Also happy they extended their hours to fulfill dessert cravings. Food: This location offers unique gelato options that you can sample and my favorite seasonal series includes the pistachio matcha that has genuine nutty flavor despite being a bit grainy, complements the matcha very well and is my go-to order when I see it on the menu since it's hard to find elsewhere. Double jasmine milk tea with jasmine "silk boba" (more of a jelly) has great tea flavor as well and 50% default perfect sugar is good, though jelly doesn't have a distinct jasmine flavor in my opinion. When it's cold out, also love getting the hot version of the jasmine milk tea. Miss the coconut sugar boba option that was more unique but got replaced with brown sugar boba which is sweeter. The Sawtelle location had an Iron Buddha Wintermelon that was a good balance of sweetness with tea flavor that the Santa Monica one doesn't have unfortunately. All in all, really happy to have such a solid boba spot in a very easily accessible location in Santa Monica.

To be fair, they do offer some matcha varieties I haven't seen elsewhere. You can order via touchpad or speak with an employee. I spoke with an employee because I wanted extra-sweet boba tea. The guy I spoke to seemed a little confused, but I got my boba tea in about 5 minutes. It tasted like Lipton tea. And it wasn't even very sweet. I honestly drank about a 1/3 of the drink before tossing it in the trash. Not recommended.

That said, the owners were some of the kindest people I've met, and that genuinely made the experience so much better. Good customer service and warm, welcoming people really do make a difference. You can tell they care about their customers. Even though the boba wasn't exactly my preference, I still left with a positive impression because of how nice they were.

Inside smelled weird, we weren't really sure why, but it smelled like Play-Doh? So somewhat underwhelming interior. You order at self service kiosk switch is convenient and you can adjust the sweetness levels, ice and toppings. I got the coconut ube smoothie with Boba, and friends got the matcha milk tea and Biko pandan. When the drinks are being made, I saw behind the counter, and saw the syrups - like the coffee/Italian soda syrups - which was disappointing. The coconut ube was good but very sweet despite getting 75% sugar - must've been the coconut syrup. The biba was great though, super fresh soft boba which really saved the drink. The matcha was somewhat bland. But the Biko pandan was nice.

It has so much pop of color, so much flow, so much good energy. Though, it was very busy in design, it was still a very chill place to be, very relaxing. The service was fantastic, the young lady who helped me was so kind and patient with me. I was down to my last $13 for my trip and I wanted dessert. She helped me make the right decision for me. She was really great, I really appreciate her, and I didn't even spend the whole $13. Prices are reasonable there. I got the dolewhip in the cone with almonds, mini mochi, and caramel. So delicious. It was indeed made with love, as it was made to order. I got lucky with my photos because a huge crowd came in after I placed my order, so don't let my photos fool you. This place does get busy. There were six people when I got there that were leaving and about twelve when I left. I highly recommend Turn Dough if you want a refreshing treat, especially to walk around at the promenade or Ocean Ave.
