The last time I visited SeaTac, I brought in a much loved blue TUMI backpack that had a ripstop nylon lining which had torn in several places and was well out of their warranty period. The craftsman at TW Carrol wasn't sure if it could be repaired but he agreed to try and quoted a reasonable price. We also arranged for shipping back to California. The backpack came back 3 weeks later. I am very pleased with the repair, I can't even see where most of the tears were! I now have a functional, great looking backpack that should last several more years, for hundreds less than the cost of a new one. The product quality completed seems to be good but the customer service is terrible. The women who gave me my products when I picked them up was very smug and condescending. I asked where the shoes were I dropped off because she only gave me the bag. She just looked at me and I said are they in the purse, her response was "are they not". I unzipped the purse and they were. I responded that I wouldn't think they would be in the purse to prevent it from getting dirty inside (They put my worn work shoes inside my satin lined purse). Her response was to just smirk at me. Terrible to not give a bag for the two items or atleast for shoes, and if a customer's shows concern over dirty shoes in her very clean and expensive purse you'd atleast apologize and offer a bag. read more

We have been using a rolling suitcase for about 6 years and we travel a lot so it has been on at least 10 trips since Sept. 2022. On our last trip, one of the wheels must have picked up a stone and jammed because it wore out dragging on the ground. I emailed them a picture and they told me it would be $28.50. When I took the bag in, I mentioned that the zipper pulls had been lost on one of the compartments and they said they could fix them. The actual charge was $48.50 plus tax. That seemed a bit high but they are really the only game in town for expert luggage repairs. The bag was repaired in about a week. As it turned out, all they had to do was drill out the rivet holding the wheel, put on a new wheel and replace the rivet and crimp on a few new pulls. I recently moved into a retirement community and no longer have the tools to do these repairs. Otherwise, they would have been simple DIY fixes, assuming I had the parts. Bottom line is that DIY will be a lot cheaper but these guys know what they are doing and you won't have to round up the parts. The luggage would have cost at least $150 to replace. read more

Always a pleasure to leave a well deserved 5-star review With my Briggs and Riley suitcase in need of a new wheel and some frame repair, I first contacted the factory repair facility in Long Island, NY After some days I received an e-mail reply, not with the expected 'RA' 'Return Authorisation' number but with a request for photos and a description of the necessary repairs Waste of time :( and an unwelcome adverse change from previous positive experiences with the factory ) With my travel schedule having me in Seattle for a few days, a visit to the Briggs and Riley website revealed that TW Carrol is an "Extensive Repair Facility" capable of "Minor, moderate, and broad repairs and beyond." Thus did I call their offices near the Southcenter Mall in Tukwila ahead of my arrival in Seattle After assuring me that they had the necessary parts on hand, and could repair the item within the duration of my visit to Seattle, I left the suitcase with them after arriving on a Wednesday morning Amazingly, Andy Carrol called just 48 hours later to - let me know both wheels and a broken 'expander' and had been replaced; and - confirmed the airport hotel address where he could drop the bag the next day (Saturday, after normal business hours!) Online I connected with Halliburton. As you told me, I sent you my suitcase in May 2014 for repair. I bought it for $800 ten years ago. When I purchase it, the was an unlimited warranty, Not now. Regardless, I needed it fixed. The left lock was broken. I got a message from Halliburton that the CENTER lock was fine. IT WAS LEFT LOCK. Received a nice note that parts were ordered and I'd get my bag this week. NO. It's been well over a month and my bag has not been fixed. I was told by the Halliburton rep you had the parts. You suck. At this point don't even fix it. Please send me my suitcase back and refund me me $30 shipping. I'll deal with Halliburton on this. Update: According to the Halliburton rep, I'm not the only one who is waiting for their case to be repaired. While waiting at the curb for a pickup at SeaTa I discovered that both zipper heads had been ripped out of the zipper track in the underside section my TravelPro bag. In searching online for "luggage repairs" I found T.W. Carrol. I phoned them and was advised to bring the bag in so that they could properly evaluate it, and I did drop it off the next expressing hope that any possible repair could be done quickly because I needed a bag for more required travel coming up. I was amazed at how quickly they made the repair and its quality. Based on my experience this is a really good business with very nice, knowledgeable and competent people, and as for pricing my reaction was that they were not charging enough for their excellent service---which I took into consideration when making payment. UPDATE: ...the wheel they put on broke off after two trips...I managed to get VISA to cancel the $35 charge that TW Carrol charged me to install that ineffective wheel... I ended up doing some research and discovered the Samsonite store in Bellevue sends their repair request to a place in Portland. From the email I received, it is Finks. I filled out the form provided via the link the staff from Bellevue gave me and dropped off my broken luggage at their store. My luggage was repaired and returned to me via UPS within one week!!! (Dropped off on a Tuesday, got it back on Saturday) No charges for the shipment either. Was told because it was a "Black Label" item and it was covered under the lifetime warranty. I have lived out of my suitcase over the last 40 years. When it comes to repairing your old favorite luggage or buying the latest and greatest good stuff, this is the place! My favorite carry on Victorinox (Swiss Army) roller board needed new handles and some cosmetic touch ups after a million miles of being stowed on Boeing and Airbus overheads. I am looking forward to picking up the refurb next week and it will be better than anything purchased new today! I did drool at some nice top end luggage and know when I am ready to upgrade, they have my stuff in stock! Update! My luggage was not ready when I came by so they promised to ship it to my home prepaid UPS the following week. When it arrived it exceeded all my expectations. Both top and side handles were new and the frayed edges were all repaired and the appearance was almost new. I don't enjoy the commute, but once you find them it's been fun perusing through the storefront and see what's the latest bags and travel gears. I'm so glad I invested in guarantee for life luggage with Briggs and Riley luggage 20 years ago! I've put over 100,000 miles in this luggage since then. Always great service when repairing my Briggs and Riley luggage! The B&R co. truly stand behind their guarantee for life repair and TW Carroll does most of the repairs in house. If they have to ship the luggage out for repair then you might have to pay for the shipment. The works that have been repaired over the last 20 years are. Wheel replacements, handle replacements, zipper lining repairs, zipper tag replacements, reinforce the exterior with plastic corners, ripped interior lining, Velcro on handle replacements, missing rivets replaced, literally anything to get the bag in good functioning and presentable order.
