Can't miss this giant cone driving by! There is more seating than I initially would've thought. I can imagine it's nice in the warmer months. The staff were super friendly and quick to take my order. I had a small hot fudge sundae with nuts and it came to around $5 (I paid with a card - 3.5% fee) and I thought it was reasonable for what I got. The vanilla custard is delicious and they put a lot of hot fudge and nuts on top I also saw a food truck in the parking lot that seems to currently have limited hours, but would be a nice addition for customers. You order at a window, but there are several tables and chairs scattered around the patio outside for seating. The menus are all posted on the surrounding windows. I'd definitely come back.

Turtle Twist is the cutest little ice cream shop! I ordered the peanut butter cup blizzard, and it was delicious. They have an extensive menu of ice cream, custard, Italian ice, and even some snack food. There's also a drive thru, which is super convenient.

Really cute ice cream place! Make sure you check their website for flavors of the week. It's more of a custard, the taste is definitely richer than regular soft serve and they have good sized portions. I always get the flavors twisted with their vanilla if I can, and they have the old school crunch topping my husband loves. Always coming back to taking the family for ice cream here, everyone is so nice, fair price, good ice cream, and you can tell its locally owned!!

The Turtle Twist is a nice little ice cream shop located just outside of Canonsburg. I've tried their custard cones, malted milkshakes and the Turtle Sundae. They're one of the few places around that have malted milkshakes, which I really enjoy. They have several tables and benches and a decent amount of parking. They also have a drive-thru. The employees are always nice and service is quick. Turtle Twist is a family owned ice cream shop that is worth checking out.

My son loves the soft serve. It's so fresh and tasty. The drive thru is perfect for kids.

The Parmesan roll was great and a good amount of food, especially for just $4. However, the pretzels themselves were pretty disappointing but ok; I couldn't tell the difference between them and microwave pretzels (e.g., super pretzel from when I was a kid). The tomato basil pretzel was a big better with the toppings. Overall, I would get rolls and topped pretzels but pass on the plain or lightly seasoned ones. The service was good and quick (4/5), but they are cash only. They do have an ATM if needed. The interior has a small standing area and is reasonably nice.

Everything was amazing. The pretzels were all well salted, cooked, and presented. The delivery was smooth. I would definitely recommend them for catering. I then went downtown that weekend with friends to grab some other items fresh from the store. DON'T SLEEP ON THEM... no but literally.... If you come down in the afternoon, there will not be any choices. We got there at 3:30 and there were only five pretzels (not five types, but only five pretzels). They make it fresh and it sells. Only issue is that their store is not a place to eat. They only have two small counters against the front windows, and when people are entering and exiting, the door is almost a weapon to people trying to eat inside. But honestly, just get it to go and eat it at home.

We started with a couple of beers and worked our way through the bread basket while trying to decipher the menu and restrain ourselves from ordering one of everything. The basket came with assorted rolls, sweet cabbage, applesauce, and butter, basically enough to make us temporarily forget we still had entrées coming. I ordered the Kase Spätzle: spätzle noodles tossed in a creamy blend of chicken broth and melted Gouda cheese. It was supposed to come topped with buttered breadcrumbs, which sadly never made it to the party. Would they have elevated the dish? Maybe. Did I still scrape the plate like I hadn't eaten in days? Absolutely. It was basically German mac and cheese giving me a warm hug. I swapped the house salad for braised red cabbage, because balance. Hubby went with the Sauerbraten, beef marinated in a century-old family recipe from southern Germany and served with potato pancakes, because if you're going German, you commit. Nothing about the plate screamed "fine dining," but everything tasted hearty, comforting, and made with care. Was it fancy? No. Did we leave happy, full, and slightly considering lederhosen? Yes. Great night all around.

Very few places can cook pork as well as Max's, granted nobody wants undercooked pork chops, but so few places now days can't get the perfect point between undercooked and dried out chewiness. Red cabbage, outstanding! German Potato salad OH MY Goodness! The ambiance makes you feel like you're in the early 1900s. There were so many different generations there. Mom and Dad's with early elementary age kids, young couples, 3 generations out for a family dinner, a dad and his teenage son and us. But the best part was the service. The hostess and our waitress were just so good it seemed like we were having dinner at home and these magical ladies made everything so comfortable. Yeah it was a great birthday dinner!
