Berto, Ashley, Jordan, Angela, Jenn r all great counselors/employees @ Twin Town Treatment Center. As i strive 4 sobriety "One Day @ a Time" they have always provided me with the proper encouragement and advise so that i could continue 2 live with a healthy lifestyle. There groups are always beneficial and i always come away breathing and thinking a lot more clearly and I really do love this place, even if it was court/probation ordered. If this place is at all like the sherman oaks location, I would have to say it's one of the best places to go for treatment. Let's face it, they are all kind of the same...kind of. Without going too far into it I will say if you want to read a review check out the sherman oaks location for my honest review. Long story short....43, been an addict since I was 15......weed and drinking....and whatever else came my way. If you are serious and want to get clean, and I mean really have the desire, than this is the place to check out. 6 months not being an alcoholic and 4 months or so without weed. They understood the struggles I was going through. And I was not perfect the first year, but I didn't give up. It's not like AA or any of that garbage. While it might work for some people...it always made me feel discouraged being that I didn't believe everything the big book had to say.... Twin town does things their own way and keeps it simple. So I hope this one is still around. Just don't know why all the negative reviews - as most if not all people in my group seem to be doing better than any time in their lives.. sure there will always be people upset that things didn't go how they wanted with the business side..but if you have that together, Twin town is only here to help us. read more

This review is for Irma Villapando specifically - If you care about the addict in your life please do not send them to see Irma Villapando. I have been sober for years & years at this point in AA and during my 4 rounds of treatment she is the only provider that I ever had a negative experience with. I believe her intentions are good but I do not understand why she believes guilt and shame are effective motivators for change? I internalized her narrative about being "naturally dishonest" a "liar, cheat and thief" and that I will "die of my dishonesty." It's painful. Addicts don't die because they have bad moral character, they die because they are sick. I have personally seen her on multiple occasions humiliate women in front of large groups of patients asking them to get honest and admit to kissing, oral sex or regular sex & even to describe specific sex acts, all in the name of "honesty" meanwhile one of my friends was sobbing hysterically. All of the patients stared in horror & shock. This lasted for an entire 30 minute session while she harassed this poor woman. She was relentless & would not stop. She did it to other women as well, including myself, but we did not break down as badly as my poor friend. It was so bizarre to this day I think about it all the time & I'm so weirded out & confused by it. She even called myself & my parents into a session one day & the same thing! We all thought it was normal because we didn't know any better. I do not believe the treatment center knew this was happening. Please don't let her convince you that she's helping you with "tough love." Or else you will be undoing the damage & internalized negative messaging for years to come with a real therapist. Newly sober people & their families are extremely vulnerable & will accept bad behavior from a counselor like this because they don't know any better! I often wonder how a counselor who is sexually harassing patients in this way is still licensed by any sort of professional licensing board. Please protect yourself & your loved ones. read more

I made an appointment almost three weeks ago for the outpatient program. When I made the appointment I was detoxing at home. I took as many notes as I could but I wasn't all there. Lucas told me to call the day before to confirm. When I called, Lucas was extremely rude and scolding me like a father saying I was supposed to call at 9. I apologize and then he said can you come in at 3 tomorrow, as I was saying yes the connection was bad so I could hear him but he couldn't hear me. Omg... he was saying such rude things thinking I couldn't hear him. I called back and said I could hear you. I said I would be there. But after thinking about it for the night I decided not to go. I don't want to be in a program with people like that. I was going to go to the assessment just to tell him what an a-hold he was but I decided it wasn't worth my time or energy. I would not recommend this place. read more

I was sent home on Friday because I refused to pee test a second time in the same night. My counselor literally called me stupid and said "You have to leave NOW!" So I left without causing further disruption. I arrive tonight to get sent home by the same counselor and when I asked why they didn't call me and tell me to stay home the same counselor (Angela) told me it wasn't her problem. She is claiming I walked out of the class and says she didn't ask me to leave. I have a witness that heard her tell me to leave immediately. If I wasn't strong in my sobriety I may have relapsed over something like this. My housing could be in jeopardy and it is all due to Angela blatantly lying. It is obvious Angela does not really care about her clients. This amazing to me. The fact she would lie through her teeth for some agenda other than treating someone with an addiction is beyond me. read more

