I drove 40 min to get to the Tuscan salon to have an haircut with Stephanie... 5 minutes before I arrived she calls me to tell me she doesn't have time for me as she is doing a color in someone else and cancels my appointment 5 min before the reservation . I gave at least a star because I spoke with a person on 02/25/2016 in the afternoon requesting an appointment for partial highlights and Brazilian blow out. The lady on the phone said someone will call me, but until now I have not received a phone call. I also left a voicemail on the 24th so that someone can get back with me, but that failed as well. I heard and read that you guys are great but I seem to have issues just to get a person to call me so I can get my hair done. I tried calling several times as well on Sunday as the lady stated that they were open but no one seemed to answer the phone. Trisha has been doing my hair since 2007. I have thin, fine hair and require color (foiling). She really was the answer to my prayers! She is into "healthy hair" and I always leave happy. After 4 hours of having this little girl do my hair i couldn't wait to leave, unprofessional, rude, and literally will just try to take your money. She claims to be a "business of integrity" and even told me she would refund me for what she did to my hair, then when i go to get the money she BLOCKS ME !! Are you kidding me? I paid $125 for her to bleach my hair and was so upset i just paid and left, i should have never paid in the first place. I had 3 other stylists look at my hair after this to tell me if i was overreacting and NO i'm not no one could believe what she did to my hair and that i paid. Trisha has been doing my hair for about 9 months. I moved back to the area and it's always hard to find a new person. I was referred to Trisha and have not been disappointed! We have made some pretty drastic changes but have been taking it slow and she always says we can go back to how it was if you are unhappy. I'm in denial that I'm going grey! But she has been very helpful in the transition and always wants to make sure I am happy with the results. If you need to make an appointment you should contact the stylist you want on their direct number. Traci Chepoda did an awesome job on my hair today! She also gave my 4 year old daughter her first trim, which I was super worried about(you'd understand if you knew my daughter.lol). But both of us felt so comfortable the entire time we were there, it didn't feel like we just met Traci. My hair stylist was Chanitha and my experience was awful. I need to preface that I have never written a bad review for anyone or cared too. If I had a bad outcome it was my own fault but this was too much not to warn other people. Upon showing the stylist a reference photo of an all over cool toned blonde she just shut it down right away. Saying no she won't do it and that "a full foil would be better with my natural hair because women try so hard to get it to my color". Well if I wanted my natural color I wouldn't be coming to you in the first place and I have to live with it so I want what I paid for not your opinion. She will only keep talking your ear off in fast sentences so you can't understand and come to conclusion that will only frustrate you then have her say to "Okay?". Like no I want my hair done correctly. Will most likely guilt trip you about the cost of the bleach & tone and why you should do it her way. Hold your ground and be nice. After that it's basically her having conversations with herself about why she's so great at age 50 and her daughter. So you have that to look forward too. Lol Then after the washing process WHILE your are still in that washing station she will then RANDOMLY Comb through your hair leaving so much breakage and damaging your hair even more than you came in. The only thing she did correctly was tone it. The so called highlights are mediocre at best. Not mention when she styled and curled my hair I looked like an 80s rocker. I'm guessing she was fighting me so hard on it because she's not willing to learn new modern techniques and knew she couldn't do it. What a shame and my hair looks pretty much the same but more damage. Don't go here or if you do don't go see her. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I was a little leery when I saw it was above a Dairy Queen, BUT I was pleasantly surprised when I went up the stairs and it was a spa-like salon!! Everyone is so nice and welcoming here. Trisha is the BEST and I trust her to do anything with my hair!! She is awesome and up to date with different hairstyles!:) I finally had my husband start going to her sister, Courtney for his haircuts....she is the only person who can clean up his crazy, thick hair!! This review is for Trisha Altergott at Tuscan Salon....all the stylists work independently at this salon, including setting their own prices. Trisha came recommended from a close friend, and she lived up to her reputation. She is an incredible hair cutter....took my massacred hair from a really bad cut and brought it back. I am naturally curly, so my hair is tricky even without a bad cut to fix, but she did a GREAT job. (She also did a great job on my husband, and his wavy hair.) The only problem for me is that the cut was too pricey for my budget, and the salon is a long way for me to travel as well. (It's up on South Hill, at 154th....strangely above a Dairy Queen!) The salon is very fancy and the service was excellent and very friendly. Note: If you look at the salon's website, just be aware that each stylist sets his/her own prices, so ask the particular person before you go. read more

