I asked for some direction on where to eat in town and I was directed here. I'm not sure how it's anybody's favorite place to eat as the service was pretty lame and the food wasn't all that great for the price. The restaurant has a nice layout and looks pleasant, but I wish the food matched the environment. I clearly had a bad waiter, and this is a sample of one, but this was a rough first impression. The asparagus looked (and tasted) odd and the steak was chewy and for the first half of it, very tough to cut as my waiter forgot to bring me a steak knife and didn't make rounds til I was almost done hacking away at it with a butter knife. Either way, I don't see myself wandering back here, unless it's a Sunday, or Monday evening when everything else in town seems to be closed. read more

A great restaurant that is worth the drive. Be sure to call in advance though and make a reservation. It gets quite busy most nights of the week. The great food makes up for the wait time though. Sorry to be a hater but the food here is lousy. When the waitress tells you to be careful because the plate is really hot when you ordered a turkey sandwich you know it was heated in a microwave. Tasted like a microwaved sandwich, too. Awful. The "chicken breast" on another sandwich we ordered was one of those rubbery fake shaped chicken breast with phony grill marks on it. Also heated in a microwave along with the other toppings. Nasty. The servers were fine. Not their fault. But the food here is terrible. I've had far better meals on an airplane. Sorry Twigs. I've had lunch here a bunch of times when I am passing through Tunkhannock. The sandwiches are great. I was also there for a special martini night. That was a special night. They created some amazing new martinis that left us speechless. They had different small plates that went with each martini. They were all great. Pretty nice place, cozy and quaint. Food and service are inconsistent. Many years ago I had a delicious sandwich and a lime milkshake from this place, and the only reason I had not returned sooner is that Twigs isn't exactly in my neighborhood. Our particular server was great - but we witnessed atrocious service at all three tables around us on the "upper level." Like, really bad. One table was full of dishes waiting to be cleared from the time we were seated until we left. Another table got their check, paid it, and were presented with the same check again a while later. The other table had menu questions and none of them could be answered. (This was all with regard to the same server, thankfully ours was cordial and well-informed). The food.. well.. it was OK. The burger we chose was large in size but average in flavor. Pasta dishes are offered with standard or wheat pasta. I believe my dish was a special that evening, but I chose wheat pasta and it turned out to be a bad idea... the flavor dominated the dish, and the pasta itself was overcooked. I'd return to Twigs, but wouldn't make a special trip just to eat there. read more

We really liked this place. The food is very good. The staff was friendly and gracious. They tailored my salad to my request and the chicken on it was exceptionally good. My husband's steak was cooked as he asked and was also very good. We like it so much that we had lunch there the next day. The bar in the back was fun, too. We went there after dinner because they offered us tastings of Nimble Hill beer. Great selections. My husband's favorite was the IPA. It was interesting because Nimble Hill Brewing Company is NEPA's first farm to tap, craft brewery. We are from Boston and like to check out craft breweries in our travels. read more

Jerry and his staff catered our wedding September 2018. Him and his staff were absolutely amazing. The food was phenomenal, from the cocktail hour to the dinner entrees. The mac and cheese bites and salmon were a big hit We have zero complaints on the service provided throughput the night. I highly recommend using him for your next catering event. What a wonderful lunch we had! We went with a party of 8, including a baby, and we were accommodated comfortably. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer. This was good but not my favorite. It was lightly breaded which was nice, but I just prefer more of a crisp. I also like to see a red pepper aoli on the plate where this is served with Fra diavlo sauce. Still good for the heat aspect. My husband and I split the Crab Cake Sandwich and the Prime Rib Sandwich, (our own version of surf and turf)! Both sandwiches were so yummy. I chose the crab bisque as my side. I thought the portion was huge for a cup. My husband chose the fries for his side which were seasoned perfectly and required no other fixings. Price was spot on too. I just had such an amazing meal here. I ordered the special chicken dish. It was served with a sun dried tomato cream sauce with spinach and the most delicious mashed potatoes. I paired it with a glass of house Cabernet which was poured generously. The ambiance was perfect too. I felt like I was at a friends house eating a home cooked meal...Dark with books along the walls and eclectic art. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Very disappointed with my last visit to Twigs. This used to be my favorite restaurant but I'm not sure I will be back. I loved their French Onion soup however when I got it, it was luke warm and was not broiled. The waitress took a long time to take our order and then forgot to bring us our drinks. Then I asked for ketchup and after 10 minutes the waitress came back to ask if we needed anything and I told her I needed ketchup again. Had an 18 oz Steak and OMG!! Let me tell you this thing was HUGE!!!! And I fell in love with the seasoning they had they grill onions and some other stuff, and it was caramelized I believe but omg the flavor was out of this world!!! I'm visiting from California for a business trip and one of the workers here recommended us to come here so we did. Our waiter took a while to attend us and after getting our drinks it took a while too. The place was full and busy. Very loud too. But the food made up for everything! read more