This place has the worst customer service. Their program does NOT work. No one answers the phones it constantly goes to voicemail. They do not care about the patient. They are not here to help, they just want to collect the money. They constantly make the group go online, which makes no sense. I would NOT recommend this place at all. read more

I strongly advise anyone considering treatment NOT to go here. I was a client in 2016 and enjoyed the program, primarily due to the staff. I went again in 2018, and the staff had all changed (except Mark), and I felt the program was insufficient, to say the least. Disinterested interns running the groups. It was a joke. I immediately left. After leaving, they tried to bill me for a dollar amount higher than we agreed upon. I refused to pay it, disputed it, and still their finance office called me/harassed me nearly everyday for MONTHS. I finally blocked their number. Then, I got a bill from collections. Twin Town charged me a late fee of over 150% of the fee that I didn't agree to in the first place. It's beyond egregious. Imagine trying to dispute a false bill, getting a letter from collections with a 150% late fee for a fee that you would've paid if they had sent you a bill for the amount agreed upon in the first place, being harassed for months, after leaving a program immediately after you started b/c it was ran by inexperienced interns. You're better off in an AA meeting or basically anywhere besides twin town. read more

My husband has since completed this program it's been a few months. Shortly after leaving this review the owner of Twin Town reached out to me and offered his personal cell # to discuss the incident that happened. After giving him a call, he was very apologetic and let me know they investigated the incident and swift action was taken. THAT'S how you handle business. We re enrolled my husband after that and he said he enjoyed the woman who he was assigned to for his classes. I'm glad that the owner took accountability and looked into the incident that happened instead of just ignoring it. read more

Only care about money. Interviewed me and it was clear that everyone falls into the same category of fully extensive treatment. My insurance paid everything up front, of course, and if i missed a supposedly important class I never heard from them, even though they said they would stay on the patients with a vengeance... But for those w/out insurance who make weekly payments, u can bet ur sweet a$$ they were on them like glorified bill collectors. Yea, as with most things, it's all about money here. If you're reading this you most likely fall into one of three categories. You are the friend of a person who needs help. You're the family member of a loved one who needs help. You are the addict or alcoholic who thinks or knows they need help. I admitted myself to Twin Town in June of 2015 and just finished their out patient program. This took a little longer as I "went out" after eight weeks but returned back thank god. My first impression when I got there was Twin town will now fix me and my and alcohol problem. It's not about that. They will give you all the tools, support and encouragement but it's up to you to use what they teach. Get a sponsor, read (and learn the big book) attend meetings and get involved with the fellowship. The facility and staff are all top notch. I worked closely with Larry O. and Mark R. These two compliment each other very well. Their knowledge and experience of substance abuse treatment is very deep and well rounded. I have met some extraordinary people at this facility that I continue to stay in touch to this day. My life is much better today than ten months ago because of Twin Town. I'm sober. I still have my family, friends and job. I have a closer than ever connection with my higher power. You are in a fight to save your life against this vicious disease. Fight. Mark E. read more

My son was enrolled in the Twin Town program in 2012. He was reluctant at first and had been through MANY treatment programs before, some inpatient, some outpatient. He really connected with a couple of the counselors and this time in treatment it seemed different. He stuck with the program to graduation. Our insurance covered all of the cost! That was such a relief, since we had put out a lot of money on other programs before only to have him relapse. I don't have the answer why this program worked for him, maybe it was a combination of the program and he was just done living that way. He was heavy into all kinds of drugs, in and out of jail and I'm so happy to say that he has been clean and sober for 3 years now! Twin town saved my life. I went in there totally hopeless and did not think anyone or place could help me. All the counselors there truly cared about me and were genuine. They listened to me and I could tell they understood where I came from. The tools I learned were life changing . I have stayed sober and ever grateful to Twin Town. read more
