Had an amazing Italian Sub overlooking the water. If you're cruising and need a fix of a great sub/grinder/hero/hoagie this is your place. And the beach bar upstairs makes some pretty delicious and strong drinks and you can take your amazing sub upstairs if you choose.

Very very good curry chicken salad. Fresh baked bread and some super nice bottled beverages. Will be back!

Turtle Deli came highly recommended from the owner o the house we're renting here in St. Croix. We stopped in here after a late morning tour of the Cruzan Rum distillery and got out sandwiches to go. This place has a very cool vibe and if it wasn't on a beach in Paradise I'd even say it had a Jersey deli vibe. A word of warning...the place is small on the inside where you order and it gets hot and crowded at lunchtime. With only 3 people there to make sandwiches and take orders the process is slow...but worth the wait. Overall it has a great ambiance as it is located right next to the beach. 8-10 tables to eat outside in the covered picnic area seems to be the right number as long as people don't linger. As we were HOT and I was fighting of the results of the rum tasting at the Cruzan distillery we got our sandwiches to go. These sandwiches are BIG and we were warned they were shareable...and they were. Wifey and daughter just got a turkey, American and lettuce on sourdough and my son and I split the Smokin' Chix - smoked turkey, bacon, smoked Gouda, cole slaw and Russian dressing on sourdough. Both sandwiches were delicious and were just the right size for sharing. Throw in a handful of chips and a beverage and you're ready to jump into whatever you want to do next. I'd probably give these guys five stars (let's say 4.5) if the sandwiches were a little cheaper and they weren't so SLOW because they were packed...$22 was definitely 'Island pricing', but they were Delish!

The BEST and possibly largest club sandwich I've ever had. Was there on a cruise in October 2019 and stumbled on this place. Mom and Pop deli with nearly a dozen home made bread choices, fresh meats and veg. Sandwiches are crafted with love. Bonus there is a cool BIG cat that hangs out. This will be our first stop for lunch when we return November 10 2021.

Freshly baked bread (even Pumpernickel!), freshly sliced meats and cheeses and tasty sauces and veggies. If I lived on the island, this would certainly be a regular hang for me. Love the outside seating area right off the beach and the owners were nice to chat with. The prices are a bit higher than I would typically expect to pay but it was worth it. Expect a bit of a wait because they slice everything up fresh upon ordering.

Hands down, the best club sandwich I've ever had! Great menu and excellent hosts. A relaxing place overlooking the water. Do not miss it

    Amazing sandwiches!!!

The first time we were in St Croix five years ago this place was a hit, and I'm happy to report that nothing has changed! We recently came here for lunch during our stay on STX and the sandwiches were just as amazing as I remember! Probably the best sandwiches on island, I wish this place was on STT!! I got their Turkey Ruben sandwich, and OMG SOOOO GOOD!! The bread is amazing, I think its marbled wheat bread, and I think its home made. Their meats are great quality, and the coleslaw has great flavor. There is also a special sauce on the sandwich that makes it absolutely perfect! The sandwiches are also huge too, you can easily eat just a half and save the other half for later...or if you are super hungry like I was just eat the whole thing! Turtles also has a great location, right on the water in Frederiksted with outdoor seating on the beach under the sea grape plants. You can sit, eat your sandwich, and watch the water for however long you like, its perfect. There's chickens around so you also have entertainment as they go about their business. Also they have a cool mural of a leatherback sea turtle as well on one wall, its an eye-catcher for sure. One thing to remember though they are cash only so be sure to have a few bucks to pay for lunch, don't want to miss out on this awesome place! Next time we come back to STX I will make it a point that we HAVE to come back here because their sandwiches are JUST THAT GOOD!!!

Outstanding sandwiches and the staff was more than friendly.... loved the Club and the Ruben. Fantastic place to have a great relaxing lunch.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. We ate here 3 times on vacation in one week. We went back before we went to the airport to leave! They will make anything you want but their offerings on the board are more than enough. I had the italian hero twice (so huge I was able to eat it for lunch that day and the next!) and I also had the Turtle Sub. My husband made his own up all three times. They bake their own bread, cook their own turkey and get meats from other local places on the island. Portions are HUGE which definitely makes up for the price. I would much rather pay $10 for a sub/sandwich here than a $5 footlong from subway any day of the week. The views are also outstanding from your SHADED table and their beach is very nice. I swam in it and someone else was snorkeling in it. This is a MUST eat at while visiting St. Croix!

