My daughter lived there for two years. She did not damage to the apartment and cleaned thoroughly when she left. They kept the security deposit to clean and repaint. The photos did not show any wall damage and only a hair which is expected especially since they took two week to inspect. It is not legal to keep a security deposit for routine maintenance but they know most people won't sue if they live outside Austin. read more

If you are a parent looking for an apartment for your UT student please DO NOT rent at this place. Twenty Two 15 deserves its 2 yelp stars! My son only lived here for one year and I just received the final account bill from my son's move-out. We were charged $86.67 in cleaning fees and $210.00 in painting fees. I specifically hired a cleaning crew on his move-out date to clean his apartment from top to bottom. There was nothing else to clean. I am not sure what the painting fee is for because my son didn't hang anything on the walls or damage the paint in any way. My daughter stayed at a different college apartment complex for three years and when she moved out, she was only charged $35.75 in fees and part of that was because she lost one of the mail keys. The management company of this apartment is taking advantage of the students and ripping them off. They do this because often students do not have enough rental experience to realize that they are being overcharged. This apartment bills itself as an "upscale" housing community but the walls are paper-thin, you can hear your neighbors talking, plus there is a high rise being built next door and you can hear the machinery and the constant hammering of the construction workers throughout the day and night. The hallways often had a weird smell and the trash was always overflowing in the trash areas on each floor. The people who work in the office are there evidently just to pick up a paycheck because when you contact them with an issue they could care less and they never seemed to know what to do. read more

