Had the Italian sub. It was a long sandwich (crispy French baguette) with fresh cold cuts, finely cut onions and tomatoes. Very good local sandwich and produce/wine shop with Italian specialties. Great ambiance. Service was quick and with a smile. Just under 15 dollars for the Italian sub. It's was really good, made with fresh produce and freshly cut cold cuts. Great Italian sandwiches with high quality ingredients and a good selection of imports as well -- European Nutella (more hazelnuts!), biscuits, high quality ricotta, several different pecorinos, etc. Pasta e Fagioli was available once and good. My friend is a fan of the arancinis. If you get there early enough for a slice of Sicilian (think they only make one a day!) it is delicious and the best in Wellesley. The cookies sold in the front were not terribly good, and some of the packaged unperishables seem like they've been there a long time -- I accidentally purchased expired apricot juice in the little glass bottles once, and the packaged cookies tasted very stale. It's a simple sandwich when you look at what goes into it, but the quality of each of the parts is so high that when it comes together it's just a very impressive sandwich. The pizza is also pretty good. Mine was not reheated, nor did they offer, so I don't know if they would do that. It tasted fine anyways. That's all I've tried so far. Just be aware, that the style of bread here is a bit more tough/chewy, and I think intentionally. It's not like a soft sub roll or bread that was once a loaf in a loaf pan. I had to cater a last minute lunch meeting and didn't want to do the typical 'Panera' thing. I had always meant to try Tutto Italiano having deep love for Italian food after spending some time in Italy. While this is not exactly authentic from Italy style Italian food ... it felt to me more like authentic Italian American food. (think Little Italy) Which to most people, I think would be a good thing. The comparison to Italy would be that everything here is fresh and tasty. There is nothing bland or frozen here. Hands down ... I think the meatball sub is the best thing they make here. I bought a mix of cheese subs (for the veggie people), prosciutto subs (which I thought would be the most popular) ... and meatball. Everyone wanted the meatball once the first person tasted it! Meatballs are simple to make, but as everyone knows ... the really good ones are hard to find. Odd to hear people rave about something so simple, but I knew I made the right choice for lunch the minute I heard grown men in suits making 'Mmmmmmmm!!!' sounds. The prosciutto subs seem to be very popular ... personally I wasn't a huge fan. Maybe because I am so used to my snobby aged Parma proscuitto from Whole foods. But it just didn't seem aged enough for my taste. But don't go based on my recommendation ... it seems there are plenty of people on here who swear by it. I feel like it would be good blended with other Italian cold cuts, which is the next sub on my 'to try' list. Everything here was fresh and I found myself going over the menu again and again wanting to try different subs. I eventually did get to try the eggplant parm sub and it was amazing. Things to know: 1.) The red sauce is more American style than Italian style, which most people would probably prefer. (Less acidic and smoother.) 2.) Everything is pretty good but the meatballs really stand out. I think they have won a few awards, actually. 3.) There are a few seats/tables inside and it is immaculately clean ... but in good weather, you can walk a short ways to a bench in the nearby park and enjoy the outdoors. 4.) They have a lot of Italian groceries as well that are hard to find at a normal grocery store. However the mark up is pretty huge here. ($7+ for a 6 pack of San Pelligrino soda which can be bought for $5 at Wholefoods or Ralphs.) Still, this is a small place so they don't buy in as much bulk so the higher prices are understandable on imports. They have an Italian soda in a 1 litre bottle which the last time I saw it for sale was in a little store a block from the Collasseum in Rome. (if only they would carry real Sicilian pistachio nuts, I'd be so grateful.) 5.) Cookies and biscotti are pretty great and should not be missed. 6.) The staff is incredibly helpful. Friendly owner. The girls who fill the orders are friendly and fantastic. They even labeled my order, cut the sandwiches in half and gave me two plastic covered trays to transport them. 7.) Sandwiches are BIG. Half a sandwich would be a fine lunch for just about anyone ... a whole sandwich would satisfy most big appetites or leave leftovers. 8.) They have artesian olive oil and ballsamic where you buy a container and then refill it for cheaper. The ballsamic is very good and for the quality, the price is a bargain for good ballsamic. I recommend using them to cater or for lunch. If you know someone who loves Italian food or subs, bring them here. You'll be a hero. read more

