Decent spot to eat while waiting to visit Sagrada. Great view outside. Service was nice, but food only okay for the trip. We were surprised to get seating for eight people so close to sagrada Familia during a holiday week. It is a very quaint place with maybe 20 seats, not including the outside. The menu is more Italian with a page of tapas. The price is very reasonable, despite being in a tourist area. Portions were big, and it was the first place where a salad actually consisted of greens. read more

We went here on our last night to get paella and I'm so glad we did. This was the best service we had in Barcelona (and the food was so good). The owner was working and since we had one of the few indoor tables he came to check on us often. He was also extremely knowledgeable about GF and went above and beyond to give us an authentic Spanish meal. We started with pan de tomate (on GF bread) and a charcuterie board. The portions were huge and the selection of meat and cheeses were so good. We also split a delicious paella di pesce, which had plenty of seafood and was cooked perfectly. The location is right across from Sagrada Familia, so it was a perfect stop. Definitely wasn't like the other tourist trap places nearby, which was a pleasant surprise. read more

The food was delicious!! We had caprese salad, tortellini with pesto and the mushroom risotto. All fantastic. We we offered after dinner pistachio shots. I didn't finish the risotto because I was stuffed on the salad and bread beforehand. The owner comped that meal. I told him it wasn't necessary that I truly enjoyed it, there was so much. Great food. Even better service. Not much else is needed but really it's been a while since I've felt the need to make a review based on how well everything went tonight. We walked in without any reservations despite it being somewhat busy tonight and they were very accommodating by looking over all the tables to see which have been there for a while/seem to be leaving soon. Getting a table within 10 mins, we were ushered over to the table (with warm welcomes from all staff members) with a food and drink menu consisting of plenty options. My girlfriend and I decided to share everything and grab a full course of an appetizer, two entrées, 2 rounds of free bread (which the consistently checked and asked if we needed more!) and drinks! Again great food, even better service. The paella, although not the best one that could be found in Barcelona, was worth the €15 since it was still tasty and enough to be split between two. The tortellini with the butter and sage sauce hit all the right notes while remaining light and decadent. The drinks we ordered (not pictured since I preceded to drink half the Pinot before I realized it was something I should have pictured) were spot on delicious. The drinks menu offers red and white by the glass or bottle, cocktails, beers, Barcelona's very own Cava with differing fruit juices, sodas, and coffee. If you're in the area of Sagrada Familia then please do yourself (and/or those you're with) and find this gem to treat them to since it's in a convenient area and has more than enough options to keep everyone happy! Cheers to this restaurant's excellent service on swaying me enough to make a review complimenting them. P.S. speaking of cheers-they even gave us each a shot of limoncello on the house for dining in! Okay... so I admit it: My 2 friends and I fell for this tourist trap. In our defence, we did check Yelp beforehand and was encouraged to try due to its 4-stars. Located just down the street from Sagrada Familia, off the main street of Carrer Mallorca, it is a fair-sized restaurant with multiple dining spaces (patio, bar, and dining room at the back). ATMOSPHERE: Pretty cosy, and relaxed. Enjoyable for a meal. We sat at a table in the back. SERVICE: Good. Our server (also manager?) was serving all the tables in our area. So the pace of server may be slower than one would like. However, being on vacation we were totally cool with the chill pace. Server was still attentive/responsive, whenever he came by to check on us - so we still felt cared for. PRICE: Average. As expected for its locale. FOOD: The menu boasted local fare, and traditional Italian. We went for the tapas: BREAD - okay (not fresh/hot), served with a nice olive oil though DELI PLATTER - Good portion, but had better elsewhere in the city PATATA BRAVA - Tasty; served piping hot and sauce was good BREADED PARMESAN VEGGIES - SUPER yummy; our favourite dish of the meal SEAFOOD PAELLA - Good portion; flavour was okay; bit of a letdown because the seafood wasn't as expected (we'd eaten quite a bit of seafood during our trip and have come to expect GOOD seafood. Very over priced. Food is not great. We have been eating at some really nice tapas restaurants in Barcelona and this was more pricey with less food than those. I feel this is a tourist trap with the basilica near by. Also they offer tomato on bread when you order as if it's free. It's not, they add about €4 to the bill at the end. read more

This place has a great location near the Sagrada Familia. The paella looked good but was sadly undercooked. This was odd, since I looked over at the girl next to us, and her paella had that lovely layer of brown on the bottom of hers. For ours, the rice was still a little raw in the middle, and there was a puddle of water at the bottom of our dish. No crispy bottom layer of rice. :( On the upside, the quality of the seafood was good, and the flavors were there - not too salty and perfectly golden in color. 3.5/5 Patatas bravas were not crispy and had a spicy red sauce on top. They were kind of like sad cafeteria potatoes. 3/5 Meatballs were flavorful, in a tomato sauce, and tasted so good with the polenta we ordered. 4/5 Polenta with mushrooms, mozzarella, and truffle oil was tasty and perfectly fluffy, and decadent in flavor. 5/5 Kind of a hodgepodge, as the things I liked were fantastic and the things I didn't like were surprising letdowns. This place appears to specialize in paella, so it was disappointing that it failed at the basics. It ended up being the only paella we had in Spain. Too bad. read more

Lunch was decent. Gave this place a try as it was close to La Sagrada Família. If it's a nice day out you can sit outside and have a nice view. Only few tables outside. We sat in a tight space inside that had a slight view. Order a pitcher of sangria and it was watered down with lots of ice and juice. Could hardly taste the wine which was very disappointing for the $17. The Hawaiian pizza was our favorite there. Seafood paella was just ok. Nothing that we could rave about. Perfect location, awesome staff, amazing food. Across the street from Sagrada Familia is this gem of a restaurant. My friends and I came on a Saturday night around 8pm and were seated right away. We ordered and there wasn't much of a wait for the food. The waiter recommended The lasagna when we were handed the menus so I ordered the lasagna, and it was amazing! We also tried two kinds of paella, a pasta, and chicken parmigiana and they were all delicious. Throughout the meal, the staff was observant. They were prepared to help if we needed anything. In the end, they packed our leftovers in boxes. Everything was delicious and all of us left very satisfied. I recommend this place to anyone walking to Sagrada de Familia. read more

