The Digital menu board does not match witht the kiosk ordering system. I wanted the pulled pork sliders but when I got to the kiosk... nope...so I settled for a BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger with fries. First of all the fries were amazing. Double fried so the were crunchy without being dry. The cheese burger tasted like beef... Great patty. The sauce is on the light side so not messy. Bacon was thin and a bit underwhelming...not even a supporting role. Bun is light and thick. Meal was $16.92 after tax. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There is direct access to the restroom.

So Tuxedo Grill at the Kansas City Zoo is definitely improving, and when I most recently visited a few weeks ago I was pleasantly impressed with how fast the line moved, how you can now order on a kiosk, and how fast the food came out. I think there's a good chance I'll improve my rating at some point, but I just couldn't for this visit as I tried their fish and chips and folks, it was not good. The fish was skin-on which was odd for fish and chips, was breaded (not beer battered), and had a VERY ocean-y taste. I've never been turned off by fish and chips before but this one was not good. Walking over into the penguin exhibit following lunch was also ill advised. Everyone else enjoyed their meal though, so next time I'll try something else and I'm sure I'll be able to report a better experience. But hey, Zoo staff - you might take that one menu item off or rethink it!

Tuxedo grill is super kid friendly and a great stop for lunch. The food is average for a zoo. The people working there were exceptional! So kind and helpful. I wish they would offer lids and straws for soda fountain drinks as open cups are a bit of a disaster for young kids.

Whoa! What an upgrade from the rest of the places to get food at the KC Zoo! Yeah, it's not fine dining, but hey, it's about as good as you can get at a zoo! Ordering is fast and easy: Figure out what you want, grab a tray and let the nice people behind the counter serve up your food. We checked it out around lunchtime on our last zoo visit and it was hoppin' but very efficiently. Tables were cleaned quickly to allow for fast turnover between patrons. The hubby and I both had a pork wrap which was fairly good if slightly dry. My in-laws were with us and their meals came with fries that they raved about. I guarantee you that the Tuxedo Grill will be our go-to food place in the zoo moving forward.

Happy girl with an ample kids meal.

This is pretty standard snack bar food, but the prices are very reasonable and service was great today. The kids meal is great. I fed a "starved" eight year old with a tapeworm and she pushed her plate away saying, "Please take this mac and cheese away from me." The store was clean was nicely decorated. The staff was very friendly.

Great, Friendly Service. So clean and comfortable. Love it!

We were meeting to take care of some college business over lunch, and Chastity was our server (as well as the daytime bartender, which was handy!). She was friendly and so helpful with the menu (it was my colleague's first visit), and gave us recommendations for food as well as drink pairings. She stopped by as we were enjoying our meals, to ensure that everything was going well, and when we asked if we could continue to occupy the table (to finish our meeting, which ended up lasting 90 minutes), she was more than happy to accommodate us. I had the Impossible Burger (my first time trying one) and it was DELICIOUS! I have friends who are vegetarians and often have difficulty with plant-based hamburgers because of the texture, but this was perfect and honestly tasted just like beef. The toppings were fabulous and I was able to upgrade to sweet potato fries (from regular fries) for no extra charge. What a deal! I paired my lunch with a can of non-alcoholic Sam Adams IPA (another first try), and it was super-tasty! My colleague ordered Big Gary's meatloaf and said it was wonderful. Pro tip for conducting a meeting at The Red Door: The high-top tables in the bar area near the front door are quieter than the main dining room, due to the location of the music system's speakers. We had the table in the corner, and there was minimal traffic and it was easy to speak to each other. Again, MANY thanks to Chastity--and to the cooks in the kitchen--for such a great experience and helping to make our lunch meeting a success! We really appreciate you!

We ordered several items and everything had great flavor. The server was diligent about figuring out ingredients for us since we are cautious with a new food allergy. He helped make sure the dishes were prepared properly and safely, which we really appreciated. I believe his name was Chris. Service overall was very good. The server checked on us just right. We never needed to seek him out and he was always there right when we needed something. The only small issue with service was when we asked for extra sauce. It never came even though someone who was not the server took the request. We made reservations and specifically asked to be sat in the mezzanine because it was a big celebration. That request was not acknowledged. It would be helpful if they considered those seating preferences when they are offered as an option. We did not notice a changing table in the bathrooms. Now that we have a child and cannot always find a sitter, we pay more attention to things like that. Overall it was a good meal with tasty food and attentive service. A couple of small things kept it from being perfect, but we enjoyed it and would return.

Visited early on a Saturday, before the dinner rush, and without reservations, and we picked this place because of some positive Yelp reviews. So glad that we did. Casual attire is okay, and the interior has a great vibe overall. Kind greeter! Lauren was our server, and she was superb, guiding us through their menu and offering elite suggestions with a pleasant tone throughout. Lauren is an All-Star. Our house salad appetizer was really good, and then the amazing level surged to the table. My Salmon dish was magnificent, so flavorful and incredibly well-presented. Perfectly placed on a bed of succulent wild rice and topped with delicious vegetables. It was one of the tastiest dishes that I can remember. Finished by splitting their banana cream pie, which was so good. All in. Loved it. We will come to KC again in the Spring, and we will absolutely visit Rye Plaza again after this visit.

So we loaded up and showed up one day around Noon. Ambiance was really cool. It's in the middle of some sort of progressive looking shanty-esque suburb. The kind of place that does drag queen bingo. I was right at home. Inside was college sport bar, but with a nice, huge board on the wall of all their beer selection. It Was quite expansive. Service was top notch, too. Nice server took care of us, made sure our glasses were never empty. The food came out at a good clips, and we got an unexpected bonus of free little beignet-like donuts with some delicious dipping sauces. As for food, we started off with a jumbo order of the Truffle Parmesan Hand-Cut Fries for the table. We got to choose two from their extensive list of aioli dipping sauces. Fries were good. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes. We started with the Mini Cheddar Biscuits to share, which come with four biscuits. They were excellent--fluffy on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The cheddar flavor hit first, followed by a touch of sweetness from the honey, and the combination worked really well. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken, substituted the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese, and added a side of collard greens. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and fried. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy with a nice crunch from the breadcrumb topping. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. They had a great smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being overly salty. The only downside to the experience was the service toward the end of our meal. We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to come by so we could get drink refills and the check. We eventually had to wave them down, even though they were working right in front of us. Overall, the food was outstanding and easily made up for the minor service issue. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

He smiled and said half price wine! Our server was attentive, but he ordered the food all together instead of coursing it out. I should have asked for half of mine to come out early as we were sharing. The tacos were ok, good flavor, but basic presentation. The Fries were delicious, the Brussels and Cauliflower were awesome. The Hawaiian Ribeye was also good, cooked perfectly, good flavor, but the chilled cucumber salad on a warm plate was an interesting choice... We were off to a show, so we didn't have time for dessert.