Super place to get delicious counter-served deli offerings (prepared foods like tortellini salad, a wide assortment of meats) as well as specialty items from Italy (Italian and pan-European shelf-stable consumables, pastas, oils, espresso makers/supplies, etc) and a cooking-related home good or twenty. One of my favorite things about Tutto Italiano is that for Easter, they not only sell the flamboyant, mylar-wrapped chocolate Easter eggs (the foot-tall hollow eggs with toys inside) in the smaller sizes, but they have had this GIANT GIANT one (like four feet of chocolate!) which they sell chances on and donate the proceeds to charity. You have to stop by Tutto Italiano in the spring, just to see this ginormous thing. PS, get a Caprese salad or sandwich while you're there. You're welcome. read more

Tutto makes, hands down, the best italian subs. For three years I have lived near Tutto. It is part of my Saturday ritual to get an italian sub for lunch, and this sandwich is the is the first thing on my mind when I wake up - it is that good. An italian from Tutto is a therapeutic experience. The bread is baked fresh daily. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The crunchy "point" on the end is my girlfriend's favorite part. The veggies, sliced fresh for each sandwich, are probably my favorite part - I usually ask for extra. The lettuce is even worth writing about. This is not the rubbery green confetti we all know from our local sub shop. Tutto's lettuce is crisp, crunchy, and sliced as your sub is made. They also slice your tomatoes and onions, and always just the right amount. They have sliced banana peppers too if you ask for everything. The meats and cheeses are imported from Italy, and the flavors are much better than any deli meat you can buy in a grocery store. Before they wrap up your sandwich, they add a blend of spices from a shaker and a squirt of something (maybe a vinaigrette?) that really compliments the flavor of the onions. One caveat though - the meats are salty so it will make you pretty thirsty. I usually drink about a liter of water after I eat one. If you have never had one of Tutto's italian subs, you owe it to yourself to try it at least once. Tutto has really perfected the art of sandwich making. read more

Reasons why I love this place: 1. The best sandwiches ever, made while you wait. Italian sub, Caprese, Parma...all delicious! But the bread really makes the sandwich - perfect and crusty and delicious. Perfect! But get there late in the day and they might run out. Plus, they slice the lettuce in thin strips, which is my favorite on subs! The ingredients they use are always tasty and very fresh. 2. The deli is great. Beautiful selection of all kinds of delicious stuff - olives, hams, cheeses, salamis, etc. 3. The shop's atmosphere is bizarre and awesome. Elvis is always playing in the background and there's a TV in the back, hooked up to a VCR that plays (non-stop) videos of super old-school pro wrestling bouts featuring a guy who must be related to the family who owns the place (my guess). It's awesome. 4. Paula's homemade cookies are awesome! Pick up a couple of them! 5. Tons of great, authentic Italian products on the shelves. Sandwiches are delicious, bread is very authentic and everything is super fresh. They also have a great selection of cold cuts (I usually get salami for home whenever I get a sandwich here). The grocery also has a fun variety of items, they have real nutella in glass jars, imported olive oils, pastas, delicious wine, tons of imported goods. A 12 year old aged balsamic that could be drunk straight (no seriously it's that delicious), a true bargain at $10.99, and you can refill your bottle at $8.99 It's easily the best balsamic for the buck you will ever find. Anyone who thinks that "Subway" is the only place to get a sub, has no idea what they are missing. Tutto Italiano is an "old style" Italian deli. One where they make subs to order. Meaning that they slice the meats and cheeses for each individual sandwich. The difference? Fresh tasting sandwiches that are worth the wait. This is the type of place where you go for the food, not for the speed. Frankly all of the cold cuts are great, but the prosciutto is outstanding. Great selection of cheeses, and their meatball subs are excellent too. I've never had anything else other than an Italian Sub, or a Meatball sub, but I'm sure everything here is good, as they clearly care about the quality of their product. I'm a regular visitor to Tutto's. I work in the area and it's the best place to grab a sandwich for lunch - I think all of my coworkers would agree with me on that one. It can be a bit slow during the lunch hour due to long lines and few people working behind the counter, but it's worth the wait and the excellent customer service. Few places these days take the time to make sure your sandwich and every customer's are put together properly. I've had the Parma (my favorite!), the tuna salad and the eggplant parm subs. The eggplant parm is amazing. It melts in your mouth and is absolutely delicious (but very filling!). I like the tuna salad here because they don't add any celery or onions. I've also bought canolis and olives here. Both were delicious. The canolis especially are delicious and filled to order. I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

All components are sliced to order (from prosciutto to fresh mozz to veggies) and served on homemade bread. But you'd be doing yourself a disservice to come here and not order a meatball sub.