Right from the start, the service was amazing. A gentleman quickly greeted us and offered us drinks. We order a pitcher of Sangria which was tasty. Soon after, Albina introduced us and she was an absolute delight. We order tapas and paella and it was amazing! She offered us dessert and we took advantage of their tiramisu. My new favourite joint in Barcelona! Stumbled here yesterday with my partner by accident. Even though close to Sagrada Família, this place is far from a tourist trap. The layout of the restaurant is very cozy. The staff were extremely hospitable and friendly, which is really important as many places in Barcelona are rude towards Americans. Originally from the States but living in Europe, I was surprised to see chicken parm on the menu. So much better, not to mention fresher, then the one from the states. My friends and I ordered the paella. My friend who ordered the mixed paella said that some of the meats were a overcooked. While strolling around Sagrada Familia the other night, we were starting to get hungry and we began looking for a restaurant to try. Tuscania caught our eyes earlier in the day, so we decided to give it a shot. When we walked in, the workers were friendly and immediately welcomed us. We were sat downstairs in a quiet, dimly lit, romantic setting - this place is very cozy! We started with a carafe of their house sangria and then shared the seafood paella and penne and meatballs. Everything was so delicious and we couldn't get enough of their house bread. Service is exceptionally friendly here, the ambiance is lovely, and the food is fantastic. We enjoyed our time at Tuscania so much that we actually came back the next night and dined on their outside patio. I ordered paella mixto (mixed seafood and meat, 13.90 Euros), polenta with mushrooms and truffle oil (5.90 Euros) and shrimp with lemon sauce (7.90 Euros). This place was absolutely amazing!!! We came from the States with a group of 23 (teenage soccer girls team) and parents. We called ahead for a reservation and it was no issue for such a large group. The opened up a little side part of the restaurant that seated all of us comfortably. Super cute quaint little place and the food is UNBELIEVABLE!!! Must try the lasagna, seafood pasta, mushroom pasta, and pretty much everything on the menu. You have a wonderful view of La Segrada Familia and the staff....probably some of the nicest people we met the whole time in Barcelona. If we ever come back to Spain, this is a must go to place. My family ate here 3 times while staying down the street. They offer gluten-free pasta and pizza options, which was terrific. Very friendly, warm staff. We ate outside in December, and they provided propane space heaters and lap blankets. The interior looked attractive and cozy but we never went inside. The view of the Sagrada Familia was too good. My daughter declared the Margherita pizza the best ever. Try the house-made pistachio liquor after dinner and bring a bottle home. It's to die for. read more

After reading the reviews, we expected this place to be the best meal of our week long vacation here. We were nothing but disappointed. First, they were full so they took us to the empty restaurant nextdoor. It was odd but we went with it. The place was extremely warm inside with no airflow. The service was ok, my party of 5 all ordered an entree and I also ordered a tapa. Two people got their food and I got my tapa, then about 5 mins later 2 more people got their food. My food never came. I asked about it after waiting about 15 mins. My party was completely done eating when my food arrived. I wasn't even interested in eating anymore as it was about 30 mins after everyone else had their food delivered. I was so hot that I was sweating and ready to leave. I had the chicken parmigiana after reading the great reviews. It wasn't worth the wait. It had no flavor and was not appetizing. I took it Togo because I felt like they wouldn't let me get away with canceling it. We were also charged a random service fee of .80 per adult, when I asked about it, they stated it was for use of the silverware and such. I think we were scammed for being American. We paid nearly €100 for the meal (3 adults and 2 kids) and left with 1 person who enjoyed their food (seafood paella). My children didn't even like the spaghetti or lasagna they ordered. Quite disappointed specially that it has a high rating here in Yelp. We tried the seafood paella but it was served with rice partially cooked, so it was a bit hard to chew. Nothing spectacular with it. The service was initially good but when we told them that the rice was not cooked properly, the owner did not seem to like it. He then kept on ignoring us while he kept on asking the other table beside us if everything was fine. When I asked for the check, he gave it to me and just said that we should go ahead and pay directly at the counter as he was not coming back for it. We also ordered the baked mussel and Milanese chicken breast. They were good but the serving was small for the baked mussel and nothing special about them for me to order them again. The chicken breast was huge though. We also asked for two extra fork because my kid dropped them and we were charged for it. Ridiculous. read more

Stopped in for tiramisu & coffee. This place has tiramisu on their Yelp page, good reviews, and is called Tuscania. Hell yes. I couldn't wait. Let me preface this by saying that tiramisu is my favorite thing on God's green earth. It's everything I could ever want in life. To me, tiramisu is a sacred, many splendored thing. Thus, when I was served tiramisu in a glass mug of sorts, I was dismayed. Let me tell you, there aren't many things sadder than average tiramisu. This tiramisu, which I read on Yelp is homemade, was small and unlike the Italian cakey goodness I know and love. It lacked flavor, lacked integrity, lacked quality. To make matters worse, for a small mug of tiramisu and some bland coffee, it was 7.50€. I find the price, given the quality and size, to be outrageous. I've read good things about this place, and I intend to come back and try their paella. The view of the sagrada familia certainly is lovely. However, if you're coming for dessert, I'd say there are better places for cheaper. Barcelona is chock full of delectable sweets.