I highly recommend Alyssa Chambers to all of my friends for their hair needs. I used to be a bleach and tone girl. My hair was dead, dry and lifeless. After letting it grow out a bit, I decided I wanted to add life back in and Alyssa helped me do that. We went to a beautiful rose gold color, and my hair hadn't felt so healthy in such a long time. I got the products she recommended to me, and ever since i've had silky hair. After growing tired of the rose gold, we brought my hair to a nice natural brown color and still my hair feels great after doing a color lift to get the red tones out. Alyssa cares about her clients and she will not let someone leave a situation without trying to fix things (if it were to go wrong). Because of Lyss, my hair is finally starting to grow, no more dead ends and it feels great. I will continue to come to her and to recommend her. Terrible customer service! Totally destroyed my hair. Turned it into straw. Did not listen at all to what I requested. Hacked it up when the haircut portion came. And the stylist wanted me to give her another chance to fix it at my expense of course! She actually wanted to charge me extra to fix my hair to fix the mistake that she made! I took my business elsewhere. Ashley from the salon needs to go back to school or find another career maybe in used car sales since she's so good at lying! I loved the atmosphere of this place and my stylist Alyssa was really nice. The only problem that arose was that she claimed that there was "miscommunication" at our eyelash extension appointment. There really wasn't, she just didn't clean off my eyes before starting the process so the extensions ended up falling off before 24 hours of even having them on. I loved the extensions and they looked incredible I just hated they stayed on for such a short amount of time. I paid $150 for these and she expects me to repay for another set due to her losing product but if you didn't want to lose product, make sure you do everything correctly and slowly. You're a professional right? I'm just very annoyed with the fact that I lost money on something that I have spent a while saving up for. I am also upset at the fact she didn't want to accept the blame and expected me to repay. That isn't very professional and, she claimed that she was in a hurry as well... This is my last time at this salon! and I didn't want it to be but after this experience it sadly has to be. This salon has a nice atmosphere and nice people but the service was an unbearable experience :( read more

I have driven by Tuscan Salon countless times. I decided to check it out, so I called to see if they had any afternoon appointments. The number listed on the side menu of their website goes to one stylist's phone. She said she had an opening. When I arrived, her (I believe her name was Chantal) and another stylist were eating a snack in the waiting area. With food in her mouth, she starts talking to me and brings me to her chair. Her consultation was less consultation and more of her telling me what she's going to do. She never asked what I do for a living (I spend a lot of time outside) nor how long I spend on my hair (very minimally). I have wavy/curly hair that I really like. I rarely ever put product in it and I NEVER blow dry it. She continues to talk (rather loudly) as she washes my hair. I try to get a word in edge-wise to let her know that the bottom layer of my hair doesn't curl as well. She acknowledges that, saying that she can tell. She starts to cut my hair. Again, she is telling me what she is going to do instead of asking me what I want, what my hair care regiment is, etc. I had gotten my hair cut probably 3 months prior. She wanted to trim off 1/2-3/4ths of an inch. I asked her to take 2 inches off (to about my collar bone). She finishes the hair cut and starts to blow dry, saying that she needs to blow dry to cross check. I can tell that my bottom layer is much longer than my other layers--remember, this will not curl, it is going to look ridiculous. I point this out to her. She says it will be fine, but I could tell she was shortening my longer layer. It is now above my shoulders. I was skeptical of this haircut, but because she blow-dried it, I wasn't sure how it would look curly. She kept saying that she always cross checks her work. This is a standard hair styling procedure. How is that anything special? It's like saying a bus driver always stops at the stop signs. She also said it will be great for me to have my hair styled because then I can keep it like that tomorrow. I don't wear my hair straight. This morning I washed my hair and let it naturally dry. I did use some mouse to try to style it. Now it is MUCH shorter (expected, of course, with curly hair). My "side bang" is so thick--making it huge with the curl. I've had much better haircuts at Supercuts-type places. Go to one of these places, not only will you get a better quality cut, but you'll pay half as much. read more