Overall, I am satisfied with my stay at twentytwo15. The staff was very kind (David was great). The apartment is a quiet complex. Not many parties are thrown. My dog enjoyed the turf area. They offer a lot of prizes so make sure to follow their instagram! When comparing to other apartments nearby they give you the bare minimum. The amenities were not inviting and the gym hours are from 10 am to 4 pm, which is when most students are at school or work. They began to remodel the amenities but I moved out before getting to utilize them. They are understaffed. When the maintenance and cleaning staff are off on the weekends the trash rooms get filled and reek up the entire hall way. The elevators are always down. With all that being said if you are someone who is easy-going and does not mind a couple inconveniences here and there this apartment is overall a decent place to live. It is very close to campus and other restaurants in West campus. I also received 73% of my security deposit back. A great apartment for West Campus living, this complex is small enough to stay quiet throughout the building and feel like you are known by name by the staff. The staff is beyond helpful, from maintenance to the office. The location is a perfect walk to campus and nearby student dining options. The floors are very solid so you won't hear anyone above you stomping. The gym features. Great variety of equipment, and sanitation during the pandemic is something that is taken very seriously here. This may be pretty nice and convenient but it comes with a price. To start off, this place is not on top of keeping the area clean. There will be glass on the floor from broken beer bottles and it will stay there for about 3-4 days. I would tell the office and they still would not get it taken care of. Environment You are right in the middle of West Campus, and there is SO much construction going on. Skyloft is a 10 second walk down and they have a deadline to meet, which means construction going on ALL night. If construction is your favorite song, go ahead and live here because it's on repeat all the time. The gym Pretty decent gym, except some machines do not work and the bathroom inside is absolutely disgusting. The rent This complex is SUPER shady about rent. I truly believe they scam their residents. I have supposedly gotten a "returned check" resulting in a $50 non-sufficient funds fee and on top of that another $50 for a late fee. I have called my bank and it showed that I had plenty of money to pay for it, and that online it did not even show that they ATTEMPTED to withdraw the money. Because of the returned check, I am no longer able to pay with E-check which is only a $1.00 convenience fee compared to the $35 convenience fee when paying with a debit card. They really charged me $0.53 and I had to pay the convenience fee to pay for freaking 53 cents. This whole system seems super sketchy, and if I was not already going to move out, I would sue their asses. I'm really glad you guys enjoy milking money out college students. ONE WORD: MOLD!!! 'There were MANY issues at this apartment, including a level of miscommunication and incompetency in the leasing office that is just unacceptable when dealing with peoples' places of residence. Every interaction with the office has been infuriating because there is a different answer to any given question depending on who picks up the phone. Office manager is disrespectful as well. To start off, I subleased a room in an apartment illegally, but with the building's permission, because the building never bothered to get proper double occupancy paperwork, so I had to draft my own lease addendum with the original leasers. The mold was the last straw. My apartment had been damp since I moved in (clothes on the floor became damp, my shoes became damp, etc.) I called the "Emergency Maintenance answering service" after I discovered the mold on Memorial Day while the office was closed and did not get a call back. I called the next day during office hours and was still redirected to an answering service. After leaving a voicemail about the mold, I received a call back about 20 minutes later from the head maintenance person. He suggested we do a walk-through of the unit together, after entering the apartment while I was not there. When I arrived at the building (I spent the night with a friend because I was obviously concerned about sleeping in a potentially toxic mold-infested unit), he asked me to show him, "where you thought you saw mold". I pointed out about 20 different areas in the apartment where various species of mold were growing. Throughout the inspection, he kept referring to the patches as "mildew", thought that was clearly not what they were (I literally study mycology). He told me he would RUN TESTS beause this was "not his area of expertise" to see what it was (mold or mildew) and do the best he could to resolve the issue, and that he needed me to fill out some paperwork in the office. He and the attendant working in the office kept speaking to the manager who was in a separate little room and then reiterating her words to me even though I could hear her, instead of her just coming out to talk to me herself. They asked me to wait in the office for about 20 minutes before the attendant finally asked the manager what I was waiting for and the manager told her that they actually didn't need me for anything. So definitely adding insult to injury there... About two hours later I get a call from the office attendant who informed me that the mold had been "cleaned" and the apartment was "good to go". She could not tell me how they rid the apartment of mold in two hours. She said the maintenance person was confident that it was just mildew (even though he told me he knew nothing about mycological identification). She also informed me upon my asking that they DID NOT RUN ANY LAB TESTS to confirm the species of the fungi. I was appalled at the lack of effort or concern by the maintenance team. Later that day, I returned to the apartment to clean out my things. That was when I saw what they called "good to go". All the furniture in the living room was piled in the center of the room. Three industrial fans were running at full blast, and they had posted signs on the doors to "Please leave the equipment running". I don't know how anyone is supposed to sleep with an industrial fan running 3 feet from the bed. Not to mention that, of course, there was still mold. A lesson for everyone reading this, including 2215: A key difference between mold and mildew is that you cannot get rid of mold by cleaning it with Lysol, which is exactly what I'm assuming they did. They scraped the fruiting bodies off the mold (the fuzzy green white and black part), but the mycelium were still visible in the light. Fans do not help. This place is utterly disgusting, and everyone who works here is beyond incompetent. I would STRONGLY discourage anyone from signing a lease here. read more

This has been the worst experience we have had renting apartments in West Campus. Do not rent an apartment at this complex if at all possible. We absolutely regret having rented from them for the past 2 years. In an effort to maximize the money they can make at the end of the lease, they send out a closing statement charging for everything from paint & caulk (which are normal wear & tear issues) and also charge for furniture that they did not deliver. When we moved in, they said that they were out of furniture so we accommodated and did without it for 2 years. Now we are being charged for furniture that did not exist in the first place. To make matters worse, the only person you can contact is Cody and he wants every dispute to be made via email. Also, Cody states that he is on a plane to his grandmother's funeral (seriously?!?) and that is why he is unable to pick up the phone and speak to me. There is absolutely nobody you can talk to even in a case where you are being accused of stealing furniture that was never received. I asked to speak to the owners of the apartment complex but have not received any reply yet. read more

