But when I started seeing Dr. Horn, I never once felt that way. From the beginning, she made me feel supported and understood. She's been willing to work with me every step of the way and thoughtfully curated a treatment plan, that didn't include veneers! During my initial consult, we reviewed the photos they took of my teeth, and she had me point out which specific teeth I wanted her to focus on. She made it clear that I didn't have to commit to anything beyond what I was comfortable with, whether that was personally or financially, and that the plan could be tailored to my priorities. For my actual appointment, they offered me luxurious amenities from an entire menu! l got the heated neck pillow and headphones with cable TV, and they even surprised me with a smoothie afterwards! Dr. Horn also made sure to prep my lips with lip balm before starting anything, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel comfortable and genuinely caring. The results from my first appointment have been incredible and far exceeded any expectations I had. I remember saying during my initial consult that I just hoped to lessen some of the staining as much as possible, but it truly feels like it's almost entirely gone. I feel so happy and giddy when I look in the mirror now. I truly cannot recommend Dr. Horn and her team enough. Not only did they completely transform my smile, but they also transformed the way I feel about myself. Not my actual dentist (pause, check name)…read more I am so in love with my Dental Center. 1) They have chocolate chip cookies and a fully stocked Keurig in the entry way 2) They offer paraffin wax hand treatments while you're getting your teeth taken care of 3) They offer nitrous oxide for your 4-year-old who refuses to get his teeth X-Rayed (those plastic X-Ray things do hurt) 4) They told me I have excellent teeth 5) I am in and out within 30 minutes I am so approving of dentists becoming competitive - you can tell this clinic is trying to keep its customers happy. I'm happy (but it could be the nitrous). I should also say that they have really great scheduling - I can usually get in within a week (if I'm flexible, or sometimes not), and they got my mom in when she had a broken tooth within a day (even though she hadn't previously been seen by their dentists).

I had several appointments canceled due to his illness, which as a nurse, I understood. Today, I came back after having had a full set of xrays. I have been traumatized by an oral surgeon for my youngest son, and inappropriately touched sexually by another dentist years later. I've been working with my therapist to overcome my PTSD dental trauma. Today, before my appointment, I used guided imagery, EMDR, positive talk, and requested I be told everything before he did it. Despite all that, I was still very anxious & shed a few tears when in the chair to which he replied he could not work on me & perhaps I needed meds, and reschedule my appointment. I told him to go ahead & I was able to relax & calm myself down, which I suspect was due to the sunglasses I was given so I could close my eyes while he worked. The staff at Northpointe is amazing but I feel that Dr Craig needs to be a lot more understanding especially with traumatized dental patients like myself. Right after he completed his exam & filling of my 2 chipped teeth, he left barely saying anything to me. I felt his behavior bordered on rudeness & that he truly doesn't have comprehension or 100% compassion between a regular anxious patient which comprises most dental patients & traumatized dental patients like myself. The dental tech was very compassionate & calming. I return next Monday for part 2 of filling cracked teeth before having a fitting for a sleep appliance for my mild sleep apnea. I scheduled what I expected to be a routine dental cleaning, but the experience ended up being…read moreconfusing and frustrating. I spent about an hour at the appointment and ultimately left without receiving any cleaning at all. After the initial exam, I was told I would need a deep cleaning instead of a standard cleaning, and that I needed to schedule a different day. When I asked if I could just proceed with a basic cleaning as I had waited a few weeks for this appointment, I was told they could do one if I "signed a waiver", after agreeing to this she changed her mind and said she "ethically" couldn't do a basic cleaning on me. To give more context, I am in early stages of perio as most people are when they age. I have no bone loss, and the majority of my "pockets" are in the 2s and 3s with some molars in the 4s and 5s. I am not categorized as someone that desperately needs dental work by far. I've had four cavities my entire life, and was told I had none at this appointment as well. I can't help but think this was somehow a money grab. The staff member was polite and professional throughout, but to be told that without agreeing to a much more expensive treatment, I wouldn't receive any cleaning at all was so strange. I wound up later being quoted about $1500 for the cleaning she said I needed. I understand wanting to provide appropriate care, but I would have appreciated clearer communication ahead of time and more flexibility in options as not everyone has dental insurance or $1500 laying around for basic dental care. I also want to mention that I was surprised to learn this clinic is part of a larger corporate group. It presents itself like a local, standalone practice, so I didn't realize the connection until the day before my appointment when they called to say I had been to one of their other locations previously and therefore didn't qualify for the new patient pricing. That part was fine, but it felt misleading since the other clinic has a completely different name and is in another city. I had no idea the two were connected--especially since I hadn't had a great experience at that prior location--so that added to the overall frustration.