This has been my favorite restaurant for the last 6.5 years. In the earlier years when I would go--the Caesar salad was better, but everything else has stayed the same. I love the Maine scampi and the crab bisque for dinner. The salmon salad is a great choice for lunch. Don't forget a blonde for dessert! Victoria is the best waitress they have and she makes a mean Raspberry Long Island. I relocated to the West Coast about a year and a half ago--I always make the 50 min (!) drive from where my parents live when I'm here to visit. They have some nice vegetarian selections which I appreciate. The atmosphere is beautiful and on the right day of the week, there are plenty of little shops and antiquing in the area within walking distance. I've found that must of these places are closed on Sundays which I find odd. Twigs is maybe a teensy bit expensive for the area but a great place to celebrate a special occasion. read more

So disappointed. In Tunkhannock for the first time. Came into Twigs and while we didn't know reservations should have been made. We said table for two and got taken to the back to a table in the hallway by the kitchen and below the stairs to the empty pub. We asked for a different table and were told you had to have reservations. We asked if there was anywhere else we can sit and she kindly says the pub, where there is nobody, including a bartender or patrons. As the manager sits at a nice high top in the restaurant that we would have been happy to sit at. Sorry but we are out of here. Victoria was very nice though. And the 3$ beer was a good deal as well. Went and got their take out for Philly Cheesesteak served with a burger bun. It was very good, and a bit greasy, which is also, what you would expect from a typical good one. They had onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms on it. It was served with kettle chips, which was more or less, pretty good as well. Overall, very good and tasty, and not expensive at all. read more

I love the decor at Twigs - super artsy and cozy. But that's about the best thing I can say. The food has always been average, but it's the staff that prevents me from going back. They're not only super slow, but also generally unfriendly (and apologetic for their slow service). Last time I had to wait an hour to get my drink glass filled, and that was after I flagged down a server to ask for more iced tea. It's not a bad place to go if you have a few hours to spend and want an OK sandwich, but if you want fast service and a fabulous dinner, I'd suggest one of the other restaurants in Tunkhannock (Seasons or Remingtons). Also, not the restaurant's fault, but it's located at a rather dangerous intersection in town. So if you're walking, be careful when going across the crosswalk at that corner. read more

Whenever I'm in Tunkhannock, we always stop here for lunch. The food is good and the service is on point. Most of their lunch menu consists of sandwiches but they also have a variety of dinner entrees. I've always opted for the sandwiches, wraps, or burgers because they never fail to satisfy. I routinely visit Twigs when I return to my hometown, Tunkhannock. It's a great spot with a unique decor and inviting atmosphere. The menu is always a little different than the last time, but with a similar variety of options. Somethings healthy, somethings rich, somethings fancy. It always seems busy, even for an early weekday night, but remains properly staffed to keep up with the needs of the customers. All around good establishment. I wonder what happened to those poor folk giving 1,2, or 3 stars. It's a four star establishment hands down. read more

