Buyer beware! Our preferred movers double-booked our moving…read moreday, so we tried Melrose. They were not the cheapest, so I thought I was paying for quality. They damaged some small items and never followed up after I told them about the items. They said they would send it to a manager, and I never heard back. I even sent a follow up reminder. We haven't unwrapped everything and I'm really worried when we do. Isn't this why they have insurance? I mean, it was less than a couple hundred dollars worth of "valuable to us" items. We paid them thousands, and I tipped their workers more than the damage would have been. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I've given them almost 2 months to reply. I will say, the movers were some of the most polite I've ever met!

OOPS, yea AFTER he dropped a box (that had huge letters that said "FRAGILE" written on top) and broke a couple dishes. No big deal.. Let's keep rolling. They get the truck loaded and made up in there mind they aren't gonna take everything. Who does that? Yes, I had to personally take three trips myself after they left. Okay, the move downtown. We get to my new apartment in downtown Austin and they begin bringing up my belongings. As they walk into my new apartment they immediately begin scratching the new hardwood floor and scraping the walls up. I'm getting angry even typing this. At this point I really wanted to just say dude, please just leave, however they were still bringing my things up. The cable guy was here at the same time and witnessed them dropping things to the point where he asked me "Where did you find these guys?" I said, YELP! Finally, at the end i had a check written for $350 which is what Chris quoted me. All the sudden is says the price is $437.50 (Not the price you gave me over the phone dude) Me being the nice guy I am walked over to the ATM and gave him a $100 and said just keep it dude. Sure I'll pay the extra for you to RUN, not walk, but RUN as far away from me as you can. WORD OF ADVICE TO ANYONE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Chris, the owner said to write the check payable to "Covered Contracting LLC" which is his parent company? Sounds kind of fishy to me. WILL NOT BE USING THEM EVER AGAIN. Now the only thing I'm looking for is moving help. I've been searching high and low and went on Craigslist to the labor section and found an ad for these guys. They seemed to be great and know what they were doing and have decent prices, but upon texting the number listed in the ad, I got no response for about 14 hours. Not a great way to start doing business with someone but again, I understand that he's running a business and may have been busy with a client. Onto this morning when I finally received a response. It all seemed very positive and I was about to schedule with him when he began to pressure me and made me extremely uncomfortable, asking me, "do you want a badass mover or a punkass mover?" amongst other pressurized questions. After explaining to him, as calmly as I could, that I would think it over, he turns around and says that after checking his calendar, he's completely booked for the day I originally asked about. After a few choice words, excluding vulgarities, I simply blocked him to avoid any lashing out on his end. It may not seem like much, but when you're in a tight spot with limited funds, and find someone you think might be a good fit to help you out, it's pretty difficult when you encounter a man-child. Unprofessional. Arrogant. Pushy. Rude. Pricy (for someone on a tight budget). If you have any other options, go with those. I hear Einstein Movers have a wonderful reputation and are affordable!

I got a text from him the evening before to change pick up time to 8am. I said 9am would be better. One of his employees called next morning at 9:30am stating they were trying to get a driver. I waited two hours called back and never got an answer. I was also texting Jackson and no response from him either. So I cancelled after two hours of no response. So they only loaded the truck, I drove it across country and on the other side the unloaders could not believe how poorly it was loaded. Something as simple as stacking carboard boxes on top of heavy duty bins was missed. (see photos) They put my $60 target stools upside down so the legs were facing upwards and then put my chairs upholstery side down on those legs... they did this for BOTH of my living room chairs... (see photo) They HAD TRIED to put a mini fridge full on the inside on top of a crate and barrel wooden console with tiny thin legs. I made them NOT do that - much to their chagrin - while they walked all over it inside the truck. They ruined approximately $2000 worth of furniture. All in all - I lost more in damages than the loading even cost, got no help afterwards and I am lucky that I escaped with the damage I had - it could have easily been 2x-3x the amount had I let them stack the fridge on top of the other stuff. DO NOT HIRE SIMPLER MOVING!!!…read more **Use the services of Simpler Moving if you have a lot of money and don't want any broken items paid for after you've paid for their services.** Luke, Stephen, and Sawyer were very polite and easy to work with... while packing things. Luke and Stephen then unpacked everything as requested, putting things where I asked, which did save me the hours of unwrapping all my things, freeing me from breaking down all the boxes and dealing with all the packing paper. *Keep in mind* I knew going in that I had hired one of the most expensive movers out there, but I had to move very quickly so had little choice. HOWEVER... When I contacted Luke, then later Layne the owner, after I found a broken clock, a ripped duvet cover, and I realized the tape used to keep my earrings from falling out of my earring pocket storage display had ruined it (removal of the tape left a sticky residue I couldn't get off even with Goo Gone) I was IGNORED COMPLETELY. Then, Layne promised it was so a mix-up and my money would be refunded back on my credit card I paid with originally. Still haven't seen that money. This was after I had written a GLOWING review (which they did respond to, go figure).  I included photos of my destroyed items. I even sent screenshots of exactly where replacements could be ordered including each replacement cost. Total reparations only came to $106.19. Considering I paid them $3,421.80 to move and unpack for me, I can't believe Layne is so cheap that he is SIMPLY avoided paying for so little, and so easily. Sure wish I could get back even some of the extra tip money I overpaid. It would easily cover the cost of my things.

This is my second move in less than two years and my last experience with Two Men and a Truck was horrible. MASH showed up right at start time and made magic happen.
