Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. It was listed as top 10 of the best restaurants in Boca Raton for August 2019. The food and the reviews looked great so I made a reservation and we make the 1 hour hike from Miami to get here. We were meeting a friend from West Palm Beach so Boca Raton was a good meeting spot for both of us. The restaurant is tucked away so it was difficult to see from the parking lot. Just valet and have the valet point you in the right direction. There were 4 of us so we sat outside. It was pleasant (not hot) because it was raining and they had fans. Service was good but not exceptional. The restaurant reminds me of a little neighborhood restaurant that you would go to regularly because the food is good and the staff is friendly. To start, the waiter brings you a taste and of orzo on a spoon. It was almost worth not mentioning. It was a bit bland but it was a nice gesture. The bread and the whipped butter were a highlight!! I wish that they gave us more bread so that I could eat more butter!! It was soo good! We ordered 4 appetizers: 2 duck duck tacos (excellent!) Roasted brussels sprouts/avocado steamed dumplings Smoked seafoid causa The appetizers are small so you should definitely order your own and not plan on sharing. The duck duck tacos are a must try! They bring you a small sorbet to cleanse your pallete between courses. It was made of ginger, butternut squash, peaches and limes. It was yummy!! Entrees: Twenty twenty pasta (looked fantastic!) Vietnamese Chilean sea bass with black risotto (excellent!) Lamb chops Grilled veal chop porterhouse au povire The lamb chops and the veal chop were equally delicious but the sea bass was the star! The Twenty Twenty pasta looked like angel hair pasta but it was actually rice noodles in a mild curry sauce. Desserts: Caramel cappuccino creme brulee Salted caramel meringue Twenty twenty profiteroles All the desserts were wonderful and we each had our favorites so I would recommend getting all three. These are big enough to be shared with another person. We also had coffee and tea. There was a $14 charge for a non-alcoholic beverage. We all had water but our friend got to the restaurant before us and may have ordered sparkling water. Overall the food and the service were good and we all enjoyed our dinner. I would come back to try the tasting menu, which they only have during the week. I left satisfied but not full, which was fine. read more

We tried this place last night for dinner. You have to valet your car most likely because there's not a lot of parking nearby and if there is, it's full mostly. We sat outside because the weather was pleasant. They have a nice selection of wines to pick from and we wanted Caymus but they only had it in a liter bottle, so we tried Cade instead. It was a good wine and went well with our food. They start you off with assorted bread and we ordered some appetizers. I was looking forward to my NY strip steak but it was a disappointment. This is the only kind of steak they had. I wanted a filet but they don't offer it. Their menu for main entrees was quite limited too and we were told it changes periodically. They had duck, this steak, lamb chops, chicken, pasta and I forget something else. But they only had one dish of each so for example, no variety in steaks or chicken, etc. I didn't like the steak because it was too salty and lacked any other flavor. I didn't feel like sending it back and waiting for something else. So I basically left most of it and didn't eat much. As for the lamb chops, those were very tasty and cooked to perfection. Their dessert was good. Overall I'm not thrilled about coming back to this restaurant and if I do then I'd stick to lamb chops in the future. Such a lovely experience. The food was wonderful and the service is impeccable. It's fancy, yet not. Sat on the patio in my yoga pants and flip flops and felt comfortable. Went there solo after getting a pedi/mani around the corner and they waited on me hand foot, no punt intended. Yes, it's pricey, but I don't mind paying with their quality of food and service..... however - with a designers eye, they could work on the decor. Very dated. read more

We dined outside on a Saturday night in November. We had great service from our server and the owners. It is run by a husband and wife. They bring warm sliced bread with the homemade butter of the day. The chef is now selling the butters to take home. The highlights of our meal was the homemade gnocchi, chicken, and the bread pudding. The gnocchi was super fresh and like soft pillows. They were lightly sautéed to give them a slight crisp to the edge. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The bread pudding was a hit with the warm toffee sauce. It is a small portion and could be eaten by one person, but I did share. The hot lava cake is super chocolatey. We could hear the live music from Funky Biscuit, which was nice. The inside is very small. There is one restroom. They change the menu every 8-10 weeks, but popular items stay on the menu. read more

