Went to Third Street Social with some friends and will definitely be back. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived, so we chose to sit at the bar rather than wait for a table near the entrance. We started with the Mini Cheddar Biscuits to share, which come with four biscuits. They were excellent--fluffy on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The cheddar flavor hit first, followed by a touch of sweetness from the honey, and the combination worked really well. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken, substituted the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese, and added a side of collard greens. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and fried. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy with a nice crunch from the breadcrumb topping. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. They had a great smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being overly salty. The only downside to the experience was the service toward the end of our meal. We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to come by so we could get drink refills and the check. We eventually had to wave them down, even though they were working right in front of us. Overall, the food was outstanding and easily made up for the minor service issue. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu. read more

They have happy hour in the Lounge-bar every day from 3-6pm. Parking can be challenging as they only have a small parking lot on the north side of the restaurant and lots of great restaurants nearby. We parked a block south on 51st Street and walked into the restaurant at 540pm on a Thursday. I ordered half the happy hour menu and my friend ordered a bottle of Moscato and the Ribeye. He smiled and said half price wine! Our server was attentive, but he ordered the food all together instead of coursing it out. I should have asked for half of mine to come out early as we were sharing. The tacos were ok, good flavor, but basic presentation. The Fries were delicious, the Brussels and Cauliflower were awesome. The Hawaiian Ribeye was also good, cooked perfectly, good flavor, but the chilled cucumber salad on a warm plate was an interesting choice... We were looking for a spot for a sort of impromptu dinner for six; something above fast-casual, but not super fancy, where a variety of pallets would be satisfied. This was it! Pretty good first experience here. To be perfectly honest, I'm not the best demographic for a spot like this. When I go out to eat, I'm often looking for something well outside the my cooking wheelhouse, e.g., Indian food, Thai curries, sushi, etc. However, the menu here is nice and it was promising. One thing that flew under the radar but was nice is that the side area we were sat in was not super loud. That's a nice touch, especially when with the grandparents. Service was good, and I we all opened with some honey butter biscuits that I thought were good, even if my kids wouldn't go near them. One of my kids had sliders off the kids menu, and the other had a little chicken and waffle combo. Each was a big hit. I wasn't wanting to break the caloric bank, so I found a Nashville hot chicken salad that ended up being really good! It had a creamy bleu cheese, black eyed peas, and some other fun touches. It's like, half healthy, half dressing and fried chicken, but it was great. Could use some more veggies/greens overall, but I'd get it again. We parked up by Eggtc. in the Visitation lot and it's a half block walk from there. If it's open, I recommend it. All in all, a nice spot! Loved the space and the way there was a clear divide between the bar area and restaurant seating. My cousin was in from out of town and I wanted him to try the S'more's Pie because I always want S'more! Even though when you call, you may be told to go to the website to make a reservation, this time it showed they were full. But we went anyway, and got seated right away. I ordered the Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Salmon, which had almost no sauce or stuffing, and it had some really hard particles in it that I couldn't identify. It came with 2 unlisted sides, which had I known, I would have subbed something for the very thick, hard to cut asparagus. But the cheesy mashed potatoes were delicious, as was the actual salmon part of the entree! My cousin ordered the Shrimp & Grits, which was supposed to be cheesy, but it was nothing like what he expected, or how the menu lists it...so ask questions before you order it! The grits were unrecognizable and buried under a lot of spicy red sauce, and he had to pick out and peel the shrimp out of the shells, which was a really messy task! There were also some small pieces of meat in the jumbled mix he thought might be beef. Once he got used to the spicy heat, and had sauce all over his hands trying to get the shrimp out of their shells, he decided it was actually quite good. And the S'mores Pie was beautifully presented and delicious! Their dessert tray is one of the highlights of Third Street Social. Each location I've been to has one big drawback...If you want to converse with your fellow diners, it will be difficult because it is always very loud and noisy no matter where you sit. So next time I may just go in and buy a piece of S'more's Pie, and go someplace quiet to enjoy it! read more