Went here for lunch with my family and it was delicious. Some of the sandwiches were very huge portions. When you order, you take what you want and pay on the honor system. The bread was fresh and toasted. After the kids finished eating, they gave them a cookie and brownie (which were both very delicious). Highly recommend it!

    Can't beat this view!

Order ahead, the wait time can be lengthy because they get so busy. Sandwiches are to die for.

We're heading to Beach Side Cafe! Located right on the waterfront, this place has some of the most spectacular views of the ocean that I've ever seen in my life. I mean, come on! We're in the Caribbean. You would expect an absolutely amazing view, and this place delivers! Of course, you can't really have a good meal without some sort of rum drink.. and they have got you covered no matter what you want. They have a good diverse menu of drinks, the staff is super friendly and willing to help you out to decide what poison you want to try, and everything hits on all cylinders. For food, I went with the Smashburger which was huge. Now I've had a lot of smashburgers in the day but this was a lot of meat. The double patties were thicker than a normal Smashburger so it was like the equivalent of four smashburgers in one. Cook to perfection, andiIt comes with fries, but I upgraded to the Caesar salad for a couple bucks more. Let me tell you sometimes you got to be healthy and this Caesar salad made me feel like I was doing my part. We were fortunate enough to be there when the sunset, take a look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. Mean. Food almost got cold while I was standing there gawking at the beauty and Majesty of the sunset here in the Virgin Islands. You would be hard-pressed to find a better place to dine and watch the landscape. Bottom line? How could you not go back here again? The food was great, the staff was friendly and amazing, the drinks were on point, and you couldn't get a better location. Run, don't walk to this place!

Located in this Old Stone building with plenty of other shops. This place was a hidden treasure, very quaint. Very fun. Huge interior. Many places to sit neat and clean and very friendly counter people Make no mistake, this is definitely a tourist spot since it's right off the dock where the cruise ship lands. But I will tell you what this place is worth the crowd. Plenty of inside seating as well as plenty of outside seating on an adjacent patio. I ordered the barbecue chicken sandwich, a bag of chips and a Cruzan Confusion... A very strong alcoholic beverage. One thing I have learned being on St. Croix is things do not happen fast. Best thing to do is drop your expectations. Sit back and just enjoy the experience. With that in mind, I cracked open my bag of chips and started drinking my drink. The chicken sandwich came out and I was so impressed by the size... Huge piece of chicken on the wheat buns with lettuce, barbecue sauce and onion. Absolutely perfect, and the bag of chips was a great compliment as well. Bottom line? If you are down by the docks looking around doing all the tourist activities, this is the place you need to go to get a bite to eat!, so sit back, relax and take a break from the day and enjoy some good food.

Very off-putting and frustrating as you are on an island that barely had 4g cell service most times. I bugged them enough and they made the reservation for me. Funny part is, place was empty. First and foremost, the food was good. More craziness now. They start by telling me to disregard what the menu says as a certain item does not have this side, but another side. We did that for like 4 items. When it came time to order I asked if I could substitute a side of mashed potatoes for what came with that dish. No. No substitutions. They are the ones that started the whole substitutions game. Not very flexible. I could understand it if it was like a Friday or Saturday night, nope, Tuesday. My steak was cooked to perfection and was not over-seasoned. Exactly how I would want a steak. Was so good. Potatoes great as well. Had good lumps with excellent flavor. Same for asparagus. Crab cakes were great as well. They just need to work on their customer service instead of acting like customers were bothering them. I understand that they get drunk and vacation travelers, but we were a super friendly bunch and easy going. Frustrating when the staff set the tone of the experience. Food game is on point here. As long as you are Ok with being talked to in a peasant tone you should be fine. If you are hangry, might try another place as this may put you over the edge. We loved the patio area and the hanging lights. The ambiance was great. Tip: Gratuity was already included in our check. They don't mention it and are limiting themselves on how much we would normally tip. That was on them. Great food though. Just weird practices and attitude at the establishment. Thanks!
