It's a decent restaurant but definitely overhyped. It's very very mediocre food. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was literally the driest sandwich I have ever had. Like drier than a Popeyes biscuit that you left sitting out all night type of dry. Potatoes were decent but greasy. My dad had the chicken pot pie and he said it was pretty good. Holy menu! I dined in on a Saturday with my brother and sister in law. They have been a few times and said everything was good so we visited while I was in town. I enjoyed the scramble bowl (not it's name on the menu) and everything was delicious! The portions are pretty large and easily be split. My brother got the Nashville chicken tenders and waffle which he didn't finish so we took part home with us. Their breakfast cocktail menu is just as extensive as their food menu so I did enjoy a boozy coffee - it was just okay and I wouldn't order it again, but would try something else. I had to Gangs All Here = Mini-versions of each of our Blackberry Almond, Caramel Apple and Lemon Curd Poppyseed pancakes. Serviced w eggs and bacon or sausage. The only form and function flaw I noticed is the flimsily little metal chairs which looked a little lower than standard but in all honesty, we sat in a booth. Why the single Star? We're conservative in our values and are not fans of sexual innuendos, double entendres , and euphemisms. Those things abound here; very similar to Wang Gang. We should've taken a cue from the name: "Twisted." But since our minds don't work that way, we were thinking twisted as in: Challah bread, Cinnamon Twists, etc. Nope, none of those. When you walk in, you notice several posters on the wall: S.O.B. (Son of a biscuit). Then there is the menu: "I like it Dirty, Size Matters, Menage EGG Trois, etc.". We get enough of that on most modern tv shows and movies; we don't need it when we're trying to enjoy breakfast. Probably several of you will disagree with me and have different standards. The crispy cheese was also a giveaway. We had to ask for our check from another waitress, we saw the bartender 3 times and we were sitting at the bar! So I've given this place a few tries by now and I think I'm qualified to leave a review. The first couple times I do think they were understaffed so the wait times were as expected but the food was just subpar. This last time we had the best server (Brandon B), super great service on his part, the bar is always so slow here he even had to go make our drinks himself. The food was missing items that were listed on the menu and their "tater twisters" were just frozen Arby's curly fries rather than the usual good ones. I've been wanting to try this place for a hot minute and maybe this experience is just a one off...and if you think I'm not picking- I've worked in restaurants/bars so maybe my expectations are different. 1) the food was solid 5/10...nothing too over the top but enough flavor to satisfy. I ordered the same thing as another person sitting at the bar and it seems my portion came out smaller...maybe I'm just blind. But here is where I have my beef- the bartender was constantly apologizing up and down the bar...like I can see you are busy but I don't need details. Secondly, I spent more time waiting for drinks and to tab out than I did to eat- and here is where I am concerned. Take my drink order then went and did like 10 other things then came back to make the drink. I finished before the couple next to me, but they got tabbed out first AND I was sitting there with my purse and card in hand- just kept walking pass. The water tastes like it came from a pool, it has a very strong chemically chlorine taste. The staff is fully aware, says they have tried everything to fix this, but has no solution. Management needs to bring in bottled water or something to solve this. The staff is in an awkward situation, knowing that there's a problem, but not being able to fix it. We walked in, went up to the host station a few feet from the door and were ignored for a good 2 minutes while 5 employees were just standing there complaining about something inside the station. I worked in the industry for many years, but would never consider flat-out completely ignoring a customer. It was quite odd. We waited for a while and were sat, gave our order and waited a long time for food. Not an issue, as they were busy and we're patient. The food, though, was an issue. The pancake was heavy on the cake and was akin to a flattened piece of sweet bread. The eggs weren't cooked properly. The brisket on my biscuit was incredibly tough and the potatoes had zero seasoning. Finally, if you have the