Don't rent at this place. My daughter moved out recently and I cleaned her apartment from top to bottom. It was spotless. I even took a ladder to clean the ceiling fans. Management even had the audacity to recommend cleaning the toilet with a toothbrush..... yes it was in writing. Today we get a final account balance and she owes!!! Charged $406.25 floor charges, $281.25 paint charges and extra $25 cleaning charges. WTF!!!! This is ridiculous!!! Shame on this management company. I would give this place a 0 if I could. This apartment is GREAT... if you want someone to steal your money. I swear I have paid like $1000 in just fees because this apartment has fees for EVERYTHING (in a way any non-student apartment would NEVER do) and will even charge you unfairly. They are not accommodating at all and they don't charge roommates all the same either (even though me and my roommates all signed for the same stuff and this the same fees), they'll do it differently for everyone so that NOBODY knows what is going on. Have to reduce by a star because when we moved out, we cleaned so well, meticulously and as thoroughly as humanly possible. They charged us the entire cleaning fee as if nothing was done at all, $110. They charged us for normal wear and tear, and the cost to have the ENTIRE unit repainted-- $1000 in total. It was absolutely crazy and came by complete surprise. Outrageous.. Shame. Lost their good reputation. BE SURE to ask the management to do a walk-thru before moving out or you might be in for some HUGE financial burdens. read more

There are so many negative things I could say about this apartment complex and its staff, but I'll try to keep it quick. 1. The furnishings and pretty much every part of the apartment are very cheap. Things fell apart regularly, and the low-quality flooring broke off and scratched like it was made of tissue paper. Maintenance was generally very prompt and courteous, though. 2. The office staff members are an absolute nightmare. Usually the student workers are friendly but clueless, and the full timers are arrogant and they lie about fees. Summer was rude and condescending toward me numerous times. Heather, who I don't believe works at 2215 anymore, messed up every single form I ever turned in. Not exaggerating. 3. Move out fees. I was charged for the most irrelevant things, and heavily. In sum, the apartments look nice and it's a very quiet complex. However, it is not worth living here despite any of the amenities they offer. There are far better options in West Campus. If you're looking for a place that will milk every penny you've got - this is it!! After a fire caused by another tenant, the apartment we were living in two floors below was flooded - not by the sprinklers, but due to leakage from above. There was water literally dripping from lightbulb sockets - talk about poorly built. Our entire unit needed to have floors and walls redone, yet we were not offered any sort of compensation or alternative housing for our trouble. The workers hired to do the repairs had absolutely no regard for our belongings and simply threw everything into one corner - it looked as if a hurricane had rolled through the unit. Management offered absolutely no compensation, were very shady with communication, and were just rude about the whole situation. All in all, we were out of a place to live for 6 weeks - the only compensation we were given was one month of rent paid for our trouble. Under any circumstance - DO NOT choose to live here. Absolutely horrible management. Don't expect to get your deposit back because maintenance workers will ruin the floors and walls during maintenance requests, but you become liable. The management didn't do an in person walkthrough with me when it was an option that I scheduled. Many times, packages were delivered to the front office but not put out to residential mail boxes before the end of the day (so you had to wait until the next day.) I had medication delivered that this happened with multiple times. There are only two elevators and several times, either one or both elevators were out of service (which is against building code.) The location is the only good thing about it. Very quick walk to campus. Otherwise, this complex is an uphill battle. read more

This apartment seems like a standard west campus apartment- the rates are honestly really reasonable. I am signing here for next year, so will probably update my review depending on my experience. However, I had an AWFUL experience with one of the individuals who work here. Heather, who I believe is one of their managers or higher employees, called me today and spoke to me extremely rudely. I had not yet paid my deposit (which I had previously explained to another employee that I would pay once I was able to submit the guarantor form) and had not submitted my guarantor form, due to issues with the online platform. The guarantor form that they sent was faulty, and no matter how many times I attempted to help my guarantor fill out and submit it, it would come up with an error message. I explained this multiple times to the leasing agents, even requesting a copy of the form to scan and send back over, and at this point in time, I am still attempting to successfully submit the form via the platform they use. I received a call today from Heather about having not filled out the paperwork and having an incomplete security deposit. In this call, Heather was extremely rude, blaming me for not having completed these documents. I explained to her the situation regarding the online platform, and she responded saying the issue was on me, and I had 24 hours to submit, or she would cancel my lease. Once again, I explained the situation regarding the issues with the form, and yet, she maintained her rude and accusatory tone. This experience is tempting me to sign elsewhere, but at this point in time, I don't have another option, and honestly other than this experience, this apartment seems pretty good. If you have the option to not interact with Heather, take it. Dwight, on the other hand, has been an absolute joy to work with. This whole semester I've had issues with roommates continuously backing out, and he has remained patient and communicative throughout. Honestly, the star is for him. read more

