Rise and Vine Microbrewery and pub located in quaint Mount Joy, PA, that's been in operation since 2018. They specialize in brewing small, batch seasonal brews and a farm-to-table dining. The Good: *Friendly service *As mentioned above, the beers are seasonal so they're always changing. *Poor Life Choices Hazy IPA was very interesting. Probably the sweetest Hazy I've ever drank and, while I wouldn't kick it out of bed, it's not what I'd prefer. *Cheesy Beer Fries upgrade is a must! The cheese was perfection, with a nice flavor of beer without it being overwhelming. *Large space which is great for large parties. We had six people and it was no issue. The Meh: *Free street parking but it can be difficult to find at times, believe it or not. There are a few free lots close-by, tho. *Interior can get a bit raucous *The Rachel (basically a Reuben w/ turkey instead of pastrami) was very underwhelming, a touch greasy, and the ratio of turkey to bread was way off. The Ugly: *The Chicken on the Chicken Nachos was hammered hard--as if Chicken breasts aren't dry enough. We decided to stop in here for a sour this past weekend. We were greeted promptly and given a few minutes to look at their menus. We ordered the cran apple sour and it was rather tasty. We wish central PA sours would have more lactose to them, but have come to terms that it is what it is. They have 5 ounce and 16 ounce pours, which was nice for me, as I only wanted a 5 ounce pour. They also sell crowlers to go which is nice as well. We also ordered their fries with 2 dipping sauces - garlic aioli and beer cheese. Both sauces were tasty and the fries were hot and crispy - just the way I like them. For the cost of $5 I couldn't believe how many fries you received. We were stuffed and had dinner plans, so we did not indulge in other food. Their meals were about 12-18/person, which was not bad at all. Nobody seemed to have food around us, so I'm not sure what the portions looked liked (we were there at like 2 in the afternoon, so between meals). Great local hangout, the food is delicious and the menu has a variety of options from vegetarian to carnivore and all are great. Solid beer and good food! It was the second day of spring, sunny, and the yearning to sit outside at a brewery was strong. I called Twisted Bine Beer Company to see if they had outdoor seating, which they did, and we were on our way. Mount Joy is very fortunate to have a brewery like TBBC right downtown on Main Street! The beer menu has a nice variety with IPA, porters, lagers and some high alcohol brews also. We started off with a flight of 4 of their beers and I was very impressed with the overall quality, depth, and actual taste difference between similar styles (which is often lost in quite a few small breweries). The food menu looked great as we were hungry for some "snacky items". We started off with the loaded nachos, which are served over their crispy house made potato chips! Very delicious and a nice twist on traditional nachos. We followed this with an order of the loaded French fries, where as delicious. While the toppings were very tasty, the quality of the French fries was perfect! We are looking forward to returning to try one of their burgers, which looked great at a nearby table. The service was very friendly and welcoming, which contributed to the overall experience. I highly recommend TBBC as a stop if you are on your way between HBG and Lancaster! Beers: best microbrew around- Irish Red had a good after taste as well. Food: Fresh & tasty. I highly recommend the Philly-Pitts Steak Salad. Even my hubby finished his tacos and started to eat my salad. He doesn't even like salads!!! He enjoyed his fish taco very much. The crab flatbread could even be a dinner for someone. I would get that again. Atmosphere: I like that the music wasn't so loud. We could actually have a conversation. They had TV's around so we watched some of the draft picks. When warm weather comes looks like they can open up garage doors. There are tables outside too. Service: we walked in and were greeted right away. Nested on the corner lot. This hometown establishment has a very friendly atmosphere and is welcoming as you come through the door. Plenty seating and a few tables for outdoor seating as well. The bar is huge, and that's where we ate today. They make the beer in-house and the sweet tea as well. The sweet tea I have to say was the best ever. I mean, not too sweet and nowhere near bitter. Tea is a hit or miss. And they hit it on the bullseye. Kelly, the bartender/ waitress, was very understanding with all the beer questions from my friend. She was friendly and informative. I had the burger. From the look of it, it was a 10 from appearance. It was definitely med well and very juicy. The pretzel bun with it, I was not a fan of. This took away from the burger I feel. Visited on a Sunday afternoon, while our daughter was at a field hockey tournament nearby. We had a couple hours to kill between games, so I was eager to give Twisted Bine a try. Walked in to a very large space. Love the setup. Lots of tables and large clear garage doors to crank open when the nice weather approaches. Currently, you order food and drinks at the bar, grab a number and your food is brought to your table. I'm a huge fan of this system. Pretty decent tap list. Hop heavy for sure, but some styles that you don't see too often, like a Quad, Milk Stout, Barleywine, etc. Smaller pour options if you want to try a few beers. They had wine too. I don't believe any liquor was offered. Food menu pretty decent. You get your typical chips and salsa, fries, bavarian pretzel, nachos, egg rolls and some nice mains like creative salads, pizza, cheesesteaks, pork sandwich, shrimp tacos and some vegetarian offerings too. Something for everyone. The place was super clean and everyone super nice and inviting. I wish I lived closer to keep this spot in normal rotation. Will return again very soon. read more

