A food truck with parking is a necessity and I'm glad Turo's Tacos has the lot. I've never really seen it super packed-- so the order is swiftly made. There are tables and seats if you want to eat there but keep in mind some of the seats are wobbly. I personally wouldn't eat here but there for those who are interested, there's also entertainment available such as tvs, pool table, etc. I've tried both the shrimp fries and steak fries, and would definitely prefer the bite with the shrimp fries more.

Now, when you're talking about taco trucks, you really have to know what you're doing especially out here in the East bay. Well, you can tell them that Darryl sent you when you go to Turo Tacos. They have a great sitting area outside that's fully covered where you can sit in the shade and they have a pool table some video games and it's a great atmosphere. You don't have to worry about your car. You can see your car while you're there no problem. Everything is good. Turo Tacos is the truth on Bancroft right before you get to Durant near 106 pull up. Give them your order. I usually like to get my mom a couple of shrimp tacos and one steak I get a couple of steak and one shrimp and my wife likes the steak. So just tell them what you want the way they make it or even special orders, my mom asked for hers crispy. She likes the shells crispy the taco shells but yeah they're great. This is a spot. Come check it out if you didn't know now you know. Stay tuned for some more pictures !

Food is super hearty, only come here on an empty stomach cuz it is heavy! Juicy tacos and loaded fries definitely can't go wrong Feels like a backyard picnic with a pool table and wooden benches, definitely would be an awesome pregame or post-game spot Overall I dig this local business, definitely a go to on a party night

I took a chance on this place due to great reviews and being a follower of Snack Sensei. I ordered the burrito which caught my eye since it hella long, I thought to myself damn it's gonna be a fulfilling lunch. But nope ! Wasn't satisfying it was dry and seemed like it sat for a while. The filling was mostly all rice barely any cheese and I ended up giving the other half to my brother he said the half he got had all the cheese but it still lacked meat and had hella rice . There was barely any sour cream and comes with no guacamole. I have to agree with other bad reviewers who had the burrito it wasn't good. And maybe the other dishes are better due to the great reviews but my review was for the burrito and it was just disappointing.

We want to go back here to try their tacos! This review is for their amazingly tasteful Mulitas and Torta. We got the chicken version for both and they make a great lunch sandwich-like meal. The cheese and chicken blended well in both the bread and tortillas version. The "Super" burrito, a $20 value, is HUGE. It's probably the largest burrito I have had and could easily be a two person meal. We didn't realize this when ordering :). In our drink options, we liked the Horchata over the hibiscus one. Highly recommend this place.

Turo's Tacos opens in a vacant lot. It's corner was once home to a laundry. Only operating business is a liquor store across the street. Offerings: super/shrimp/veggie/steak tacos, burritos, tortas, quesadillas, michelada, dorito nachos, fries, sopes, mulita, burger combos. No price listed. Eats: lengua/spicy pork tacos @3 -semi-generous portions of proteins which were tender, semi-juicy. spicy pork has a slight kick, lengua moist, no unique taste. Tortillas lightly grilled. Salsas added flava. -came with cilantro, raw onions, lime squeeze -condiments of sour carrots, jalepenos, red & green salsa. Chicken mulita (4) -overflowing with queso cheese, filled with tender pieces of chicken. Tortilla slightly warmed. *food traveled well for 15 minutes. Take outs: -ready in 5ish minutes. -4% discount for cash payments. -large tented area for dining. Music in background. -good value, reasonable prices. -Hispanic Heritage Month: 9/15-10/15

Got a burrito here that was amazing! I really want to try their fries next time. They were really quick, and super sweet. The place has a lovely seating area with clean picnic tables under the shade and lots of parking! Good place for a quick bite!

Bottom left corner al pastor and carne asada tacos, cheese fries bottom right corner.

Hidden gem in Oakland - ordered the al pastor and carne asada tacos, al pastor was my favorite! Great yellow corn tortillas with generous amounts of meat. Love to order their steak and shrimp cheese fries with cilantro/onion too! Highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants authentic Mexican street food!

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

Reason why I'd give 3 stars instead of 5 is because 1) almost $5 for one tiny taco is already absurd, and 2) half of the time they charge me for super taco prices just so i can go home and find out they gave me regular tacos - NO cheese, NO guac, NO sour cream. I even asked the dude on the phone how many bags of chips they give for my order so i know if I need to order more, he literally said two bags of chips, and end up giving me just one bag for a total of 4 "super" tacos and one "super" burrito. We are in search of a Baja fish taco that is satisfying since both of the places we loved either closed or stopped serving the baja style. We went to Mersea earlier for the views and to check out TI and it was uninspiring so we rambled back to the east bay and decided to try Mercado. Reviews looked good (thanks y'all, I appreciate you) and despite a few misses on the baja taco (according to some reviews) we decided to take a run at it. The man was feeling jaded after the am stop and wasn't going for the fish, I stayed neutral...no one wants their little taco loving heart broken twice in one day...ultimately, he decided to try the fish taco plate with 1 baja and one grilled. I had the poblano mole tacos w/chicken. We shared the guacamole with chips. I had cafe de olla (it is called something else here) and he had the mocktail with the ginger beer. The ordering at the counter wasn't my favorite but the spot was pretty quiet for a Friday midday and the service was still exceptional. They were attentive and responsive. I would definitely go back at the same time cuz I don't like crowds. On to the food. Dayum! Everything was good. Well seasoned, beautifully plated, and sufficient serving size. I pigged out. For real...I waddled out of that joint. Brought every drop of the leftovers home so I could have the chocolate custard (DAYUM) for dessert with the remnants of my coffee. Him: he preferred the baja style to the grilled fish. As some others have said, it can fall apart (really stuffed with goodness) but he didn't want his fixins on the side. VERDICT: he'll be back for that taco. Me: I enjoyed the mole but the chicken in chunks didn't work for me. I would have preferred it shredded. I'll try something else next time and there will be a next time. Oh, and the black beans and green rice were flavorful as well. Standing order: guacamole and chips Cafe Chocolate custard... What? No pics? Come on now. I wasn't thinking 'bout y'all when my food came. Go take your own pics.

They've also made it to the Michelin Bib Gourmand list several years in a row, so you know the food is going to be legit! They don't accept reservations, so getting there and hoping for a table is your best bet. We were a group of 5, and after about a 20 min wait (pretty much par-for-the-course for a Saturday night), we were seated. They do have tables outside, but we were told that we couldn't start our meal outside and then move to a table indoors after one was available, so we waited. Oh well! As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of online orders, indicating this is a popular place with those in the neighborhood. We got a few beers while we waited for a table. They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!
