Great vibes. Super fun seating area and the keg tapping was great. Happy hour deals are really good and love the beer selection. Hope to be back soon.

Hofbrahuhaus is an easy choice when you want German food in Pittsburgh. They have tons of seating, the food is good and the atmosphere is unique. We enjoyed sitting outside on a nice evening. I tried the hot brown for the first time this trip and it was good, but nothing too special, basically just a stack of deli meat and cheese on a potato pancake. Service was excellent as always.

Food was good and tasted authentic. These US locations do a good job of capturing the feel of the original in Munich. Beer was good, had the sommerweizen. There was live music in the dining room while we were there for lunch on a Saturday.

We had a great lunch here last Saturday. Service was great excellent, food and beer were great, everything in the restaurant was clean. We enjoyed our lunch on the covered patio which was pleasant. I enjoyed the Sommer Weizen and jagerschnitzel, and left full! Can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town.

Love me some Schnitzel, and the pierogis and potato pancakes are delectable. You can ask for a side of both apple sauce and sour cream. We walked here after the southside flea market. Atmosphere is fun, they seem to always have something going on. They play sports on the TVs and it's lively on game days.

The beer was delicious, the food was more delicious. and my waitress did a good job. I'm kind of a stickler for a fifth star and what pushed Hofbrauhaus over the top was the live entertainment. The guy took a minute to get ready but when he did he was on it! He went from classic rock to the accordion from one song to the next. I'm not used to seeing a lot of schnitzel on the menu but this place did it right. The Bavarian Jagerschitzel is what I had and it was delicious. If you like German food and ambiance you need to check this place out!

We like to stop here for a little treat. Their cream puffs are so delicious! They have a good selection of beers and sometimes a man plays an accordion and sings beer songs! Service is always really great.

We stopped by on a Tuesday night around 6pm and it wasn't too busy. There were a handful of families there and it looked like there was someone making balloon animals for the kids. The inside is very spacious with tall ceilings and large tables, perfect for big groups. Everyone we interacted with was super nice! We ordered a variety of dishes to try. I will note, the food is pretty brown for the most part and it's almost all heavier items. However, all of it was pretty good! I enjoyed the pork shank, it just fell off the bone. I also enjoyed the sampler platters they offered so that you could try a little of nothing. They also have flavors you can put in the beets - I enjoyed the blueberry in the lager!

Stopped in for a quick appetizer and a beer - the place was absolutely packed, but we grabbed a seat at the bar. Bartender was great. Beer was cold. Service was fast. Went with the soft pretzel appetizer... easily some of the best pretzels and beer cheese ever. Always love visiting Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh. What a treat 10/10.

Enjoyed coming here again. It was my girlfriend's first time. Had to have a lager and giant pretzel to start. The bier cheese and mustard were great for dipping but you could still taste the pretzel. We also had fried pickles but I forgot to grab a pic. I had the Bavarian Jägerschnitzel, which came with warm potato salad and cabbage, and she had the pirogies. We both really enjoyed them. The potato salad had a great sweet and warm vinegar flavor. The schnitzel was cooked well. The pierogis were pillowy and tasty. The live music was great while I was watching ing my march madness bracket bust - thank you St John's. Still amazed that the servers can carry 6-8 liter glasses of beer with one hand.

I love Hofbrauhaus!!! German cuisine, live music and fantastic views of the river. For a fun night in the burg, I recommend going to their outdoor beer garden, where seating is first come first serve and you order directly from the bartender. Hofbrau brews their own beer onsite and has a monthly keg tapping for their specialty beer. If you go, I recommend getting there early as this event is very popular. German food can be very heavy... for something lighter I really like their salads, salmon entree and hefe weizen beer.

For our last dinner in Pittsburgh after a hot day in the sun, we enjoyed a meal at Hofbrauhaus! Ashely was an excellent server and all of the food was delicious. She recommended beers to my parents that they really enjoyed. The ambiance was fun too! Wish we had this back home in CT.

Loud. Live accordion. Drinks good. Food good. Price I guess reasonable for location and portions. Just a little loud...............

Ask the Community - Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh

    Does the restaurant offer Parking?

There is a garage a couple blocks away. As far as I know there is not validation.

Is it first come first served on Saturdays?

Does anyone know how much the beer costs?

Ryan, depending on the bier, hlaf liters are $6-7 ea, liters are $13-14 ea. Thanks!

How long is the wait at 4pm on a Saturday?

Depends on a lot of factors (games in town, time of year, etc), but typically not long at all, if any wait at all. Worth any wait, though.

Do they have a children's menu?

Yes, it's $4.99 and has typical children's menu items...Pizza, hot dogs, junior schnitzel. etc... It's not located on their website, but you can ask for it once you arrive at the restaurant.

Anyone know the correct phone number? The one listed is a fax number ?

Not pictured but you NEED to get a Cindy's Tea when you come here. They sell these in cans as well I always try and grab a pack if we don't bike here! Their crunch wrap is my favorite thing on their menu. If I'm not getting it as my meal I'm forcing it as a table shareable it is that good. Usually I just get their fries with it which is always yummy but this time I tried their mac and it was so delicious! The Chicken Caesar wrap was so good normally I think places never put enough dressing in them but this was perfectly dressed! We tried their Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad and added chicken to it. Idk where I've been but watermelon on a salad?! AMAZING!!! I wouldn't take off or add anything else to this(except chicken clearly lol) it was so refreshing and light and perfect!

This is a little different as they are set up with toast where you scan the QR menu and place your order and then they bring the food or drink to your table. You don't really have a server per se. We came in on a Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock and it was pretty quiet. We chose to sit upstairs and ordered the season of the month chicken wings. It was sour cream and cheddar dry rub. We did get them well done and I'm glad we did because it did make them crunchy here although they still weren't all that crunchy. The dry rub was actually really good, but it was a little bit like eating Cheetos as when you took your fingers away they were covered in orange powder. My husband tried their wheat ale - the easy golden. It was okay, but a little hop forward for him. They did have a arsenal cider on tap so I chose that for my beverage.

Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it.
