No food here as it is a winery only. The service was personalized and sooo friendly and their wines great. We were served outside under a gazebo in cushioned chairs with a great view with the owner coming to chat with us. We loved all their wines but leaned toward their Pinot Gris as our favorite. Most wineries in Oregon require a reservation a few weeks in advance. But luckily we called on the same day and got an appointment immediately. Initially I was skeptical about this place. This place is located at the top of hill. We sat on outdoor seating. We really enjoyed the view and weather. The wines that we had for tasting are typical Oregon wines. We enjoyed the bubble and their dessert wine. The bubble is very smooth. I love the way to taste inside my mouth. The dessert wine is so unique and not too sweet. However it is flavorful. Lastly the service is super friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

Like a fine wine, this place gets better with age. (Ok, I couldn't resist that one). We went up here on Black Friday, when all the bargain hunters are out and about doing what they do, we opted for a relaxing day out at one of our favorite places. On Fridays throughout the winter this place offers various soups and wine tastings. Non wine club members $15 per person and wine club members $10. Totally worth the trip and tasting 7 wines while eating some delicious soup. I will definitely be back to taste and have a bowl this winter. Enjoy! read more

I'm leaving a review for J Wrigley because the wines and the conversation were so good on Saturday (4th AUG) at WineKraft. Rebecca, owner of WineKraft in Astoria, was hosting a wine tasting with J Wrigley. I do enjoy a good glass of wine and (this is my opinion and usually doesn't happen) I actually enjoyed ALL 5 wines that John was sampling: "Mac" Cuvée Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, and a special sparkling wine called "Jubilation". My guy and I went home with a bottle of each. I highly recommend a visit to the vineyards and enjoy some delicious wines. John and Jody have a real gem in the Willamette Valley and they deserve your business! read more

Lovely place lovely people, not my favorite Wines. My husband and I went up last minute and the people were extremely nice and accommodating. We followed google maps DO NOT DO THAT! Get directions from them first if you go! (Google Maps takes you to a dead end miles away!) we arrived and they had BBQ that day. The BBQ was delicious (only draw back was due to Covid since we had to sit outside, the wind was crazy and the bees were extremely attracted to our meal!) we had 5 samples (a Pinot Gris, Riesling, Rose bubbles, and two Pinot Noirs). After reading about the vineyard and the fact that you can't buy most of their wine in stores, we didn't want to miss out on this exclusive opportunity. In the end, my husband who is a huge Pinot Gris fan and me, a huge Pinot Noir fan - struggled hard to enjoy a single glass. We really wanted to like it we did! And the people were lovely. But depending on the glass , the front end or the back end of the wine left unpleasant tastes. Every glass had a great nose though! So that in itself was pleasant. We did buy 1 bottle of the 2015 Pinot because this bottle had a soft vanilla backend that would put nicely with a charcuterie board, but the front end was sharp. Our hope is that when we get it home and let it breath more that will help? (Like I said we really want to like it). read more

This is my new favorite place. It's completely off the beaten path, but once you drive up the dirt road you'll be rewarded with incredible views and great wine. They have a great tasting room and outdoor patio. If the weather is nice I can imagine sitting outside with a glass of wine would be absolutely perfect. The woman working was friendly and knowledgeable. John, the winemaker, was working in the area and stopped in to say hi. Super nice guy. For the most part the wine was really delicious. I particularly liked the pinot made from the Coleman vineyard grapes (right across the valley). It's a limited release so go and grab some while they still have it! Their signature pinots are quite tasty as well and I expect will improve with age. This place a hidden gem but I HIGHLY recommend making the detour! read more

We went to J Wrigley Vineyards for Mother's Day Brunch. This place was amazing. The hospitality was impeccable, our food was delicious, the views were breathtaking, the winding drive up to the tasting room was absolutely lovely. Everything about this experience was top notch right down to the fresh cut lilacs on our table. Not to mention the fantastic bubbly at the end of our meal!! Nice wines and positively lovely people: John and Jody. John focuses on making a balanced wine with good mouth feel. His tasting room looks like an old barn, but if you ask he'll tell you all their secrets about reclaiming old woods and materials to make this new room look old, charming and welcoming. Jody is a gracious hostess who you should be sure to ask about their "proposal" and "acceptance" wines. This property has been a labor of love and the culmination of their love for each other and for wine. Though he can be seen enjoying a beer in the field on a hot summer's day. They have a delightful story, welcoming reception and nice wines. Say hi to Jazz, the vineyard chocolate lab, and get a warm welcome if you see her. read more

What an amazing stop for our family - Grandma & Grandpa, Mommy & Daddy, and a 5 year old and a 2.5 year old. There were a couple of games to entertain the 2 little ones and grandpa (not a wine drinker), as well as plenty of space to play! After experiencing 10-15 wineries in Oregon over the last week, all the wine drinkers agreed this was the best wine AND the best experience! We went the long ways to get to the winery, so it was a little difficult, but I'm guessing if you follow the signs in Sheridan it's a little easier. Breathtaking views are almost an understatement! So today we attempted to visit J Wrigley... it was super rainy and wine country was relatively slow. We called to check ahead of time to make sure they would be open, but unfortunately when we showed up we discovered they had closed early. To be frank, I was pissed. We drove all the way to Sheridan to see this winery that we have been wanting to go to for years, as we always have their wine at Seafood and Wine festival and we are big fans! To make matters worse, we got stuck up at the top of their road for 30ish minutes because there was a big crew harvesting Christmas trees with a helicopter and huge trucks were blocking the road. I wrote a very 'to the point' email to the owner, letting her know how upset I was. Not 15 minutes later, she called me, apologized and offered for us to come back up so she could open the tasting room for us privately. Having just navigated our way through the sea of trucks and Christmas trees, we declined... she then went the extra mile and offered to have us come visit the winery again, in December and stay on the property. I am so impressed with J Wrigley's professionalism and generosity. I cannot wait to spend some time with them in a couple months and enjoy their vinyard! :) read more

The Wrigley family has a beautiful piece of land in the McMinnville AMA. We visited during a wedding, and it was stunning. We met the Wine Maker and his family at the event and he and I talked about the soil and the nature of his vineyards which showed me that he truly knew his stuff and what was good for his grapes. The wine was delicious. Usually I am not a fan of dry wine, however their Pinot Gris is my favorite and every time I'm in the area, I will have to pick a case up. i cannot begin to say how amazing this vineyard is. to the scenery, to the vendors, to the wine: everything is exceptional. i have been a club member for a couple years and recently had an engagement party in the tasting room and could not believe how smoothly everything ran. jody and mom took care of everything from the catering to the pouring and made all the guests feel welcome and attended to. everyone who was there could not get enough of the view and the feel for the place. if i could, i would live in the tasting room but i think that's illegal. j. wrigley is one of my favorite places on earth. hands down you will not be disappointed. read more

They have created such a welcoming, wonderful atmosphere at their vineyard, it is really wonderful. If you're interested in wine tasting, J. Wrigley is also hard to beat. We chose this venue for our daughter's wedding in 2015, site unseen. Once we visited, we knew we'd made a great decision. The location is gorgeous, although small, and the owner and event planner were awesome to work with. We have visited a few times since the wedding and are always very happy with the service and attention we receive. The wines are surprisingly good - much better than some of the higher-rated local wines (in our opinions). Well worth the drive even though there isn't much else to do close by. read more