After reading the good reviews and seeing posted photos we were anxious to come for dinner. Our choice of food (from their menu) was difficult to make bc nothing appeared to be savoring simply by the description. I couldn't decide what to order at first and the waiter suggested the Duck Duck Taco, that had to be a joke. I kept looking at it and couldn't indulge. The silver oak brined New Zealand lamb rack, consisted of a grisly chop of which, my husband didn't even finish. Our experience was..a total disappointment. Where's the food? It could have been a millennia ideology of futuristic dying?! I'm sorry for all the chef's effort and the two waiters for all their efforts. Two stars for their effort. We had been to this restaurant before and have enjoyed it. I developed a gluten allergy but not to soy sauce, basically flour. We were about to order $143 bottle of wine for 4 of us. I wanted to speak to the chef about any kind of modification because of my allergy. The server firmly said no subs. So I asked if I could speak to the chef to ask why certain things were not gluten free and he absolutely refused to come and talk to us. First time there. We live in Cooper City. We were tired of all the restaurants around our area. We decided to venture North of Fort Lauderdale. Great food..... gourmet. My husband had the Red snapper and I had the chicken both were delish. The staff was great and even the chef came around to the tables to see how our meal was. I gave it a five because of food and service that is what matters to us. As far as ambiance, if you are looking for a fancy night out it's not the place. We dined here for our 5th year anniversary dinner last night. This place is such a cute and hidden gem! Very intimate restaurant. A couple next to us even got engaged while we were there! We started our night with the organic bottle of Chardonnay by Olema. Very smooth wine to drink. We ordered the Free range organic chicken for our entree & ordered the Pinot noir. It's big enough to split, if you order 2-3 apps with it. The frank and beans appetizer is to die for and the duck taco taco and grilled octopus were also amazing. Shout out to our server Richard! I have only positive things to say about this gem of a restaurant in the heart of Boca. Tucked away on one of the side-rows in the pink plaza, you will see an unassuming awning with a lively crowd. Make reservations as soon as possible because there are not very many tables. It's a bit of a myth origin-story kind of thing but it is said that there are twenty seats inside and twenty seats outside. Regardless, it is intimate, friendly and an easy place to feel relaxed with friends. This is not the high-energy vibe of the nearby steak houses or Funky Biscuit. This has the feel of a small crew of restaurateurs who really enjoy being there. Tyrone, our server, summed it up when he said "I just want people to feel better when they leave than when they came." I had rack of lamb with exquisitely seasoned gnocchi. We had an endive and brussel sprouts Caesar. My dining companion had the pork belly. They have an ample wine list and a terrific dessert menu. We were treated to the sorbet experience which adds some fun to the evening. Overall delicious meal. Very reasonably priced. I shall return! I was so impressed by this place! Not only is the food incredible, but the staff is equally as amazing. Our server took time to explain the menu and it was very clear how passionate he was about the food. Everything is made in house and the menu changes often- so we will be back to try other things. We had the bok choy Caesar, the Jamaican pork belly, the octopus, the sea bass, and the profiteroles. Everything was so so good. Dining here is an experience- the chef comes around with different tasting items to try. One of the tastings was a smoked salmon, crème fresh, and caviar bite. The other was an ice cream. When he brought the ice cream he told us it had 4 components, and asked us to guess what they were. It was honeydew, broccoli, mint, and orange. Little did I know that I was speaking wc the owner and she understood the importance of this dinner. We show up and EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was over the top exceptional. I was visiting Boca for the weekend and we came here for my best friends birthday. We started with appetizers; the octopus, anti pasta, duck duck taco and crispy pork belly. All of them tasted phenomenal. When it came to main entrees, I am not the biggest fan of rack of lamb but was told this is their specialty so I tried it. I was not disappointed and have been turned into a fan! There were 5 of us here and even another in our party got the lamb also. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the atmosphere. We've been going to the music club (Funky Biscuit) next door for many years and took note when TwentyTwenty first opened about 7 years ago. When walking by, I would often ask patrons how they liked their meal. I always got an enthusiastic thumbs up and other great compliments. Yet, somehow the years went by and we never made the effort to give them a shot. Well, this week my lovely Nita decided to take us there for my birthday. It was a real treat and we won't wait long before our next visit. We had a 6:45p reservation outside and were promptly seated. Started off with the Peruvian Seafood Chowder ($12, see photo) with many layers of flavors and an amazing broth told us we were in for a great meal ahead. Nita had the Mojo Yellow-tail Snapper ($39, see photo) which was very delicate and flaky. It was complimented with spinach/shiitake croquettes, a small lobster tail and crispy onions. I enjoyed my Moroccan Duck Breast ($40, see photo) with lamb Merguez, quad-color currant cous cous and ginger tomato green beans. As a chef myself, I tend to overcook duck in an attempt to get the skin very crispy which often results in dry stringy meat, but Chef Ron focus's on the breast as a whole and delivered the breast that was cooked medium rare and was fork tender and incredibly juicy. Chef brought us some intermezzos...the first one looked exactly like a tiny sushi roll (see photo) but was not. Unfortunately I wasn't paying attention when he described what it was, but I do recall him saying something about chocolate mole. (maybe Chef Ron or Rhonda can help resolve this mystery). Then he brought out small scoops of what looked like raspberry sorbet. After setting them on the table, he stood by and asked us to guess what is was. He was grinning from ear to ear waiting for our response...this is a Chef who is truly inspired by his customers reactions and delights in creating something unique as we try to wrap our heads around what we're eating. The "sorbet" looked sweet and fruity, but is was actually more savory. I tried my best to guess but was fooled by what I was seeing vs what I was tasting. Nita said watermelon....Correct! he said. I guessed upon some sort of root vegetable...Very good! Chef exclaimed. He described this palate cleanser as watermelon, beets, mustard and thyme. We were pleasantly fooled and it worked well to reset out taste buds for was was to come. Wife Rhonda and her staff were very attentive and helped steer us towards plates they thought we would enjoy based upon our menu questions. Our very nice waitperson (I'm so sorry I didn't get her name) somehow picked up that we were celebrating an occasion and asked us flat out, "Are you celebrating a birthday or something?" My Nita said "yes but he doesn't like that kind of attention"....LOL A couple of minutes later she brought out a small birthday treat for us and said, "Don't worry, we're not going to sing or make a big deal...just enjoy" The plate had fresh berries and a sweet almond brittle(?) We really enjoyed our experience and look forward to returning soon.....no special occasion necessary. I'm looking forward to trying the pork belly sloppy joe (one of the staff claimed it to be his absolute favorite), the brined New Zealand lamb (it looks amazing), the mole spiced skirt steak, etc, etc. Thank you Chef Ron, Rhonda and Staff for a delightful experience. read more

Feb 2023, came here after seeing the TV program called Check Please that reviews restaurants in South Florida. We celebrated a special occasion and decided to come here since the food looked so fabulous. I must say the food and service was fabulous, and not cheap, our meals, drinks with tip were over 200 dollars and well worth it. We sat outside and good thing we did because inside had only a few tables. There were plenty of tables with umbrellas outside, and I would not come here without a reservation. We started with the Duck Taco, then the Main dishes we had the Peking Spiced Duck Breast (cooked to perfection) and the Grilled Diver Scallops, everything was DELICIOUS. All and all this is a wonderful restaurant to come to for any occasion. read more

