TBC is kicking it up a notch (in the parlance of our times). A new brewer (Porter . . . quite auspiciously named) has some very tasty choices out right now and was working on a big barley wine while I was in there yesterday. His cask conditioned red, hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo, is an aroma bomb with very mild bitterness--a nice, smooth, malty red beneath that sweet citrus and grapefruit aroma. The Maibock is an easy drinking beer that would taste great outside on a warm, sunny afternoon. Jackson's Double IPA is big, relatively malty and dark in color, and very hoppy. A pleasurable IPA*2 if you're into that sort of thing. In which case you'd also be happy to find Pliny the Elder and Avery's Maharaja on tap. The guest beer rotation is great, which is nice to see, and the brewer's beers are looking very good. read more

So I was a little baffled by the low rated reviews last time i came because the food and service was top notch. Tonight the service was soooooo slow that it made sense. It's a neighborhood spot with lots of beer and lots of noise which makes it appealing to families with little ones whose loud antics is easily tuned out. The stand outs in terms of food is by the fish tacos and salsa that was to die for. The spouse tried the chili and it definitely lived up to the hype. The munchkin liked his pizza and looked damn good for being from a brewery. We got the apps combo and those were all just meh. Lots of beers (not my thing but the hubs was smiling ear to ear) and good reasonably priced wine in addition to a full bar. No doubt I'll go back but I'll keep in mind the service is a crapshoot. read more

This is my boyfriend & I's go-to almost every weekend. We came across it a while back, having no idea that the White House looking building was a brewery- our favorite! They have such a great selection of drinks- everything from heavy IPA's to drinks for the non-beer drinkers, such as, hard kombuchas & hard seltzer's. It would be impossible not to find a drink you love here, whether it be bottled or on tap. And even better- the food never fails. Always super filling & made when ordered. Less than satisfying and also they have their menus posted up on the wall for the beer so people get out of their seats to look and then end up hovering over your table. Good place if you like a loud setting or have kids. TV's to watch sports and staff was friendly. Red Hill Red! I typically only come in here on either Sunday morning for football or baseball, and Monday nights for MNF. Their football specials are good. The chili cheese omelete is a gutbuster, but tasty! If you're there are night, go for the wings! Ask for the extra hot sauce. My big complaint always about wings is that people throw a ton of Frank's Red Hot Sauce on there, and act like they are "homemade wings." Hats off to Tustin Brewery for having their own sauce. They aren't a wing place, but they have good wings. They also have good pizzas. read more

I've been coming here almost since opening. It's a friendly place like Cheers where everyone knows your name. All the employees are super friendly. T.B C. brews their own beer, and also has guest beers from other brewers. The cask beers in my mind are some of the best. Prices for a beer are a bargin. I'm a member of the Mug Club so my beers are cheaper and it's larger than the pint glass. It's hard to decide what to eat. My favorites are the nachos, Hickory Burger, pizza, wings. I ask for my pizza with habanero to kick it up a notch. If I'm lucky the cooks have Ghost Peppers, and I get those too. This is the place to watch any sporting event on one of their many tv's. If you are a Michigan Wolverines fan come here for the football games. The alumni fill the place, and I mean fill. If you want to sit get here early. They have trivia, Michigan merchandise, raffles, and after the team scores EVERYONE sings The Michigan Fight Song. Go Blue. I like local businesses in Tustin. Their common house brews are more on the hoppy side, like their Red Hill Red is a hoppier red than other Irish Reds. I didn't find their common brews interesting. Word on the street is to order their special brews instead. Right now as of June 2013 they were experimenting with coffee infused brews.... I've only been here for lunch and they seem to have great lunch specials but their food isn't as great so far. My friend's caesar salad was too basic for $6, and my chicken salad sandwich was pretty lame. So.....I'll come back, but just for trying their special brews and maybe an appetizer too. read more

I have a client near by so I decided to take my employees for dinner after the meeting to the Tustin Brewery instead of Rock and Brew to give a local business a chance. What a mistake that was. The service and food was horrible. I can not imagine this place is in business. The pizza and drinks took forever and then the pizza came burnt. My employees never complain be they said the burgers were way over cooked. Really bad experience. From the look of the place I just don't see this place making it We will be returning to Rock and Brews next time in Tustin. You guys need to clean up your act. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's just not my thing. There are so many missteps. It's a big, cavernous room which means it's REALLY loud. In addition to the sports fans filling the place, there were also a ton of kids, many of them screaming their heads off. I didn't really expect that at a brewing company. They seated us at a wobbly table that did not fit where it was - it was sticking out into the walkway and we had to pull our chairs in so tightly that the table was jammed into our ribs. We thought we might have a couple of beers, but we couldn't see the list of available beers at the bar, and the little table menu only shows a handful. The waitstaff seemed way overburdened and it took forever for the waitress to take our order. The food came out quickly, though, but it was soon evident why. It was all bland and not fresh. It seemed like it was probably frozen. Very disappointing. This might be a fun place to throw back a few pitchers and pizzas with a group of friends while watching a game, but not if you want quality food or to be able to hear the conversation at your table. read more

Good food, GREAT beer and so-so service. I know it might seem odd to give a full 5 stars for a place I state has 'so-so service' but given how wonderful the beer is, I just have to. The Good: The beer is awesome here. I've visited many, many micro/nano breweries in my day and this is definitely one of the tops. Honestly, I was pretty surprised. Being in a shopping center in Orange County, I figured it would be much departed from the handcrafted style you find at more 'hole in the wall' places, especially since they have a full menu. Places that serve a full menu are dividing their focus between beer and food after-all. Clearly that is not an issue here. I can say that their IPA is one of the freshest flavored I've had anywhere. It's also a little higher proof than the typical IPA. Their stout is also very good, tastes like an oatmeal stout and is also very fresh. I highly recommend the beer. Food was also quite good. I had their Korean inspired short rib tacos and I can honestly say they are some of the best asian tacos I've had anywhere. If you're a fan of asian taco food trucks (I'm partial to those) then these are right up your alley. I also tried the turkey club and onion rings. The club was just ok, but the rings were quite good. They were nice and thick and well done. I hate skinny onion rings. Service has been hit or miss here. I've come in a couple times to fill up a growler and it's almost like they are avoiding eye contact. Something that should take 5 minutes ends up taking 10-15. Not a big deal and I can cope with it. When I've come in to eat or perch at the bar, they've been right on it on the other hand. Bottom line: really fresh good beer and food, don't fret about the service, I think it may have been a few one-offs. read more

Went for the first time tonight. We wanted to try a new place for dinner. It was Friday at 10:00pm when we arrived.the waitress told us the kitchen wants to go home so they only serve appetizers and pizza. So we ordered nachos and the sampler plate. Food was horrible. The chipotle chicken sandwich was so bland. There was no seasoning on the chicken breast at all. I couldn't eat it. If they flavored the chicken with dry chipotle seasoning not just the mayo I think it would be much better. We enjoy it there as well as the kids. I give the Tustin Brewing company one start simply because the food was good but the service was atrocious. I came in with a party of 4 people and had to hunt down a waiter to get any service at all. We even went to the bar to see if they would fill our drink order there and we were ignored. When finishing up our meal I asked for a before the check even came. I asked for a box 3 times and in those three times they brought the check and took the check but never the box. I finally went up to the back counter and asked for one with the plate in hand. I asked if they had a spare fork to put the food into the box and they offered me a napkin because the forks were being "washed". I've never heard of a restaurant washing all their forks at once around six o'clock much less tell someone to use a napkin of all things to transfer their food. read more
