Tustin Inn is a cash only bar with a small ish selection of drinks. But that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves! We came here on a Saturday night and the bar was filled with people! Our bartender was quick to tend to us. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks and even picked a song on the jukebox to jam out to. That was a lot of fun! After we were done with drinks, we decided to play a game of shuffleboard that was available past the bar area. I musg have had beginners luck because I ended up winning at the end! Bartender high on something. Came at 1am, waited to order my beer til 1:13am since she was doing something in the back. She came and told me she cant serve after 2am. I told her that its only 1:13, even showed my phone screen, but she kept on saying "i cant serve after 2am." They've got pool tables, vintage wood-paneling, and a cash-only sign out front that somehow felt comforting, not intimidating. It's the kind of place where the regulars hang, the bartender knows your name (or will after the second round), and most importantly, the drinks are dirt-cheap and honest. I always have an enjoyable experience at this bar, with last night (10/24/22) being the exception. A bartender I'd never seen before took over when Nancy clocked out at 6 PM, a young-ish blonde, and she was pretty awful. Rather than provide customer service and make the bar money, she almost immediately pulled her phone out. Blocked the TV when I tried to watch the Monday Night Football game. Rather than pay attention to empty glasses and attempt to sell more drinks, she soaked up the attention from some drunken loser flirting with her. Came in for my first time last night, I'm young and only been to a bar a couple of times, came in and was greeting with a polite welcome and was asked for ID like everybody else which I find quite professional. Great price for drinks, and had a Long Island iced tea which was great flavor and refreshing , I didn't catch the bartenders name but she was super polite and patient with people and I just had to leave a tip. He is constantly seeking out the prefect watering hole to meet his specific requirements Upon performing a complete evaluation the Tustin Inn, William B concludes that this bar meets the entry requirements to be on the list of frequented OC drinkeries. It has an above average selection of domestic beer (but it is by no stretch a craft brew tavern). It has a full acompriment of liquor, and they will make your favorite cocktails (but it is not a place to order complicated alcohol concoctions). Friendly servers, and a full litany of regulars (some of which look and smell like they make their residence at the local land fill). It has a digital jukebox, which primarily plays country music. If you want some funk in your music, you'd be best to try Godfathers next store (although that bar is known for a colored history). To pass the time, it has several televisions which have all of the major sports packages. Further, there are two billiards tables, as well as a full shuffleboard table. I also heard some guy has a dental practice he runs out of this place. I guess for the right price he's available for tooth extractions if you've got the plyers. This personally is my favorite neighborhood bar to go to when I'm not working. There's taxidermy on the wall, a new jukebox, shuffleboard, pool tables and a cigarette machine. Let me tell you, This place is a dive bar's dive bar, but living in the Covid Era, it was clean beyond belief. No sticky bar tops or floors here. Everything was cleaned regularly throughout our time there, but still managed to keep the "local" dive bar charm. The whiskey and beer selection was top notch, and the bartender was friendly from the moment we walked in. The jukebox was cranking 90s country (only the best) and the drinks were ice cold. There are eight professional dive bars in Tustin. If you visit all eight in one night and survive then I heard somewhere that you get a T-Shirt and a lifetime immunity to Hep-C. Three of these bars are West of the 5. It's even odds you can visit these without receiving a stab wound. The other 5 reside in the Triangle of FEN (First, El Camino, Newport) where you can usually walk around at night without fear of attack from CHUDs. Out of the FEN 5, the Tustin Inn stands head and shoulders above the rest as the best. The clientele is friendly and of a distinct non-violent nature. The bartender's are good-natured and always happy to supply a free birthday shot. Prices are downright cheap and the beer is a cut above. (C'mon - pitchers of Wolf Among Weeds for $11????) The Jukebox is well stocked. I'm sure there's some Pet Shop Boys or smooth jazz in there somewhere for profiling purposes but the goodfolk of The Inn spend their time listening to the glorious melodious stylings of Boston, G'nR, and the almighty Mother Love Bone. And, of course, the coup de grace - SHUFFLEBOARD. I do have one complaint though which I hope will be addressed. Pickled Eggs are a sweet nectar of the gods. But they need to be spicier. Ahh, T.I. is what the locals call this dive bar. Been coming here for 6 years and nothing has changed. I only go there when Frank is working because he's a chill bartender that's very charismatic and funny. He makes awesome drinks and we also buy him rounds with us (shh, don't tell anyone he's drinking on the job). When you're there, you typically see the usual suspects sitting at the bar. At times, some young adults from the bar next door may swing by, but for the most part, you'll find people aged from mid 30s - late 50s. There's 2 pool tables, 1 shuffleboard, 1 dart board, 2 pinball machines, I think 2 of those bar video games, and a jukebox (not the internet one), all of which you pay with coins and/or dollars. If you're looking to chill with your buddies and not aren't looking to score then it's not a bad place to grab some drinks and shoot pool. The wait isn't long to get a drink too. OMG was this ever the best find! Well, I guess, it's weird to call it a find. I didn't discover it...it's a dive bar, I have to imagine it's just always been there. I mean ALWAYS....you could still smell the cigarette smoke from the asbestos tiled ceiling & you really didn't want it to be any lighter in the room. It's authentic & I almost feel bad about reviewing it on Yelp. I feel like I'm doing its regulars a disservice by bringing attention to it. For those of you who watch the American version of Shameless, you know when The Alibi Room gets rated the best sh*ttiest bar in Chicago & all the hipsters start coming -- I would never want this happening here. So, the highlights are obviously the shuffle board and the wacky and amazing bartender (it was a windy night & the bartender would step out for a smoke & come in with her hair totally windblown with a half smoked cigarette behind her ear, totally wisecracking and pouring the best drinks. The drinks! $4 well, $5 call -- in a pint glass. What year is this? Love love love it. The clientele seemed to be a mix of ages, mostly regulars, who were playing pool or just signing along to the jukebox. There were a couple ladies in their 60's rapping along to Nelly. The jukebox had a lot of rap, but also a bunch of classic rock, some Elton John, and early-mid-90's alternative. It was a perfect mix. And it wasn't too loud, you can talk. I had heard about this place for a while but having driven by a few times I never really felt too compelled to go in. I mean, from the outside it looks, well, seedy - ok, ok, I won't lie, it looks down right shady. Located behind a shopping plaza with yet another seedy looking bar just two stores away, I felt like I would have to be in a particular mindset to go in. Not to mention that Pineapple Hill and even the Swinging Door aren't very far from here, I am ordinarily happy to go to one of those fantastic and familiar establishments. Well, Saturday night my friend Monica D. and I were looking for something different and having come from Santa Ana, we decided that that night would be the night we would finally give this place a try. We all know that saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover," yet we all are guilty of it at some point. I know I definitely was about this fine establishment. Any preconceptions I may have had about this awesome bar from the way it looks on the outside were completely proven wrong. Yes, this place looks a little worn but not in a bad way. It's not run down, dingy, or dirty; it's that kind of worn in look that only adds character to this bar. In fact, the bar is actually very clean and well kept. As for the crowd, it's an eclectic mix of types, ages, and backgrounds. There are definitely your long time regulars. And when I mean long time, I'm guessing they've been coming to this bar for years and years. There also seem to be the semi-regulars and then there are people like me, who come by out of curiosity.