name of a food in your restaurant name, it should be good. But the biscuit was a stale imitation of a Red Lobster biscuit. Not fresh tasting, crumbly, or satisfying. Oof. We were excited to come here and especially to try the namesake biscuits. They were tasteless. The "butter" was worse. We had the cheddar and bacon flavor. They were dense, dry.. extra dry and no flavor of cheese or bacon. We asked for regular butter, which was better than the drippy concoction served with the biscuits. We also ordered the Hash your mouth and the Apple pecan pancake. Both were good. I see why they didn't name the place, Fluffy Biscuits, Cheesy Biscuits or Delectable Biscuits.. I really like this place and that's saying something because I spent 7 years in Chicago eating everything in sight before recently moving to the area. This is my go to for breakfast. Their bacon is really good. It's thick and crisp. I am sick of the diners around here giving me limp and greasy bacon. I've ordered the brunch BLT. Fire. The chicken sandwich. Fire. And basic breakfast. Fireeee. The only thing I will say is I don't like their biscuits or the breakfast potatoes. I always get the twisty fries instead and they're so good. It's the same flavor profile of seasoning they use on the breakfast potatoes and in the biscuits and to be frank it's weird lol. BUT. Again just so happy to find somewhere in the area I actually want to go eat breakfast at. They use fresh avocado too. And their spicy Bloody Mary is delicious, one of the better ones I've had. read more

Amazing, fresh, fanciful, local and delicious food for breakfast, lunch or brunch! I began with "Commitment Issues" (story of my life!) which included sample flights of Green with Envy, I Like It Dirty and Boozy BBQ Bloody Mary's along with Nothing Gets Cheddar Than This, Gettin' Figgy With It, Bacon Is My Jam and Cinnamon Bear biscuits. I very much enjoyed the variety of biscuits which are worth an extra workout at the gym; my two favorites are the "Gettin' Figgy With It" and "Bacon Is My Jam" biscuits. Will definitely imbide in more of their adult beverages at a later visit. During this visit with friends, I had a chance to sample a variety of food items from their menu--The Nothing Wrong With Veggies, The Missing Link, Blackberry Almond Pancake. Very nice selection of tasty adult beverages and their Goshen Coffees are delightful. Well worth the trip and the 40 minute wait. Get here early on Sunday or the wait will be far too long. Looking forward to a future visit this autumn. Kudos to the waitstaff, bartenders and kitchen staff who did a fantastic job under the circumstances. Due to COVID-19, they are very short-staffed. I was in Edwardsville for work and saw this place. I ordered on my phone for pick up. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy, Home fried, overeasy egg, bacon and a side of Grits. I went to the building after about 20 mins. I get there and the host said it would be a few more mins. 20 more mins later a guy comes out with my simple order in a bag. The staff is nice the seating was odd with hard metal chairs but it was hip and fun paintings everywhere. My food was not that good. The "Home fries" were Southwestern style though it didnt mention it on the menu. It had nasty peppers and onions mixed in. The biscuit was one large cheddar biscuit split in 1/2 it was not bad. The Egg was so small i barely saw it. my bacon was missing. The Grits was a sloppy mess and bland. From the reviews non of this is rare I guess. I think they need to hire new Chefs and cooking staff that know what they are doing. There were lots of staff under 20 there. read more

We are always on the lookout for a good breakfast/ brunch place so we gave this place a try. Atmosphere was nice...good colors, felt open and inviting. We both ordered items with brisket, getting "Kiss My Brisket", and the "Hash Your Mouth". We also ordered some biscuits to start with. The biscuits, which you would think would be the best item given the restaurant name, were just ok. We had the "cinnamon bear" and "getting figgy with it" varities. The actual flavors were decent. However when I think of getting a biscuit, they are light, fluffy, with just a touch of crisp on the outside. That is not the biscuits you will get here. Ours were dense, somewhat hard, more like a scone than a biscuit. If that is your thing you will probably like them. We, unfortunately, do not really care for scones or these biscuits. On to the entrees. The big items on both of our plates did not seem fresh, just food that was prepped the night before and reheated. Brisket on both dishes was bland and