We came here for our anniversary dinner tonight (thank you Britt Z for the recommendation!). We'd let them know that we were celebrating when we made the reservation and they did not disappoint. We were greeted by the owner and several servers wishes us happy anniversary! We opted to sit inside as when we got there for our seven o'clock reservation, it was still 80 plus degrees and humid. You can tell who the tourists are... in shorts and sitting outside. The place is not the easiest to find -- it is in between the rows of stores in the palm plaza and doesn't front Via Najarnja or the main drag as its address would suggest. Park by the entrance to Swimland. Then find one of the many maps of the complex on a post and you'll follow it to walk to find the restaurant. The menu changes seasonally but a few items are still there. The menu will change in January again we were told. After ordering, we were given bread with a special butter. The butter changes each night. We were told we had peppermint butter but the people behind us were told they had cranberry butter (by a different waiter). Whatever it was..was still good. We got an amuse bouche to start -- Hearts of palm and baby spinach in a guava vinaigrette. It was tiny on a small spoon. So I had only tasted the palm part... but we weren't complaining. To start my husband had the fois gras app. He said it was very good. I had the seared diver scallop. The scallop was quite large and came topped with shrimp. It was very good too -- but I should have told them I don't eat rare/raw as it was seared lightly on the outside and uncooked inside. This made it very tender however. I ate the outside part (the seared part) and gave my husband the rest of the scallop. As a palate cleanser we were given baby spoons to eat the flavored sorbet. Again they change this item daily. They told us there were 4 parts and we tried to guess what was in it. We were way off (papaya? Banana? Lychees?) Nope! It had butternut squash, apple, cranberry, and basil! For main entree, my husband got the lamb chops. A huge portion of rack of lamb cut in three sections and each section had 3 baby chops. They were perfectly done and made a gorgeous presentation. I had the duck breast which was served over sweet potato fois gras ravioli on a bed of braised red cabbage. The breast is usually served rare but they were nice enough to cook it a tad more for me (I don't like bloody meat). It was still quite tender and I ate every crumb. Dessert choices didn't appeal so we passed on dessert. They brought us a plate with a lit candle on it. On the plate was written "Happy Anniversary" in chocolate. To celebrate our 27th Anniversay, my wife choose Twenty Twenty at the recommendation of a fella Yelper! I enjoyed my Foie Gras appetizer followed by French Style Rack of Lamb served at the perfect temperature. So much lamb I had to take 3 ribs home! We have been raving about Twenty Twenty Grille since they first opened. For superb American fusion fine dining, Twenty Twenty is the single outstanding restaurant in South Florida. Owners Chef Ron and his wife Rhonda (running the floor) offer peerless cuisine and service. Chef Ron carefully constructs seasonal menus from what is available and appropriate for each season, locally sourced if at all possible. Each dish is artfully presented and cooked to perfection. Chef Ron will customize recipes for people with special dietary needs. Over the years, we have tried virtually every dish o every menu - all exceptional. Among the starters, our favorites are "duck duck taco" and seafood sausage. Among the mains, we dream about the rack of lamb, the crab cakes, the duck, and recently the ribeye. At least one fresh fish is on every seasonal menu, and usually a vegetarian choice as well. For dessert, although we have tried everything, we keep coming back for the profiteroles. In addition to the various courses on the menu, every Twenty Twenty meal includes complementary home baked bread and artisan butter, an amuse bouche which Chef Ron concocts daily, a secret recipe palette cleanser sorbet, and macadamia brittle with dessert. On many occasions, Twenty Twenty offers tasting menus of virtually everything on the menu. Wine pairings are available with these tasting menus. The wine list is ample, and offers many wines by the glass. On our most recent visit, Matteo was our server, as he has been many times before. A superb waiter, he is invariably helpful in making selections from the menu. His good humor and sweetness enhance the meal. During this awful pandemic, Twenty Twenty Grille has done an extraordinary job arranging socially distanced tables with fans or heaters as needed. No other restaurant in South Florida has so masterfully handled the pandemic and the need to social distance. Bravo Twenty Twenty! Dining doesn't get any better any place in the world. First time there, we had dinner with another couple who raved about this restaurant. We thought it was OK. The food and service was certainly the reflection of the Chef and owner and his wife. It was interesting and very nice. I found the food combinations and creations a little too precious and pretentious and bland for my taste. The waitstaff - we were served by Richard - was well trained, professional, attentive. Not harried. Decor - we sat outside under covered patio with overhead fans - was nicely designed, tables a discrete distance from one another. Interesting purple linen napkins, nice china and flat wear. There is inside seating, more limited than outside tables. Note your preference when making a reservation. Wine list impressive and not inexpensive but some good wines in the $40-50 range. Had the Malbec Golden Reserve and it was very good. Note, this is not a huge menu, and one should be prepared for more of a "fine dining" plating of the food than the many "comfort foods" sized plating being offered elsewhere. SEE PICS OF ALL FOODS The duck taco and pork belly apps were very tasty. The rack of lamb was well prepared and juicy. The yardbird (chicken) was a small breast with a drum stick. You'll likely need to order an appetizer as well as entree to feel satisfied, and eat some of the warm fresh bread as well. And don't pass on the desserts. The warm chocolate molten cake was great. Two appetizers, three entrees, a bottle of wine at $45, 2 bottled waters and 2 desserts was $190 without tip. So this is a great place for date night, or if that is within your budget go and enjoy. It's a nice change from the chain type restaurants and all of the comfort food "stuff your face" type places which are opening up around a East Boca. A very unusual place. I'm doing this review differently than others, starting with cons. Cons: It was very difficult just finding this place. Google maps got me most of the way, then was bringing me .1 miles away. We ended up parking on a nearby street, walking around the complex endlessly, then having to ask different locals how to walk to this location. So close, but so far away. The parking lot seemed to be all valet. Not sure if the cost. The ambiance of twentytwenty was negligible. Romantic it was not. We sat outside (inside was tiny and smelled strange) and had a view of an insurance agency, a barbershop , and a bunch of propane tanks. Pros: the service was excellent, which is very important to us. Besides what we ordered, there were tiny tastings offered by the chef. The foods were unlike anything we'd ever had before. The Jamaican clam chowder ($12) was delicious as was the Fois Gras ($25) app. There were quite a few entrees that looked good such as the grouper. The rack of lamb looked so tempting. We got the chicken ($28) and wild boar ($47). They were beyond fantastic! We had wine - I believe they only serve beer and wine. read more

This is one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at. The service is outstanding. Waiters knew the menu--the chef came out several times to check on us and explain the ingredients. The only way to describe the food is exquisite--from the amuse Bouche (a free pre-appetizer of roasted goat cheese) to dessert, everything was perfect. I can't go to South Florida and not eat at it's incredible restaurant, Twenty-Twenty Grille. I understand it was recently named one of the 100 best restaurants in America. No wonder! Had an absolutely lovely time at dinner last night. The location is boutique in an otherwise uppity area. The servers are so detail oriented and kind and knowledgeable. The head chef visits every table. Both owners were there. It was very busy and at the same time I felt like we were the VIP. I had the wild boar and it was phenomenal. My wife had the lamb which was also great. You have to get the duck duck taco. I'd say the octopus appetizer was really good but I was hoping it would be more octopus taste and texture than I got, but that dish was a 9 out of 10 and everything else was a 10/10. Liked the food & the service was excellent. The food was as a 5 except for 1 dish that was a 4. We will defined return.

I haven't written a review in a while. The experience at this restaurant was such that it brought me out of review retirement. Let me start with the only positives, both Rhonda and Ron seem like very nice people. We went with a group of 8 people, and afterwards we had to stop to get food, if that is any sign of how the evening went. The first waiter recited the entire menu to us in about a 10 minute diatribe before he took our drink order. The octopus appetizer came out barely lukewarm, and when I asked if it was supposed to be hot, the waiter apologized, took it back, and then brought back what was left on the plate reheated. I sent that back. When the food came out, none of it was hot, two of the people ordered the prawns and they were not cooked through. My mahi-mahi was not hot and the flavors were bland, even if you take into consideration the Thai curry that it was served with. Even stepping back, and not considering that the food was not very good, it was so over priced that I was actually a bit amusing, and that would have been if it was good food. Again, nice people.