PARENTS BEWARE: Parents please note that this property is not a member of the BBB and based on our experience they could never meet the criteria to become a member. This property management changes their terms from year to year without any proper notification. In years past the tenants were only responsible for the lease on their individual room. Now they are trying to hold the tenants accountable for the entire apartment. If a tenant was renting a room in a four bedroom apartment and the other three tenants do not renew, they will not renew the room lease to the remaining tenant. At this point they force the tenant to a one bedroom apartment if they can afford it. Or the tenant has to try to find three other individuals to lease the other rooms or move out (basically evicted). Also note other complaints about fictitious charges at move out. The office staff are young adults who are not empowered to provide much assistance on anything. This area has become plagued with the homeless, who have become very aggressive when panhandling. Austin PD will not and cannot do anything. UT police say it's out of their jurisdiction. So at this point your child is left to defend themselves. Homeless people are often found in tenants cars asleep, which parking is across the street from the building. Parents save yourself some grief and stay clear of Twenty Two 15 Apartments. read more

Even though the apartment is somewhat nice, it's not worth what you pay for. They will charge you like crazy at the very end (it's like a parting gift)-- it's not worth it. The front desk/staff people are pretty much jerks -- it's not worth it for that either. The gym has a few broken (but still essential) machines-- not worth. You live right next to Pluckers, and the windows aren't sealed very well (= loud nights)- nopenopenope They WILL increase rent every year. You can argue that rates are rising all around, but I know plenty of places that keep rents relatively stable (and not like $50-$80 jacks) If you live here-- you are but a mere cash cow. Compared to many of the other apartment options in West Campus, 2215 is probably one of the best if you're looking for quieter and cleaner environment. In my last 3 years as student, I've experienced places like the Block typically smelling terrible or having gross things like vomit in the elevators for weeks at a time. With 2215, that is never a concern and you can expect everything to be clean 9 times out of 10. Some major highlights for this complex is the close proximity to campus and the ELEVATOR SPEED! Many elevators run slow in WC, but 2215 is the exception! FASTEST elevators by far and I love it. The rooms are a decent size, nothing to brag about, but they are comfortable. The maintenance guys here are awesome. They are quick upon call and very friendly. My major complaints would be the staff like others have mentioned. They are not always the not the most friendly and typically ignore my emails unless there is some fee that I have missing. The worst part was the unnecessary move out charges. My roommates and I, 5 in total, were all charged around $300 EACH for cleaning, wear and tear, and painting fees?? When we moved out we had the whole place professionally cleaned and not to mention standard wear and tear is protected in the contract and should not have been added on the bill. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons not considering the money, but living here is a real investment with the high monthly rent, expensive parking and unexpected fees at move out. read more

This is probably one of the best places to live in west campus. It has all the advantages of a big complex without all the noise, trash, and vomit found in others. The building is very well kept and maintenance does a really awesome job! It is super close to campus and in a generally quiet area, except pluckers can get a little loud at times. The rooms are a good size and the living room area and kitchen is large as well for the 3 room floor plan! I would recommend anyone to live here. It is pet friendly and strict about cleanliness/security. read more

