After we walked in one of the waitresses informed us that we can sit wherever we want. I instantly felt like I was inconveniencing her with my presence by the way she said it. Didn't take it personal just yet. What appeared to be the hostess came over a few minutes after we sat down and handed us menus that were very dirty. I looked at my husband and said I am ready to walk out of this place bc I am starving and it looks like they are too short staffed right now which is understandably out of a businesses control sometimes. But wait, instead of the waitress coming to our table to bring water or ask us if we would like a drink, she went to another table with a man and a child that she obviously knew well, and started eating their french fries and talking. That's when we decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. So unprofessional. That couldn't wait? I hate to leave a review like this, but if I was the owner of this business, I would not want someone like that working for me, representing what seems to be a great place.

They have a short tap list on a chalk board over the bar area but a massive bottle and can list. Truly a beer enthusiast paradise. Prices vary but pretty much run $6-$9 per beer. Got the plain glazed and a couple of the cream filled ones and they were still warm, like you could tell they hadn't been sitting around all day the way most places do it. The guy behind the counter (Ago) was super sweet, chatted with us for a minute and recommended some of his favorites. Coffee was solid too, nothing fancy but exactly what you want with a fresh donut. Place itself is small and kinda no frills but that's part of the charm honestly. It's the type of local spot you wish was in your own neighborhood. We ended up going back the next morning before we drove home lol. If your anywhere near Monticello just do yourself a favor and go. You wont regret it.

It seems like you could get almost everything you need right here. They offered sweet morning pastries, there was a selection of cakes and desserts to bring back to our accommodations for later, and they offered a cooked breakfast and lunch (and brunch!) menu. The coffee was great, and we took some beans home. If you live locally, I read that they also offer free used coffee grinds to take home to your garden. My favorite part of the cafe, is that the donut flavors rotate, making things very interesting. I absolutely loved my little lemon poppyseed donut, but when the warm cinnamon sugar ones came right out of the oven, they absolutely stole the show. The burger for lunch was delightful, and the quiche was quite lovely as well. Highly recommend stopping in, no matter the occasion you will leave feeling refreshed with a wonderful bite to eat.
