False advertisement and a rip off. Disappointed. I see that this guy has great reviews so I hate to mess it up but I must be honest with my experience. I was so excited to be moved into my apartment and finally get my TV mounted. My Dad wanted to chip in on the move so he bought an Amazon deal from "TV Guy Jay" to put up my TV. I made an appointment and he arrived early. Very nice guy. Everything was going great until I realized he might be trying to rip me off. I will simply tell my story, and let the reader decide if I am in the wrong. My TV was previously mounted at my old apartment and already had a mount attached. In the deal, you get a free mount with your TV to put it up. I figured since it came with the deal that I would simply have him put up the new mount since I was already paying for it. When he arrived he asked me if I would rather him put up the mount already attached or use the new mount. I told him the new mount was fine since it was paid for but he mentioned that my old mount was a swivel where as the new mount was not. I was more keen on having the swivel mount to move it so that I could see it in my kitchen so I told him if he could hang the swivel mount that would be great. We discussed the height and centering of the TV and off to work he went. Everything was great -- no problems whatsoever -- until I mentioned that I would still want to keep the mount that I paid for. He told me that it was a no go and that we were actually "even" because the time he would spend putting up the swivel mount would take longer. I told him that what he was saying did not make sense. I paid for the mount and labor -- not just labor. The deal mentioned nothing about time and being charged more if it took over a certain allotted time. He was verbally adding a rule to the deal. He admitted that I was right -- there was nothing in the deal that stated time frame. He had been there for 30 minutes and was predicting that his labor would go over a time limit that did not exist anywhere in the deal. I was told that his job was now a 2 person job (why is his short staffing my fault?). I told him if the swivel mount was a challenge then I could understand. He said he did this all the time and had put up "over a hundred TVs" and that it was not a challenge to him. So why was I being penalized for a rule that isn't state in the deal? You just basically told me it was an easy job. Very confusing. I must add that when moving out of my old apartment, my sister and I took down the mount ourselves, in under 5 minutes (oh it surprised me too). The mount attached was already put together. All he had to do was find the stud and put 2 screws into the wall. Not take anything out of a box, put together any parts, etc. Imagine the feeling you get when you think you got a great deal and then realize the person is trying to get over on you. It's frustrating. I had paid for labor and a mount but yet I was being cheated by only paying for labor. And half the labor was already done! Not much of a deal. When he admitted that there was no rule stating this he decided that he needed to think about it. No more than 30 seconds later he was out the door -- telling me he could not commit to his original deal. As he was on his way out, I mentioned that he might want to add that rule in the future, seeing as how leaving it out unfortunately wasted my time and his gas. He cut me off and said "I decided to leave. Why are we even talking?" Once he started talking to me like a child and no longer a customer -- it was a lot easier to let him walk out that door. Maybe I am crazy for wanting exactly what I paid for. If a job is more difficult -- if you don't have experience putting up swivel mounts -- speak on it. I wish I could say I had the 5 star experience that everyone else had, but unfortunately for me, my TV is still sitting on the floor. Nice guy, but I'm no dummy. Booking was easy. Installers showed up on time and were very nice. However, I'm now in the process of mounting my soundbar (with laser level) and noticed that the TV is slanted to the right by .5". Not major, but certainly annoying. read more

Highly unprofessional. I requested a copy of their insurance certificate and was sent one that was expired. Even with the expired cert, I scheduled an appointment and had a check ready for them. Jay mounted a tricky new curved OLED LG 55EC9300 and broke down and set up a new entertainment setup. He also mounted a second tv and cleaned up a bunch of exposed wires so it would like nice and clean. When it comes to buy electronics I'm picky but to buy a TV.. So after over 2 weeks of research, driving around and going on every possible website I finally made my mined and found the best product for my money and decided to go for it. Happily driving back home from shop a little thought came to my mined and I started to think how would I get this $2K thing installed and the last thing I wanted to do is to start messing around with that and take a risk of braking something before even using it. Luckily I remember that a friend of mine just moved to a new place few months ago and has his set up installed very nicely so I gave him a quick call and got these guys number. I had many services done in my life but I've got to say that this one was one of the best, Jay was just Super professional, he knew exactly what he's doing and just did an amazing job! He recommended and mounted the tv on the perfect height, did a very clean nice job and the best of all is that you can't even see any wires on the wall and it looks super natural and flowing with my living room. I began communicating with Jay this past weekend for an install of a TV. He was prompt and professional and accommodated me for a change in our scheduled time for an install due to a work matter. Frank the installer came the next day on time and wow what an amazing guy he was. I have an OCD wife and as soon as Frank came in and saw no one had shoes on he took his shoes off and put it right to the side before I even asked. He took our old mount down and installed it in the new location. He even took the time to patch the holes in the prior wall. He was a class act and he was in and out in roughly 35 minutes. Got my TV mounted last night and I am incredibly happy with the results! Jay was quick at responding when I first inquired about the cost of the labor and the mount and he was also very accommodating of my schedule. They provide a mount with the service if you need it, but I had one already so it saved me $20. I will definitely use these guys for any future TV mounting/installation. My television has always sat on a TV stand but with a new addition to my household- a now 9 month old child who is getting into everything- I decided to do what I've been hesitant to and mount my TV.
