We had a few burgers and a pulled pork sandwich...all were good. We also tried the lemon ginger refresher which was tasty. This place is SUPER cute because of the indoor/outdoor dining option on the patio. I wouldn't hesitate to eat outside ever - the set up is great. We ordered our food at the indoor bar and it was quickly delivered to our table outside. My daughter lives close to Artifice and has attended Tuesday trivia which she says is fun. We found Artifice through the Ale Trail book. We enjoyed our first experience, we loved everything about it (food, drinks, atmosphere, etc). So, when we were looking to host a 25 person event, I reached out to them. I spoke with Julie Wrede (owner) and told her what we were thinking. In particular, we wanted to utilize the Broadleaf Room Patio beside the main restaurant. Julie could not have made it easier. The communication was awesome, she was very responsive. We exchanged a few emails to work out details and things were quickly arranged and ready to go. Yesterday we held our party and it was everything that we were hoping it would be. The room was perfect, we brought a few decorations to put out, there was plenty of room, the service was top notch (thank you Kate & Bri). The were orders taken and brought out quickly (I should mention that we did not all order at the same time, so these girls were hustling!) and everyone enjoyed their food. Julie checked in several times to make sure that things were as we wanted. And they were... drinks were flowing, food was being eaten, we played games out in the yard, we were having lots of laughs, it was perfect! Artifice went above and beyond. I highly recommend them for an event such as ours, as well as a fun time out with friends. Great place. read more

Server is forgetful, ordered drinks and she said she would bring them out and completely forgot about them for around 20 min, mind you it was not busy. We started with the bulgolgi egg rolls that came out way over fried, the sauce was OK tho. I ordered fried chicken sandwich, came out as a single chicken strip, over fried and over salty, my girlfriend ordered the pulled pork sandwich that came out dryer than the Sahara desert to the point sauce didn't help. One positive the Mead is still good and atmosphere is still chill. Over all I would not recommend coming here unless you want to spend $70+ on subpar food and service at best. read more

I visited ARTiface for the first time on Sunday afternoon in early August. This brewery and restaurant is located in the REO Marketplace buildings along Main St in downtown Manheim. This complex is near & dear to my heart because it is a refurbished set of buildings where my great grandfather ES Zimmerman opened the first car dealership that sold REO's in Mannheim in 1907. I think it's pretty cool that someone took it upon themselves to refurbish these buildings and even name it after the REO (Ransom Eli Olds). I think the actual brewpub is really in the old Bickel's chips building, but the preserved history is wonderful. So was my beer. They have a nice list of very types of craft beers and they also offer a food menu which I was not aware of before visiting and I did not partake of any food today. The bartender was very sweet and friendly and we had a nice chat and they have a nice additional room on the other side with couches and televisions and they also have an outdoor space and garage doors that open to the outside in favorable weather. I really enjoyed the look at the place and the selection of beers. The cool thing is that there is actually a 1929 REO Flying Cloud out front on the patio. I found plenty of free parking right on the streets, but I do believe there is a parking lot on the side of the marketplace. I definitely recommend you stopping by if you were in the area! My friend and I came here for lunch on a Saturday. She lives in Manheim and we were looking for someplace we haven't been before that served food and drinks. Found this restaurant on Google. It's easy to find, right beside the Prussian Street arcade. They said they had parking in back but it was a hodgepodge and nothing was available. Nothing was available at Prussion Street either so we opted for street parking. Be careful as it is dangerous and difficult to cross route 72! The inside looked like in it's former life it was a garage, very open and nicely remodeled but very exposed. Not the place you would go for an intimate dinner. There is no waitress service, you order at the bar and they bring it out. When you pay they still expect a 15% or more tip but you can bypass and write in your own. That is a pet peeve of mine when non waitress establishments expect full tips! My friend and I were both shocked by the prices (her lunch was $30) and considered leaving but she had all ready put in her drink order. The food was very meh, nothing special or original, which we were expecting at that price point. I had a small 4 ounce burger with the smallest amount of fries you could put on a plate (literally 4 fries!), she had a mac and cheese bowl with added meat, which raised the price, and said it was dry and flavorless. Shake Shack sells a better burger. Overall, food wise we were disappointed. While I would not consider coming back she would for drinks and events, as they have some lawn games and host karaoke night and such. read more