Best wings I've ever had! So crispy and tender and the dry rub was great. The wings were huge with lots of meat and barely any fat or gristle. The fries were fresh cut and delicious. The garlic aioli didn't have much flavor and I would've liked some better dripping sauce options. The side salad was a letdown and I didn't realize there was cheese and croutons on so I had to go through and take it all off since I can't have dairy or gluten. The beers and atmosphere were great but the food items we had were subpar. I'm not a picky eater and don't have a very sensitive palate. But it was like they were making an attempt at being a Gastro pub, without the assistance of a gourmet chef. The Margherita pizza wasn't like any other I've ever had and not in a good way. The bartender suggested we add pepperoni which we did and I don't think it really added anything. The crust was very thin and burnt on the edges. There was a giant hunk of something red (crushed tomato) hanging off one side. The ratios of everything were really odd. The balsamic glaze was overpowering and tasted more like barbecue sauce. I asked for the shareable fries flight, I got the loaded fries. I figured it wouldn't be deal breaker, but boy was I wrong. The beer cheese tasted more like honey mustard with an odd consistency. All the different toppings were mixed together and didn't go well together. I was here pre-COVID when they first opened up. A lot has changed for the better since then. Thanks to Keri, their menu has expanded and the food was great! Really enjoyed the cheesesteak spring rolls, charcuterie board, and chocolate covered pretzels. I had their Wheat ale and a glass of Precious Pink (moscato from Waltz Winery). Just realized this is the old Newcomer Hardware Store that my great grandfather owned and my grandfather worked at in the thirties and forties. So cool that it became a brew pub. First off, this is a classy BREWERY, not a classy bar, not a dive bar. They serve only beer that they have brewed, and are proud of. After talking to the owners and brewmaster, you can tell this is their passion and not just a job. The place has a great atmosphere, perfect selection of beers, and the food menu had something for everyone. Beers: I had a few of the porters which were excellent, and tried a sip of everything they have from a friends sampler. I usually find one, MAYBE two good beers at a new brewery like this. Don't go here if that's what you're expecting. These guys nailed literally everything I tried (except maybe the Hefeweizen, that was still fine but I'm not really a hefe guy admittedly) Food: Our large party had everything from burgers to salads to chicken fingers and fries. Chicken was plump and juicy (both grilled and fried), burgers were cooked true to order, and the salads were presented well. The fries did look overdone, but it must just be the type of cut or the oil because they were just right. Service: Staff was super friendly and checked up on us often. Only weird part about the place is that the food and beer are on two separate checks...turns out these guys are phenomenal brewers but can't make a pop tart without burning it so they did the logical thing and hired experts for that, and you pay them separately. Not a big deal at all (reminds me of Troege's back in the day). This is definitely a do again! Try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Ate and drank at this place while on vacation at a Farm Bed and Breakfast in Mt Joy, PA, last night. Got a flight of all of their IPAs and found each of them ranging from good to excellent. The American IPA in particular was outstanding and I purchased a large can to go which I am now enjoying. I highly recommend the beer. The food was OK. Burgers were good but the menu could use some expansion- there wasn't much to it. And in addition re: the food- as mentioned in other reviews you have to order at a window and pick it up yourself which is not ideal. Food never came until we asked about it when ordering a second beer. It came after 1 hour, and we were told they forgot our order! First and foremost, I personally do not go to a brewery for food. We had a few appetizers with our beer and they were fine. The service: outstanding. The beers: good, I had the Blonde Top in fact multiple ones. The space: large (for a brewery) but sort of utilitarian in a way. Bathroom: clean The space also allows to view the brewing process. Visually pleasing. In Lancaster my favorites are St. Boniface, Mad Chef and this establishment. Next stops are the Black Forest and Iron Pig. Service is so important to me. These three rank high. The Kettle Works in Columbia for all the good it provides lacks service in the barkeeps. Twisted Bine, I believe has been only open 3 weeks. They have their act together in a very short time. Will only get better. BTW the Friday night we went the place had a large crowd, but service was superb. 4 barkeeps to cover. read more

Met some friends for food and beer on a Sunday. Place was quiet- meaning we didn't have to yell across the table to each other because the music was too loud. I really appreciated the environment. What an awesome brewery! I will admit I haven't tried the food but it sure did smell good. I sampled every beer they had on tap. Out of all the breweries I have been to there have been less 5 that I liked all of the beers they had to offer. As a matter of fact the number is up to 3 now as Twisted Bine is the 3rd. We received great service the staff was extremely friendly. You could tell they honestly cared what the customers opinions are. The place was very clean including the men's room. Recently visited the establishment early on a Friday evening. There were plenty of seats of the bar where we sat. There were two bartenders who were casually serving three people who sat together. Back and forth they went behind the bar while never acknowledging us. After ten minutes and not even a "we'll be with you soon", we left. We went to a pub down the street and ironically enough, a small group of people at the bar confirmed that the service at the Twisted Bine is lacking. The ordering of food is a little unorthodox because u have to go up to the kitchen to order ur food as well as to the bar for ur beer and pay two separate Bill's. The food was ok, had the cheesesteak, I shlda ordered it without the red sauce. The wife had the boneless medium wings and the apple walnut salad. The kid had the tenders and fries. The boneless wings were super salty and the salad was average. The tenders were very good and fries were ok. We had the flight of 4 beers, I enjoyed the East Coast Business Shoes IPA and the Untitled IPA. The Czech My Pils and the Mai Concerto wasn't for me. As an overall brewery, it's very nice. read more
