Family Milk Tea with all the toppings that come with it plus 100% sweetness and no ice. My daughter got the Peach Green Tea with aiyu jelly plus 100% sweetness and no ice. We were the only customers in the shop at the time so it didn't take them too long to make our drinks. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my QQ Happy Family. I was not very happy LOL. It was not sweet at all. It was the worst QQ Happy Family that I have ever drank and I've drank quite a number of them. I still drank it though... I didn't want it to go to waste. It was just an unsweetened QQ. My friend and I were walking around downtown Santa Monica and stumbled upon this boba place! They had an impressive menu and add on options but I opted for a sweeter, chocolatey boba. (they also have coffee options if that's your jam!) I really loved the taste of my drink! The foam was bit too sweet for my liking but it was good. They also give you a pretty large portion for the prices too which is always great. They didn't have any seating options inside but we were walking along anyways so it was okay. There isn't really any street parking in this area as it's super touristy and near the pier, so this place was more of a place you'd go out of convenience of being in the area rather than going here specifically. Yay finally a legit boba shop in Santa Monica! At a great location to introduce bubble tea to the tourists too LOL. It's a small to go space and the workers are nice and friendly. I'm so glad they marked the caffeine-free drinks on the menu, because I stopped by after dinner (at Kazunori across the street) and I can't have caffeinated drinks too late. They have one size here (large) and the standard options for sweetness (100%, 80%, 50%, 30% and 0%) and ice amount. I got the winter melon milk tea ($5.75) with boba (+ $0.75), less sweet (80%) and less ice. It was delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness for me (I think people who are sensitive to sweet could go down to 50% or less, since I like my boba on the sweet side). They do use paper straws here, yay for the environment! I had trouble poking in my straw though, but funny enough they anticipated that and have little disposable poking tools to help. Honestly very upsetting. Let me explain. There's an iPad ordering area outside the store, probably for faster ordering.. which is nice. But they need to make some updates. I wanted to order an oolong milk tea with mini pearls instead of regular boba. For the "milk tea with pearls" option, you can't sub mini boba for the regular boba so I put in an order for regular "milk tea" and added mini pearls to my order. Which is already confusing af.. When I got my order, half my drink was boba (see pic).. the reason why I wanted mini pearls was because I didn't want that much boba in the first place. Instead what they did was put regular boba in my drink and then added mini pearls on top of it. Who in their right mind would want that anyway? So instead of asking me if that's what I wanted, they made my drink and tried to play it off like it was my fault for selecting the wrong thing? And look, maybe I didn't order it properly on the iPad but if someone orders double boba (in different sizes too lol), maybe ask if that was what I meant to do? Anyway, I asked nicely if they were able to remake my drink since my drink wasn't even drinkable (drinking different size bobas together at the same time is weird) and the rude girl at the counter says "as you can see we're very busy so no". It was at night, it wasn't busy and the attitude was unnecessary.
