Can't miss this giant cone driving by! There is more seating than I initially would've thought. I can imagine it's nice in the warmer months. The staff were super friendly and quick to take my order. I had a small hot fudge sundae with nuts and it came to around $5 (I paid with a card - 3.5% fee) and I thought it was reasonable for what I got. The vanilla custard is delicious and they put a lot of hot fudge and nuts on top I also saw a food truck in the parking lot that seems to currently have limited hours, but would be a nice addition for customers. You order at a window, but there are several tables and chairs scattered around the patio outside for seating. The menus are all posted on the surrounding windows. I'd definitely come back.

Turtle Twist is the cutest little ice cream shop! I ordered the peanut butter cup blizzard, and it was delicious. They have an extensive menu of ice cream, custard, Italian ice, and even some snack food. There's also a drive thru, which is super convenient.

The Turtle Twist is a nice little ice cream shop located just outside of Canonsburg. I've tried their custard cones, malted milkshakes and the Turtle Sundae. They're one of the few places around that have malted milkshakes, which I really enjoy. They have several tables and benches and a decent amount of parking. They also have a drive-thru. The employees are always nice and service is quick. Turtle Twist is a family owned ice cream shop that is worth checking out.

Really cute ice cream place! Make sure you check their website for flavors of the week. It's more of a custard, the taste is definitely richer than regular soft serve and they have good sized portions. I always get the flavors twisted with their vanilla if I can, and they have the old school crunch topping my husband loves. Always coming back to taking the family for ice cream here, everyone is so nice, fair price, good ice cream, and you can tell its locally owned!!

My son loves the soft serve. It's so fresh and tasty. The drive thru is perfect for kids.

The menu sold us - and we had an evening we've been reminiscing about for the past three years. We were able to return this year - with a larger group of friends - and it was worth the wait (though I hope it won't be another three years before I can come back!). I made a reservation for a dozen of us, from around the country, various ages, various palates. We had a nice table set for us, with a WONDERFUL server who could not have been kinder (and shame on me for not remembering her name - Friday the 28th, you were GREAT). The drinks were fantastic and I think we could have stuffed ourselves with apps alone. Every single one of us was both excited to share our dish but also hopeful we'd get the last bite after it made its way 'round the table. Dinners were FANTASTIC. I will be dreaming of my corned beef and cabbage sandwich for weeks and even months. People raved about their herring and their potato-pancake-reuben and their spaetzle and sausages... it's hard to take a large group out to a place and have every person leave incredibly happy *and* wanting to return on our next trip to Pittsburgh. LEAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT! It's hard, but it's worth it. This is just such a great-little old-school, neighborhood-restaurant, everything-is-tasty, magical-night-out. Five stars? Yes. Not because it's a Michelin dining, formal, stuffy, dress-up place. But five stars because the food and service is WONDERFUL. Again, pretty fantastic to satisfy a dozen people who will all gladly return next time they're in the city for work. Thank you for taking such good care of our group and for being even better than I remembered. A trip to your restaurant is worth a return trip to Pittsburgh!

The inside is on the darker side with old fashioned wood paneling and there's a bar along with booths and quite a few tables in different rooms. Our server was very kind and patient. The prices here are very reasonable; we spent about $200 total with tax and tip for six people including drinks and dessert! Everything we got really hit the spot and my favorites were the beer sampler, stuffed pretzels, käsespätzle, sausages, and schnitzel. We had to finish our meal with a sweet treat and we all enjoyed the black forest cake!

The wurst plate was the best sausage I have had in a while. A thick casing and flavorful meat. The potatoes were fluffy and the sauerkraut was pungent and delicious. You can get a spicy mettawurst - highly recommend! Salmon was cooked well and was a bit sweet with the sauce on top. The black forest torte was a large portion. Super good. Creamy and spongey cake. They will even pack it up and bring it out for you if you are too full!

She made sure my drink was always filled and out checked in on us alot. I realized I'm not a fan of German beer or food as a vegetarian. I had the super sampler. The pretzels are really good. The fried pickle spears are pretty good as well. Potato pancakes weren't bad but not my cup of tea. Couldn't tell you about the reuben balls but the people at the table said they weren't bad. Just weird. The steak spaetzilwas also a hit at the table. I tried a noodle which was like a dumpling and a mushroom. And again not my cup of tea but the table liked it. Lastly. The beer. People seem to love itbut as an ipa guy it was not for me. I had an original which was not too bad. Then the banana ish one which was not my thing. Either way the vibes made up for everything. It's not their fault it's not to my taste. Fun place just not my thing.