Wednesday is wing night! While I wouldn't recommend the garlic Parmesan flavor (they're oily) I would recommend the wings in general- they're crisp and meaty! The service went well, but you have to be patient. Given it was a Wednesday, there was 1 bartender and one food runner- you have to order at the bar and seat yourselves. Located on the main street of small town Manheim is this fairly new establishment. There is a parking lot on the same side of the street a building over. I came here with some friends who helped me move and treated them to a meal and drinks for their assistance. Seating is available outside. A variety of beers and unique meads are available that they make. Our waitress was personable, helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food everyone received was prepared well and everyone was very satisfied with their meals. Not many exciting businesses exist in this town so it is nice to have an establishment like this. I must admit, prices are higher than average but the combination of service and quality of drinks and food made it worth it. I will definitely return. read more

I really like mead and was so happy that I could get a flight of several here. They were all very good. We just got fries and chicken tenders and they were very tasty. It was a gorgeous early fall day so we could sit outside and watch the games in the open air area. The chef, Will, stopped by and checked in on us. Highly recommend the Bulgogi Eggrolls and the Chicken Bao Buns. So many more good looking items to try on the menu. Went here on a Friday night with my fiancée since I drive past it on the way to work and we wanted to try some place new. We were seated inside basically immediately, and I have to say I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the place. Gorgeous area and axe throwing is awesome, though we didn't partake this visit. Apps we both got a flight to sample things and split a tray of Bao Buns. The alcohol was great, I enjoyed every mead I tried and while my fiancée is a bit more particular she enjoyed majority of it, particularly the Jordgubbar and Red Keep Cherry Cyser! The bao buns were also delicious, the chicken was sweet with a bit of ending spice that was pleasant. I ordered the pierogis and she ordered the Mac and cheese with chicken. The entrees were....fine? My pierogis tasted good and the vegetarian sausage was a nice touch but there was a ton of arugula and less onions/peppers than I would've loved. Her Mac and Cheese tasted oddly plain, like it was missing something, salt maybe? We had none on the table and honestly we'd been drinking so we forgot to ask, that's our bad! The chicken was an extra cost and I noticed it was the same chicken on the buns minus the sauce drizzle of course. This was a bit disappointing, on its own the chicken felt kinda meh, again it seemed like a lack of seasoning. Overall okay, the alcohols the draw and I got exactly what I ordered, but it felt expensive for the result. Service was excellent, staff explained what we needed to know and numbered our flights which is small but something so many places just don't seem to do for some reason? Brussel sprouts and pretzel bites with beer cheese are highly recommended! Harvest salad was also very tasty as a lighter fare. Service is nonexistent because you have to get everything yourself. Including standing in line at the front desk. Including getting your beverages filled. It quite loud due to the acoustics of the walls if it happens to be busy while you were there or if there are children. After they leave, it's not too bad. We had three beers and a mead all were very good. We have been to many brewpubs and their beer is worth a visit. We had a pretzel which was tasty. Pierogis were delicious. I saw the current special entree of linguini and meatballs advertised on social media and had to come and try it. I wasn't disappointed, it was delicious! It was a three way tie for the star of this meal between the phenomenal sauce which decorated perfectly cooked pasta, the fantastic meatballs that could make the most diehard vegan contemplate cheating, and the incredible cheese garlic bread. Was there on a Saturday evening. Our server brought out the menus and began to recite all of the choices that they were out of which was approximately 10 of the 20 items listed. They literally had a black line drawn through each item on the menu which I thought was kind of tacky. The only alcohol available is their own which I guess they distill there. I enjoy a good beer commercially brewed or a known Kraft. They didn't have either. So, your best bet before going there would be to call and see what's available instead of wasting your time and being totally disappointed at what you find. I would have given the place only one star but I was impressed by the server being able to recite from memory all of the things that they didn't have. Came with a bachelor party for dinner and axe throwing. The menu wasn't the biggest, but the of the items that were listed on the menu, all sounded very appealing. The drink list on the other hand was quite the opposite, as it was very extensive with a wide variety of beer, ale, mead, and signature cocktails. Won't lie when saying I did believe the food prices were a bit steep, but the drink prices were fairly on par with what I expected. Food and drink quality were phenomenal. The bacon cheeseburger was full of flavor, the fries were the bomb, and the "Render Unto" Mead (orange dreamsicle flavored) was out of this world. Definitely a place I would consider again. A heads up though, the axe throwing was surprisingly only one single lane for the whole establishment, so if there are people throwing, it could be a significant wait, although they are very accommodating in making sure one group doesn't overstay their welcome. All in all, a solid place for drinks, food, and axe chucking. read more