I don't recommend this apartment property to anyone. You will be cheated at the end. First, they have very poor customer service and they are very rude to people. They treat tenants as if they are animals. It's not about amenities, believe me at the end you will be cheated and slammed with bills at the end of the lease for things you never thought were damaged. They take advantage of people by trying to replace appliances in the apartment and guess who ends up paying for it, the old tenants after they leave. This apartment is a complete rip off! When my roommates and I moved in and said the floors were damaged on the move-in form and now they're charging us for the damage claiming we did it. What's more is I contacted the previous tenants and they were charged for the same thing. So they're lining their pockets off random fees. My child lived in this complex for two years. Not a good experience. Cheap construction. Unpleasant, spoiled brats in the management office. Shoddy repair work done during lease. Then, at the end of the lease term, they charged excessive amounts for repairs that they did not perform properly in the first place and to repaint the apartment. Only paid because my daughter was concerned about her credit; I would have fought them in a lawsuit. Yelp makes you give at least one star, but that's alright because the place looks nice and is fairly new. The location is good, the place is usually clean and quiet, and the appliances are nice. Also there's a young maintenance guy who is pretty cool, he deserves a raise. But everything else about the place is awful. If you decide to live here get ready for fees, fees, and more fees. Everything seems great when you sign. But when you move out, they WILL charge you a cleaning fee regardless of how clean it is. Forget about the deposit when you pay it, there's probably a 10% chance you're getting that back.The furniture looks nice and modern, but is very cheap. We bought hand towel racks that hung to a fake drawer - within a few months the strain on the drawer (from the hand towel) was too much and it broke. This happened to two different fake drawers. The floors are also very poor quality, we lived there for one year and after moving out they said that there were small scratches in the floor (by small I mean you needed a magnifying glass to see them) so they had to remove the WHOLE panel up to the wall. Replacing the floor cost around $600 dollars after we moved out, and the worst part is that they only tell you after they've done it so you don't have any choice. It would make more sense to buy flooring that could stand more than one year of use, but then how would you fleece your renters? They seem to have a bad habit of doing things without giving you the option to remediate the issue some other way. They just "fix" the problem and stick you with the bill. In one instance I was told I had some time to move some furniture out of the room, so I had to ask friends to move the furniture since I was out of town. When my friend showed up, the furniture had already been moved, and I had no choice but to pay the bill. Don't forget theres a $50-60 fee if you're even a day late on your rent or water. Conveniently, you can set up rent and utility payments automatically, but you can't do that for water or trash. So you have to visit the pay rent website anyway each month, and setting up your rent automatically only makes you more likely to forget to pay your water/trash, and hooray now you're paying $80 for that month's water. On July 31st we found that our keys did not work since we hadn't submitted our renter's insurance so we were locked out of the apartment. Not a big deal, our fault for not submitting it right? So we went downstairs to prove we had renter's insurance but since it was after hours they wouldn't take it. The only thing we could do was pay $80 to be allowed back into our room until the next day when they would take our insurance. Oh and that $80 has to be in cash. If you're moving to a different room, keeping your furniture in your old place until you can move into the new place is a fee. Want a subleaser? There's another fee. Everything you can think of has a hidden fee attached. Don't bother getting a balcony since you have to pay extra and it's literally just a slightly bigger window with a railing. Also there is a grill, but it's in the alleyway next to the dumpster. Not in the courtyard where you might expect. Kind of silly. If you have a lot of money and prefer everything to be done for you and you just pay the bill, this place is for you. I know it's west campus so a lot of apartment management nickel and dimes their students like this but I couldn't stand paying them another year's rent so I moved out. read more

I have been living here for over 5 months. Maintenance is great! Always friendly, on top of it and prompt. Leasing agents however, are the worst. It took MONTHS of back and forth for me to sign my lease and get everything I needed to move in. It is obvious there is no communication between agents and a very high turn over rate. The phone number for the office rings and is never answered. Voicemails are never replied to. Usually, your call will be transferred to a third party answering company. NEVER have I ever received a call back! In addition to this, 9 out of 10 times the office is CLOSED during their scheduled business hours. Good luck getting any of your packages with out 3-4 days of running down to the office during their posted hours only to find the doors are locked. Everyone in the office has always been rude, disrespectful and have no idea how to help you with any of your concerns. The only reason I am living here is for the proximity to UT.