I visited this salon today. After entering the salon, I stood about 3 to 4 feet from the front desk while two female employees were directly behind the desk. They were facing each other and carrying on (chatting) which did not appear to be work related. I had been standing there for about a minute, just waiting to be acknowledged. Finally they both turned in my direction. The Brunette female did not acknowledge me whatsoever, while the Blonde managed to ask if I needed any help. By this time, I felt their personal conversation took precedence over customer service. I felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. At that point I answered the Blonde, "No" and I left the salon. I work in the customer service industry and don't feel this salon is a customer oriented business. read more

Decided to schedule appointment through online booking but wanted to know cost. Finally messaged the salon through Facebook and 4 hours later received a message that stylists set their own prices so I would have to contact stylist directly for pricing. Was given stylist's (Courtney Chambers) phone number. Texted her to inquire about pricing and never got a response back so I cancelled my appointment. I don't dare go to a place with such terrible customer service. I got a Groupon for a haircut with Jenniffer Baker. As I was driving around I called the salon 5 times because I could not find the place and no one picked up (turn out the salon is on top a Dairy Queen who would have guessed). I finally arrived to my appointment 5 minutes late and I apologized and explained that I could not find the location. Well the stylist was rude and I felt like she was rushing. She washed my hair really quick and then started cutting it. When I asked about the conditioning treatment that came with my groupon she said she had already applied it...which I think was a lie because I only saw that she applied shampoo to my hair and then rinse it (no conditioner or anything else). As she cut my hair she didn't even try to have a conversation with me. I asked her to maintain my asymmetrical bob haircut (short in the back and long in the front). She finished cutting it and just air dried my hair and said I was ready. I asked her if she could blow dry my hair straight and she rolled her eyes at me. I tried to be nice to her and left her a good tip since she was clearly having a bad day. However, when I got home I noticed that the right side of my hair was longer than the left side and it was quite noticeable. I ended up going o my usual salon to get this fixes. I would not recommend getting a haircut with Jennifer Baker unless you want to put up with a bad attitude and end up with a bad haircut. read more

When I first called the salon, the receptionist sounded polite, and then transferred me over to Chantha. When I talked to Chantha, she sounded very unprofessional and I could barely understand her. It also sounded like she was more interested in making some money, as opposed to showing compassion and being courteous of a potential client. Overall, the phone call itself was the deal breaker. I went to this salon for a cut and color, I had chantha although she did a pretty good job, she didn't listen to what I said she kept telling how she would like my hair to look and how I wanted my own hair didn't suite me. My color was a little off and when I let her know she said I can come back another day and she let me know the price it would be. I already paid so I don't think I should have to pay again for something that wasn't done the first time. I will go to a different stylist next time. read more

LOVE this place! Ok, so to be more specific, Trisha is the best! She really knows her stuff (and hair). Totally nailed what I was asking for! She's incredibly knowledgeable and was very honest with me. Which is something you don't hear often when many stylists will tell you what you want to hear then do what they want or screw it up. The salon is clean and carries great products. Tuscan offers many services-I will definitely go back for eyelashes, with Trisha of course. I just wanted to come on here and shout out my girl Alyssa chambers!! You did such a horrible job on my sisters hair right before her engagement photos and made my sister feel so uncomfortable the whole time. At the end my sister paid you simply because she didn't know what else to do in that situation. After leaving completely mortified and getting opinions from other people and stylists they all suggested she get her money back. Alyssa agreed to a refund then blocked my sister on everything and is now refusing to give her a refund and played the victim card in all of the messages with my sister instead of being understanding that she ruined my sisters hair, giving her a refund and moving on. Can't be totally surprised she's acting so unprofessional she's basically a child. So everyone hurry a schedule your appointments with ALYSSA CHAMBERS if you want your hair completely ruined and for her final words at the end to be "I've seen worse"!