also was somewhat dry. The potatoes on the Hash Your Mouth dish were similar. Somewhat dry, lacking in flavor, tasted reheated. Even the waffle was not great on the kiss my brisket. Same situation, not a ton of flavor...and somewhat dry. All in all, the food was just average, or even a touch below average. When we left I made the comment that it looks like they are trying to be a chain restaurant...and the food tasted like a chain restaurant. Nothing great, nothing really offensive. Just ok food in a nice atmosphere. Full disclosure. We tried this place one of the first days it was open...so perhaps food quality and / or recipes will evolve with the restaurant. . I visited them Wednesday for brunch. First time here since they opened. Waitress was extremely helpful with menu and very upbeat friendly. My food came out quick and hot only took about 8 minutes. Portion size was great not to much not to little. Food tasted amazing along with my cold brew coffee. All guests were enjoying there food and the restaurant was very clean and organized. We normally go to this restaurant at least once a week. Some days the food is better than others but most of the time it's pretty good. Today, for the second time in this restaurant we received old food. We went in about 9:15 this morning at the Edwardsville, IL location and ordered biscuits and gravy. Clearly the biscuits had been sitting around for hours. They were very hard. I left almost all my biscuits and gravy on my plate. That's how bad it was. My fiancé got the home fries and they were cold. I complained and the manager gave us $2.25 off. I told the waitress that it was an insult. She went and talked to the manager and he took off an additional $2.25. He didn't even come over and talk to us. How insulting! The last time we got old food was on the one year birthday/anniversary celebration day. I told my fiancé it was because they didn't get as many people as they expected for the celebration early on in the day. We just blew it off. Because of the way the manager treated us today, we will not be back! Breakfast is the easiest and cheapest meal to make and if they can't even make their signature item well, they won't be open long. Especially with their customer service. (The wait staff is great though. This is not about them). For as much as they charge, the food should be amazing! I'm just sorry that I bragged on fb about this restaurant. Had the Mind Ya Biscuit breakfast. Overall food was decent. The biscuit was underwhelming. Despite the bacon and cheddar, it was lacking in flavor. And in my opinion a little too dense/dry. Ordered sausage patties, they also lacked flavor and were overcooked and dry. The gravy was amazing and had great flavor as did the country potatoes. The eggs well cooked perfectly. We ordered scrambled eggs, got fried....had to wait for the correct order. Sigh, where to begin. Arrived at 11:20 for brunch. There were 4 of us, and they seated us at a table with 2 legs on the "side" of the table instead of a single pedestal. As such, 2 of us had to straddle a table leg which was not comfortable. Our server (who was training a new person) had no personality. The person they were training was more friendly! We ordered brunch and it took 55 minutes to finally be served! Not once did the server check in with us to give us a status update or refill our coffees or waters. Most of the food was lukewarm to cold. Initially, they didn't provide any butter so we had to ask for it. Server gave us 4 or 5 patties, but we had to ask for more. He gave us some more and almost seemed irritated with us for asking. The butter was ice cold and on food that was lukewarm at best, took forever to melt. Pancakes were overcooked and almost rubbery! Needed a knife to cut them! Their "signature" biscuits were small, hard pucks. Suffice to say, extremely disappointed with service and food. Do NOT recommend this place! This place has only been open about 3 weeks so therefore lots if people are wanting to try it. We had about an hour wait on the July 4th weekend which I can fully understand. The wait did not disappoint. There were 4 adults and 2 children in our party and we all ordered something different for breakfast. Everything came out in a timely manner and it was all correct. I had the brisket on a corn bread waffle with poached eggs and hollindaise sauce. It was very good. We also got 2 orders of their twisted biscuits, one with bacon inside and the other was cinnamon & raisin. Our server Brandon B. did a great job of taking care of us even though the place was packed as I previously mentioned. I would definitely stop here again!
