Located in the center of old town square it's one of the busiest cafes. We went there because we were starving after a day of traveling and I'm glad we did. Started off with bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, red pepper spread, and cured meat. My friend got the spaghetti carbonara and I got the seafood spaghetti. My wife and I had lunch at Tuscania. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza and the seafood paella. The pizza arrived first. The pineapples were large, sauce was thin (but that's ok), cheese delicious, and prosciutto great. Next, the seafood paella came out which included mussels, clams, squid, shrimp, and strips of steak. I thought the dish was good but could have been a little better. The sangria pitcher was a nice touch to add to the meal unfortunately nothing tasted special about it. We were traveling on a family vacation (a Disney cruise), which started and stopped in Barcelona. We had heard of this restaurant from a friend and decided to stop in because we wanted to try tapas and Paella. This restaurant is located literally right by the Sagrada Familia and had a spectacular view of the church outside of the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, we were quickly ushered in (and our group of 7 was took their larger table in the back). I mentioned that our cruise started and stopped in Barcelona. Our family loved this restaurant so much that we had to start our trip here, and then end our trip here when we got off the cruise. The food was so good. My father thoroughly enjoyed the paella. We got the seafood only version both times. Additionally, my sisters loved the Patatas Bravas. We ate at several other restaurants and they decided that this was their favorite. We ordered a couple of the other tapas dishes (the jamon, baked mussels, lemon shrimp, etc.) which were all really good as well. Now, we found out that one of the owners grew up in Italy. So there are some Italian dishes here that were also fantastic. We went to Italy on our cruise and got some great pizza there. I think that the pizza here was quite comparable. Here is something you should know. Spaniards are not appreciative of tourists. My mom found this place on Trip Advisor and we thought it looked good. We walk in and it is practically empty as 2 Spanish individual's are seated. A man comes up to us and he was possibly the manager, he says that he has to see if there is any available seating. (My mom and I are Americans from the Northeast of the USA and we are visiting Barcelona for vacation over spring break.) The man takes 15-20 minutes to "find us a table." He seats us and for the next 30 minutes every worker completely ignores us. Instead, they go to help a Spanish family. It's not everyday you get to visit Sagrada Familia. It's also not everyday that you get to eat good paella. Mix these two things together and you get a wonderful experience. Good food with a view! Location This is as good as it gets. It's right across the street from Sagrada Familia so I had a great view of the church while I ate my lunch. After walking all day, I just wanted to sit and with the church being my last stop for the day, this place was perfect. Restaurant The restaurant itself is very quaint. It isn't large, but rather cozy. I opted to sit outside and had to wait a little bit to get one of three tables. There were a lot of tourists eating here so you will most likely have to wait a bit. However, once your seated and relaxed, the outdoor seating is well worth the wait. Note that you are right on the edge of the sidewalk so you're super close to the cars that pass by. A bit scary at times, but I like to live on the wild side ;) Lol. Service Good things come to those who wait. It was a bit slow at times, mainly because there were so many tourists. Our waitress whom was wonderfully patient was great. Food Two words bruh', Seafood Paella! it had tons of seafood (shrimp, octopus, clams, etc). I definitely felt like I was eating the Atlantic ocean. It all tasted fresh! The paellas I've had in the past felt like 90% rice and 10% meats/veggies. This was still 90% rice, but 60% meats/veggies. I washed it all down with a super refreshing sangria. Can't go wrong here. Final Thoughts I really enjoyed this place for what it was. We were really shocked to see an Italian restaurant rated so highly for their paella near Sagrada Familia, but we decided to go ahead and try it out. They didn't have a vegetarian paella on their menu but were able to accommodate and make one. We also split a liter of sangria and patatas bravas. Everything was exceptionally delicious. The sangria was just the right amount of sweet and had tons of really good sweet fruit in it from grapes to strawberries to oranges to blueberries. They also put a little more sugar in each glass to make the sangria even sweeter. The patatas bravas were also extremely good, not that they are really bad anywhere in Barcelona. The individual pieces are a bit too big and are very hot when they come out, but are still extremely crispy. The brava sauce is next level. Very creamy, but not too creamy. They also give you a lot of sauce that is sufficient for all of the potatoes. The best part of the meal, however, was the paella. Unlike other paella in Barcelona which is done with darker sauce, this dish was much lighter and had a lot more vegetables in it and it was the best paella I had in Barcelona. Extremely tangy and flavorful, but also very filling. The vegetables were really well roasted and they all, especially the mushroom, added great flavor to the dish. Make sure to ask for more mushroom on the paella. It was so good that I actually came back the last day to have some more paella, but unfortunately, they ended up burning the dish and had no more rice to cook another one. It is still crazy to me that an Italian restaurant can make this good of Spanish food, but it is definitely real. Worth a visit when you are in Barcelona! read more

We were early (in local's standard), we came at 6:30pm and we were the only customer. Thank God they carried the English menu, we ordered the sauteed mushroom (which turned out was my favorite dish), a plate of yummy mussels (very fresh and juicy), and seafood spaghetti recommended by the server.
