We happily stumble upon the last Spoons in the area in Santa Ana today. I thought they were all gone! I always loved their burgers and was sad when the Cerritos store closed. We were happily greeted by Reyna and were seated in a comfortable booth. Lots of choices on the regular menu and great prices for their lunch specials too! I had a burger last night so I went with the delicious taquitos on the lunch menu. You get 3 taquitos with chicken or steak and rice and beans for $11.99! It was delicious!!! This was a cool find an 8 min walk from our hotel. Spacious restaurant with a bar and even a party area with ample room for an elaborate DJ and lights set up with a roomy formal dance floor! It was a busy Friday night with the World Cup on the screens throughout but the staff was efficient and welcoming. They did not miss a beat! Staying at the hotel nearby I decided to try this greasy spoon. Get it spoons. Had the ribeye steak perfectly cooked medium rare delicious veggies are cooked perfectly and the fries are great. My friend wanted to visit this restaurant for the nostalgia and it's a part of his story. I thought that was a great reason why we should try this place. The menu has salads, appetizers, Mexican and pasta. We went light and just had the abondigas soup and the chicken tortilla soup. Both were very satisfying as we were out and about all day long. The space is very unusual and hard to explain. There is a large bar area. The parking lot is massive. Great service, they checked on us often and refilled our drinks in a timely manner. This was the first time ever being there on Mar 8th, 2026. The service was so bad, took them forever, jJust to get a drink order, and when we ordered the calamari as an appetizer, it didn't even taste like calamari, it tasted very fake. And then I asked four different employees for them to turn down the air conditioning unit because it was freezing in there, and they kept saying, okay, ok. Okay? And they would never turn it down. The waiter never came back to check on us, to see if we wanted another drink. And then to top that off, they charge a surcharge for me, using my credit card. Was never informed. I wasn't expecting much of a punch of flavor but I was absolutely wrong. The fusion of Mexican style pasta is one of my favorites. If you enjoy jalapenos on your food and enjoy onions and on the spicy side of things give the tequila chicken pasta!! Packed with flavor and made to order. I will come back and order the same meal. Staying at the hotels next door, decided to walk over and give this restaurant a try ! Nice decor inside of the restaurant, lots of booths. Ordered albondigas soup on the side of my meal, they first accidentally brought me a chicken tortilla soup, which unknowingly at first I tried and it was delicious! Sent that back then They brought the albondigas which was pretty good as well ! The burrito ranchero sauce that came on top was super salty honestly, not sure how that got sent out without them tasting it first, however the chicken tequila pasta was pretty good. read more

I seriously do not know how they have a low star rating ... this place was a serious vibe at night! At first I was skeptical cause no one was in there at all but we were greeted right away and seated. We started off with the tequila sunrise, This mannn from the jump was trying to get us drunk drunk. lol I couldn't taste anything but tequila ! Now some may not complain but those who wanted the blend you be disappointed. lol. Then we decided on the fajitas. Oooufffff! Wait let me rewind.... THE GUAC AND SALSA...... homemade and fresh!!! This place never disappoints, always great selection of dishes and drinks. A go to place after work to wind down and wait for traffic to ease up. The bar is a my favorite spot but have sat at the tables and booths. I'm definitely 110% happy with their drinks . Knowledgeable bar tenders and a great selection to choose from. I go to Spoons every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. They have the best taco Tuesday specials. The food is very good and the vibe is like a sports bar. TV's everywhere with all kinds of sports playing all day. Great Mexican food at a good price. read more

This place is the only place walking distance from the hotel. It is like a Chilis lite. Not sure they have decided on the decor, seems to be very eclectic. Walking distance from the hotel we were staying at so we tried it in spite of three star reviews. Not a lot of healthy options so we had salads. I had the BBQ chicken salad which was fine. My guest had the Fiesta Tostada salad and got sick in his hotel room. Not good. They have a room in the back with a stage, lights, and floor monitors but not sure if live music is scheduled due to COVID... The beer selection was very safe with no local brews. Moreover, the chicken tenders look like they've been manufactured in a rubber factory. Also, the ranch made me gag and everyone at the table. I received great, friendly service at the bar. I was very disappointed with the fish tacos. It seemed to be a frozen disc of fish (think fish sticks) that was fried, cut into strips (again think of frozen fish sticks), and added to the taco. Lacking in flavor with bland slaw on top and pico de Gallo that was also lacking in flavor and heat. Not a bad place to try. We went recently stopped by while in the area. The place is more of Mexican restaurant that happens to have a few American dishes rather than the other way around like they advertise. During a weekend, they only had 2 servers taking care of the whole place but they did the job adequately enough. I tried their Albondigas, and it was very good and fresh, definitely just made from scratch. I wouldn't really come here though for the bar atmosphere, while we wanted to watch some games, they had the music cranked up a little much to concentrate at all. read more

Great atmosphere and little to no vegetarian options which is the only reason I couldn't give it a full 4 stars. I wish they disembodied their menu options to be more inclusive.
