There were different types of poles, cuz apparently different types of steel and gerth make your performance different. Bought a Groupon for a pole dancing series of classes, I'd always been curious and thought I might as well since it was such a deal. I wasn't sure what to expect, but went with a few girl friends and had a blast! After four classes, I was able to do a few different twirls, "floor work", free spin and climb the pole. It was a killer work out, especially in the calves and quads. Bel definitely made the experience, she was adorable, hilarious, and made all of us feel comfortable and at ease. The ambiance was great - very girly and fun. The darker lighting helped make you feel sexier and more confident. I'd read some Yelp reviews online before my first class and was more or less HORRIFIED to hear that you have to do a routine in front of the class at your last session. But ended up loving the "free dance" portions when we performed for our classmates. It was awesome to see how women of all ages and body types who are just normal girls like anyone else look so good and confident dancing. Also so much fun to see everyone's personal style and moves come through :) The series classes are a bit steep without any discounts, so I don't think I'll make a regular habit of going, but they do offer tons of workshops and one day classes which I will go to in the future - and for a birthday or bachelorette party, or even just something to do with your girl friends it would definitely make for some great memories. I've been at Twirly girls for almost two years now. I've had a positive encouraging experience with every instructor there! I started in Bel's beginner class and now don't have enough good things to say about doing tricks with Morgan. I've enjoyed both the social and fitness aspects of the studio and feel like there's something for everyone there. Even if Pole isn't your thing the Lyra and Silks are incredible to watch. I thought pole dancing would be very difficult but it turned out to be so easy for me. I fortunately scheduled the right class time which consisted of not many students so each person got their own pole to practice. I definitely will try more advanced pole dancing classes. i've only been to the gym once in my life and it was only to try the zumba class.. i've been looking for a good way to workout that doesn't bore me to death.. i've been wanting to try pole classes for years and have a few friends that have taken a bunch of classes and really good (competition/show status)..so i was glad i found a good deal.. i told my friend i bought it and was going to start my classes soon and my friend was a bit apprehensive of me taking classes.. over-protectiveness? or fear it'll make me want to find a club to strip!? anyway, i bought a groupon deal for a month long session.. out of all the groupon like deals at other pole places this was the best bc it offered 4 sessions (level 1) for $100 while others just offer 1 beg taster session.. bel (owner) was my teacher and was really great. the first session you learn a few spins, transitions, and practice how to pull yourself up on the pole. second session, i was proud of myself for having enough arm strength to climb to the top of the pole and stay there a bit! i learned a good amount of beg moves to put together a freestyle routine at the end of ea session.. after each class i was so excited to practice, however, i didn't have a pole to practice on! =( by the end of the month i was sad that my session was over and wanted to continue onto the next level.. i wouldn't mind coming back and continuing lessons.. i'm just shopping around for the best monthly deal.. all pole places i've looked at are 120+/month! read more

Bel is the first person that I ever heard of doing Pole fitness... she knew this was going to be a big hit!! Ask anyone in her 15 mile radius because SHE taught them!!! She has trained under the most famous pole dancing trainers from around the world!! This is the most fun and unique form of dance where fitness is the result!! I have been doing it on and off for a couple of years and I absolutely love it. I have strengthened my upper body and legs in areas I didn't know existed. I am a lot more graceful and much more in tune with my feminine side. We have routines to music and as the exercises become more difficult, you in turn look and FEEL like a pro!!! The classes are very comfortable and the windows are covered so it is very private. It is in Club Sport but you do NOT need to be a member. She is the MOST affordable as I have done the research and other classes. I have found hers to be the MOST fun!!! I have also taken a private class where she went to my friend's house for a Bachelorette party!! SOOOO fun!!! We were sippin champagne and twirling on her portable pole!! Went to my first class earlier this week. Just moved to the area so was looking for a pole dance studio. Was happy to hear that the studio offers both 45 and 50 mm poles. Also they can go from static to spinning which is great. This was one of the studios that do offer morning classes which seems hard to find. Instructor was knowledgeable and great at spotting so I felt safe doing new tricks. Classes are an 1 hour and 15 mins. FINALLY....!!! So hard to find a class that's a decent length long. This allows time for stretching, working on moves and time at the end for free style. Can't wait to come back for my second class. read more

Just moved to walnut creek. I was getting cabin fever. My husband found this studio for me as I am a retired stripper.. The owner Bel was so amazing from the time we spoke on the phone all thru the class and even after the class she stayed and talked to me and the other class members a bit, gave me some extra pole time and conversation time. It was only 25 bucks and you get an hour but longer if she gets to talking ;) thank you Bel for a great class and studio. She's even nice enough to let me bring my 7 year old cause I don't know anyone to babysit. There is a gym with hoops and Olympic rings and a couch my kid can quietly play on For if I have a class and my daughter is not in school. how nice is that. That means so much to me. Since my first it took me a very long time to come back =[ BUT I'M GLAD I DID! Over the summer i began to take the classes more frequently and I've learned alot! I even ended up buying myself a Xpole to practice at home with when I can't make it to class. As of right now i've taken another break from class. This place has a very cool ambience. Belle is a good instructor and I appreciate how the class sizes are limited and you really get quality instruction to avoid injury. I went to Twirly Girl to try pole dance for the first time a little over a year ago. My first class I felt like a hippo in a tutu and could not even hold my body up on the pole at all. This was a wake up call that I needed to make some changes. I went to classes for a few months, then moved out of area. I started pole with a BMI of 32, and am now a BMI of 23. My only complaint is the price. It seems steep, but hey, its Pleasanton and everything is expensive. Where I go now classes are ~ $8 a session, compared to to $30. read more

I have been coming here for over 2 years now. I first got introduced to pole fitness by attending a bachelorette party here! I loved the challenge and the atmosphere. Shortly after I started in beginner classes with the owner Bel. After graduating from the beginner level I started attending Morgan's classes and she was able to take me to a whole other level. I was able to progress with my tricks and I am continually challenged each class, which I love! I have been taking Morgan's classes for about a year now and I have found that I have progressed so much with my tricks and my strength this past year. I just moved to the Bay Area and was missing my last pole studio. Twirly Girls was recommended by my last studio. I've taken 2 classes with AJ and love it! The atmosphere reminds me of my old place-everyone is super friendly, no caddy ness from anyone, and everyone is super supportive of each other. I love that. (I had tried a place in Berkeley and just didn't get that from them.) They also have a boot camp and they'll be adding silks (which I cannot wait to try! Been able to do some strength training on them but that's it so far). I haven't been able to meet the owner Bel yet but I did get to talk to her on the phone for a bit and she sounds so nice! I just started taking classes with Bel and I am truly happy to have found a studio and teacher like her. I have tried other places closer to home but nothing quite measures up to Bel and her studio. She really takes the time to teach and be sure you understand the moves. When things are tough for you she helps you modify them. I have been taking pole with Bel at my health club since January, and have since followed her to her new studio, Twirly Girls, which is dedicated to pole. I originally planned to take it for a couple of months to surprise my husband with a special dance for our anniversary--now I am hooked and I go once or twice a week. It was the perfect venue and event for us to make some great memories . We were able to set up decorations in the back room which had plenty of space for us. Bel provided a table for the snacks and champagne we brought - and I could bring in a song playlist on my phone . Bel was very easy to communicate with through email in planning the event . She is very professional, knows how to instruct a class in a very fun way and was also great about stepping back to let us socialize and enjoy our time together .