A friend and I had lunch today at Twigs and it was awful. I ordered a burger and it was horrible. The meat was what I call "skankie". It tasted like old strong meat. The waitress never came to see if everything was alright until we were finished eating. I only ate 1/4 of my $11.00 burger and told the waitress it didn't taste right . $ 32.00 for a cup of soup 6 boneless wings, 2 ice teas and a quarter of a skankie burger. You can taste the freshness in the food. I travel the world and I'm quite amazed at the quality of service, freshness, and taste this unique restaurant provides. What a wonderful treasure for patrons in Tunkhannock. I arrived for a week long business trip and dined at Twigs several times. I had an excellent steak one night, fresh well seasoned vegetables another night, and s well mixed dirty martini and Bloody Mary another night. Good job Twigs! I tip my hat to you. Keep it up. This has been THE 'go-to' restaurant in Tunkhannock for some years now for our family. Many of us are New Yorkers and have lots of restaurants to choose from there. Not so much to choose from in NEPA, but Twigs ranks up there with a lot of NYC restaurants. Especially terrific are dishes like 'Choc-a-Block', 'Twig's Sautee' and the wonderful 'Boulder Crab Cake sandwich.' Some of us are vegetarians, and twigs has some great choices for them as well. The drinks are very good and reasonably priced. Enjoy the decor, borrow a book from the bookshelf, and enjoy a great meal at 'Twigs'! read more

Well-appointed restaurant with some very nice window seating in the front and outdoor tables on the side. Usually friendly service, with a nice menu and wine/liquor selection. One of three very nice restaurants on the main drag (Tioga Street - Business Rt 6) in lovely Tunkhannock, PA (Seasons and Remington's being the other two). Can get very busy - especially on weekend nights or during special events in town. The service can be inconsistent (one day, you are blown away by the efficient, friendly service while another day you may wonder if it is self-service) and the food can be inconsistent as well. But, when it is good, it is very good. If they could be consistent, I would certainly not hesitate to give it a 4. If you haven't been here before, you will enjoy the menu. (I have dined here at least twenty times - I wouldn't mind seeing an update). Specials change regularly and are often creative. Appetizer selection is poor, but the entrees are served with nice salads and a veg. Enjoy a movie at the Dietrich Theater or some window shopping at the great shops in town and then have a nice dinner or lunch. read more

I just moved to Tunk and my office is right down the street from Twigs, so I have been there a few times. For a place to eat in a county with less than 2,000 inhabitants, Twigs is awesome. On a wider scale, pretty good. I am a lifelong vegetarian, and for rural US, Twigs was very accomodating. I had egglant rolatini the first time, and the pasta with scampi sauce (no shrimp, all veggies, still trying to figure this one out) the second time. The eggplant dish was pretty decent, enough that I was disappointed with the portion size. I think it is an appetizer so that may be why. I opted for the whole wheat pasta w/ scampi sauce. The pasta was OK, but far from perfect, and the sauce was overcooked as were all the veggies. All in all it could have been a lot better, but was still above average. Not that the sauce tastes bad, it just makes up for soggie veggies. I have had colleagues along and they all seem to like the food at Twigs. In summary, a very decent and pleasant place to eat in a very rural area of NEPA. I'll certainly head back again soon. read more

Great food, but seems a bit pricey. My husband and I can never seem to go out to dinner there without walking out with a $50+ bill (even without getting cocktails or beer). Also, this isn't a quick in and out place. We have missed many movie times because dinner took so long. Good if you want a relaxing evening, though. read more

We had our rehearsal dinner at Twigs. We had the second floor all to ourselves. It's great for private parties! There's a full bar and plenty of room for a buffet and tables. We ended up with about 40 people at our dinner, and we had plenty of room. Our favorites were the appetizer platters, homemade potato chips and the blondies for dessert. read more

Make no mistake about it, I am a fan! However, at the beginning of January I placed an order for pickup, all salads, and I can't lie it was disappointing. My friend and I both order the goat cheese/veggie salad. She had it with chicken and I had it with "sushi grade" tuna. Mine as definitely not sushi grade, very little goat cheese and mushy vegetables. I think they should be crunchy! My friend's chicken was okay but the same for the cheese and the veggies. My other friend had the 310 salad and thought it was just okay and this is a salad she orders a lot! Also ordered the calamari which was not crispy but very soggy! So, I will definitely stick with Twigs since it is one of the best in the area but this was a definite miss for me. Having spend almost $90 means you should get quality food!