I like this space , however our experience here was not the best . We had reservations and they seated us with no enough chairs to accommodate our guests. My shrimp was delicious. The sauce was creole not a lot of bbq taste which I was fine with. Came with a baguette. I did not order an entree because some of our guests were already standing up and I just didnt feel good ordering while they couldn't fill enjoy themselves. The lights went out on us . While eating the manager says that is what happens after a certain time. My thing was that there were no lighted candles like the other tables had. I did not want eat on the dark. I was so impressed by all of the food our party had the charred wings, Korean steak tacos, the shrimp and crab, stuffed salmon, and the brownie that's wrapped in Filo dough with ice cream and raspberry swirl. The staff is always hospitable and great at helping guide you to the perfect dish. A few standouts: the "Caesar" salad comes with a green goddess-style dressing instead of the traditional kind, and it totally works -- super tasty. The mac and cheese is rich and creamy, and the Nashville hot chicken is seriously spicy (in the best way). I've already been back several times, and it's quickly becoming a go-to local spot. I had came here for dinner with some friends. I had ordered the prime rib special available only on the weekend. I also ordered the burnt ends appetizer. My son had the chicken tenders with fries and a starry. The starry tasted like water. It was watered down and the server did come back with a different soda. The prime rib wasn't really a great prime rib, you can see in the photos that there wasn't much marbling and it tasted a bit bland. The au jus that came with the prime rib made it better. The sides were okay. I didn't like the cream sauce vegetables (?) it tasted disgusting, and quite odd. The burnt ends tasted like pork belly cubed up and sauced up with bbq sauce. My friends enjoyed their salmon and Hawaiian ribeye. The decor was very pleasing and the lighting was dim all around except for each individual so I g table with an overhead light. It is very modern and nice. Overall, it's not a bad place to try and explore the menu, but I don't think it's my cup of tea read more

What a great find!! We made online reservations for Brunch and loved our meals! We started off with the carafe of mimosas which were wonderful, and the fried donut holes with raspberry jam. SO good! I had a reservation tonight at this restaurant for 4 guests at 6pm. We arrived a few minutes early and were told we had no reservation. I pulled up the two emails I had received from the restaurant: the first was the confirmation and the second was the reminder which I got yesterday. The hostess was sure I had reserved at the wrong location but I showed him it was this location. He offered no apology or reason for the mix up. He told us he would put us on the wait list which was a wait of an hour and a half. He offered us no accommodation at all. I've had this newer location for Third Street Social on my list for some time so when a friend asked if we could meet here for lunch I jumped at the chance. It's located along main street near the Peanut, in the old Nick & Jake's building. I feel like this spot sees a lot of turnover so I'm pulling for Third Street to be a local presence in this location for years to come. The ambiance is nice, I found it to be a bit chilly indoors, but you know it was early fall and with temperatures fluctuating it might just have been the nature of the time of year we found ourselves in. The salmon salad I had was very tasty, though nothing I couldn't get just about anywhere in town. Overall I'd say the food here and the ambiance make for a nice little local spot. I would like to see some more stand out entrees, but honestly it all tasted great and the food my friend got looked even better. I'm sure I'll be back soon! read more

Five of us were seated in a large, half-moon booth comfortably, if our 6th hadn't fallen ill, it would have been a tight fit. Another great server! Kailee was super nice, worked with us on our choices, very accommodating to our requests. She was great. A round of drinks, I enjoyed mine even if I forget the name. Brussells Sprout appetizer? I am ordering it! Crispy Fried Brussels and Cauliflower was super good, a nice roast with just enough crispiness. It could have used more cauliflower. It was about 75/25 ratio. Order the slow roasted prime rib sandwich. It was smoky, tender, the bread was soft. The combo of horseradish and au jus put it over the top. I stopped myself at half but it was so good I could have eaten the whole sandwich. We were on our way home when i realized my leftovers where in the fridge of the place we stayed. Went here for brunch and ended up being one of the highlights of our weekend! My wife loved her mimosa and I ordered a Bloody Mary. It's Dill Pickle flavored (I ordered mine spicy) and it was Top 10 Bloodies that I've ever had. My wife had the Biscuit sandwich. This was really good, mainly because of the cheese biscuits that everything was squeezed between, otherwise, a typically breakfast sandwich. I ordered the Hot Chicken Benny, which they also said is the most popular dish. It wasn't the "best Benny I've ever had" but definitely items the most unique with the friend chicken tender and egg combination.
