Our server was okay. I couldn't find him when I needed something. He wasn't very attentive. They were out of steak and salmon. They could have let customers prior to dining. The salad was over dressed in dressing where you can't enjoy it. And my ribs were uncooked and cold in the middle. I recommend not coming here at all. read more

It's been a while since I've been to Iron Hill. I had never come for brunch before on a Sunday. There were four of us and we made an advance reservation, which we would not have needed because the place was surprisingly empty when we arrived at 11:30. I was not that enthused by their brunch menu, so I just ordered the Brie burger on the regular menu. It was really lackluster, not very hot & cheese not melted enough. Helping of fries was small. We were the ONLY ones sitting in the bar area (my friend wanted to watch the Eagles game) & our poor server was sent home early due to lack of patrons. We closed out with him before he left. Everyone's food was just ok, as compared to the many times I'd been here pre-pandemic when we enjoyed it very much. Our server did say that they were going to be revamping their menu, which may be a good thing. read more

Walking into Iron Hill looks like what you would see at many other Brewery/Restaurants. A lot of dark stained wood and sport on TVs everywhere. I mainly care about the food though. First got some nachos and they were ok. It was a sizeable portion for two people. A ton of sour cream (which is a plus). They used real cheese which is good (more natural), but bad for nachos since it doesn't melt and get into the nooks and crannies. Flavor was fine, but it was hard to get consistent bites since the cheese was all stuck to the top of the pile and the cheese held on to all the toppings too. Chips at the bottom were unwilling participants in the next season of Naked and Afraid. I went against my gut of ordering a traditional entree and got the voodoo pizza with cauliflower crust (what was I thinking?!). When the pizza came out, the slices weren't cut through. I took my knife to the crust, but the dish should have come with a machete or bandsaw. I can't really tell you what this pizza tasted like beyond BBQ sauce because I was too focused on keeping my teeth attached to my gums. The redeeming part of the meal was getting a tasting flight - 4, 4oz pours for $9. If you are like me and don't like sour, avoid the spiced & fruity. I don't like too bitter either. My favorite of the beers I tried was the Vienna Red Lager. Meals are precious when you're traveling. I didn't have anything particularly interesting here, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're short on meals. It's definitely a popular spot for locals though. read more

Wanted to try it mostly because it's open super late on Saturday (12am) and I saw the gift cards for it at Costco, ha ha! Was greeted kindly by host, very friendly and gave lots of good information as we sat down, Bill I think his name was, great personality! We ordered beer flight $9 which is a great deal for four 4oz pours! Honestly this was all the highlight of the evening... sadly not much more from here. The appetizer we got fried green tomatoes, delicious but oddly had cold chili jam of some sort making the overall appetizer lukewarm and not hot. Flavor profile was decent though. Entree we decided to be a little adventurous... I got a turkey burger, was intrigued by the ingredients like guacamole and beer cheese. Honestly it was moist but 90% flavorless turkey with a store-bought textured bun, couldn't taste any of the other ingredients listed. My husbands entree also sounded delicious, Korean short rib taco with "roasted" potatoes. The tacos tasted more like bbq sauce and pulled pork. The potatoes were essentially boiled potatoes with a tiny sprinkle of pepper and salt. Despite coming at 10pm and being 1 of three tables in service, it was kinda on the slow end, saw the waitress a very short amount of time, my husband had to leave the table to fetch our waitress for the check. I usually always get dessert but unimpressed by food and overall service, so we paid and left. Ambience is what you'd expect, kind of a slighted elevated sport bar? Clean and well lit but nothing really else. Overall, come for the beer! Just come for fries or simple side dishes, as the food is not much to write home about. read more

So we walk in on a Friday night, 5:15pm, one party ahead of us waiting for a table. Rather tall blond hostess with an Ipad in her hand, Ask for a table for two. I am asked if I have a reservation. - I don't She tells me that it will be One hour before I can be seated. I look out at the half empty restaurant and now no one besides us waiting to be seated. I ask "Really, an hour?" She says well you can sit at the tables at the bar, or these tables over here.... They look like tables to me. So i say "Ok" She hands me the menus and points. Great experience stopping by for happy hour! This location does have a parking lot in the back which is very convenient. There is a variety of seating indoor, outdoor, and at the bar. The staff were all very friendly. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very sociable and treated us great! The environment was also nice! We stopped by for happy hour and they had some great deals! I got the special which included a flight of beer including 4 drinks and 4 sliders for $19 which is a steal! We got one of each slider and they were all delicious. We also got the chef special flat bread which had lots of toppings and tasted wonderful. Overall a great experience! My friend and I visited for lunch on a Tuesday. When we entered, we were asked if we had reservations (for lunch on a Tuesday??!). We didn't, but we were seated immediately. The place was pretty busy, which I took as a good sign! We both ordered the mushroom soup (best mushroom soup I have ever had!!!). My friend found a piece of plastic in hers, so the restaurant comped it for her. My Thai Chicken salad was pretty good but my friend didn't care at all for her Chicken Lettuce Wraps...they tasted "off." The menu is pretty big, and it includes many other items I would love to try. I ate here with a large group after visiting Dutch Wonderland. We had a reservation and were seated promptly at 7pm. Our server was friendly and attentive, really appreciated her kindness to wards the kids with their sundaes and tatoos at the end. Two people in my group had the pulled pork, my son had the kids fish and chips, we had an adult fish and chips, someone got a chicken entree, and then I had the fried chicken sandwich. It came either Korean style or with sriracha ranch. I went with the latter. The fries were piping hot and really yummy! Very easy to make a reservation online and a large free parking lot. read more

Iron Hill has become a staple craft brewer/eatery in these parts and they have been for at least 20+ years. But very recently they took a torch to their menu. Too many pages and too many items. There, I said it. That said, the new menu includes healthier fare as well as tacos, sandwiches, pasta, seafood, etc. My entree was the breaded pork cutlet with andouille gravy, garlic greens and mashed potatoes. The pork was very dense and a bit chewy and did not include enough gravy. The mashed potatoes looked tired. The greens were garlicky and fresh. My wife had the grilled salmon (at my urging) and ended up disappointed also in the mashed potatoes, and the salmon which, she said, was dry in some areas and appeared undercooked in others. There were nine other guests who had the fish tacos, taco salad, pulled pork, a wedge salad, and kiddie tenders and fries, along with a barrage of beer samples (and full ones). I'll withhold judgment on the new menu until we try the Exton location. At this writing, Iron Hill rates 3 iron lungs. read more

Nice but sadly not great. We had a 6pm reservation. Arrived waited a couple mi, great no issue. We sit waiter comes over, brings a water and a couple of beer samples still great. We forgo apps and order dinner and drinks. Dinner arrived almost 45 min after we order, annoying but ok. My plate was ice cold, my wife's was steak was over cooked. Ok so since it took so long and the other couple was ok with there plates, and we didn't want to wait another 1/2 hour we ate the dinner. Not really happy but since the other couple was happy didn't want to make a scene. The menu looks interesting and sounds good but, over done and cold. One more chance . . . We went to IHB for lunch today by F&M college in Lancaster. The Hershey location was packed with special "T's". The food and service were excellent. We started with the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and split the Strawberry, goat cheese spinach salad. The food was delicious. We had the chicken voodoo pizza with a cauliflower crust. It's a very nice space with high ceilings and plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Everything looked tidy and well-maintained. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we entered. It was happy hour so we headed right to the bar which had a few TVs. The bartender brought us both food and drink menus right away. We ordered a lager and an ipa. The lager was refreshing and light and the ipa was slightly hoppy and piney but not dank. After a few drinks we ordered the chicken sandwiches ($3 each) which came out freshly prepared, from the fryer, crispy and juicy but could have used a bit more salt. The bun was a potato bread and it came with the carrot and daikon pickles served with gojujhang sauce. The bill included a QR code to pay which was very convenient. Not as impressive as the last two times here, once for a yelp event and the other last year. Service was slow today with a nearly empty restaurant and the food was underwhelming. Maybe my choices are partly to blame, but they seemed good at the time. The chicken corn chowder was warm, not hot. Good flavor, probably order again. The firecracker Mac n cheese was bland. No spice and the cheese sauce was a glorified cheese wiz. Meh, never again. As I'm writing this, I probably should lower the rating to three stars but it's probably a solid 3 1/2, so I'll round it up for now. Maybe I'll give this place another shot, but probably not. There are many other places in Lancaster that I have yet to try and it would be a shame to miss out on some thing else better for the sake of coming here again. read more

Let's start with the food. The apps of sweet chili shrimp and pretzel bites were on point. I got a 1/2 rack of ribs for an entree. Meat was fall off the bone but the sauce was bland. A bit disappointed. The staff was amazing. Very pleasant and expedient server, bussers and runners. The setting is nice but the chairs are uncomfortable and it's July...please please crank the AC a bit higher. All those people on a Friday night and poor cooling made for a rougher time. We were hoping for a higher quality establishment... our waitress, Amanda, was fabulous, but the restaurant and especially the bathroom, were not clean. The Caesar Salad was average, and the sweet potato fries were thick, but limp. They were out of two of the four beers we wanted from their menu. I can't believe I'm writing a negative comment for Iron Hill. I'm writing this for my hubby who doesn't Yelp. He and a friend went in today (6/26) around 1:30 p.m. and the place was pretty quiet. They were seated quickly and then...crickets. No water, no menus, no contact. There were servers around them clearing tables and such, but nobody came to take their order. After 20 minutes they were frustrated and left. Maybe they should have flagged someone down but they chose to wait and see what happened. I'm guessing there was a miscommunication somewhere. This is one of our favorite locations and we've never had anything but great experiences there so I'm hoping this was a one-off. We will head back down to Lancaster at some point and try again. read more

A top rated brewery with a scratch kitchen, who could ask for more! The building and the inside are upscale. The beer choices were superb. I got one of their award winners and it was marvelous. We ordered the pretzel to start. Excellent choice, it came with a tangy mustard sauce and a spicy cheese sauce for dipping. For dinner we had the blackened chicken with tri-colored peppers over linguine. Also the the pork schnitzel with a sausage gravy, Yukon mashed, and steamed spinach. Both meals were first rate, fresh and made from scratch. One of the best meals we had on our trip. The waiter was very good and helped guide our food selections. Oh, the hostess was kind enough to switch us from a table to a booth by the window. All around top level service. I highly recommend this place for beer and definitely for dinner. read more

Summary: Great atmosphere, great beer, great food. Located near Franklin and Marshall College, along the strip of other restaurants and shops. Family friendly. My family and I visited here on a Monday night and this place was buzzing. With their happy hour specials Monday through Friday, it made sense the crowd that they attracted! We enjoyed ourselves.
