Our group of seven went in here on a recent trip to Seaside. We were greeted upon entering and seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and polite. She took our order and it was 100% correct. The food was delicious. And the fish and chips were the best that we have ever had hands down. Had fabulous service at Twisted Fish in Seaside. We sat in the bar, the server/ bartender ( 6/26 after 6) was extremely friendly, yet didn't bother us. Had a great ribeye and sautéed vegetables- cooked perfectly. We also ordered lobster cooked perfect, jasmine rice was delicious. They we're very willing to have substitutions, nice to know. Picked this place for dinner and found the staff charming and welcoming. I had a cup of chowder which was amazing compared to the one I had yesterday. I was warned it had bacon/pork which isn't an issue for me but I appreciated the forethought to warn me. I got their sirloin medium rare with their mashed potatoes. The steak was 30 seconds under, but I don't mind. It was juicy and delicious. Came with green beans and asparagus which were cooked but still had a nice bite to them. There was a salad of radish, clover micro greens, and a sweet drop peppers. The potatoes, especially with the steak juice were phenomenal. Had some mango sorbet to finish and it was a wonderful way to finish the meal. A smidge hard when it came out, but I can't fault the restaurant for that and sorbet melts. With leftovers from our primary meal still on our plate in front of us, the server arrived with the check. NOT ONCE did she ask if we would like to-go containers NOT ONCE did she inquire if we would like anything else. NOT ONCE did she offer dessert or coffee. NOT ONCE did she thank us for our patronage! Then, as we are writing on the check, she comes and asks if payment is ready, and she was handed exact cash for the bill without any tip. We went to the Hostess station to complain about the service, and were not even offered an apology for our experience. Complete disappointment. Sat at the bar and there was a young woman who was clearly drunk. Could barely stand up straight and was continuing to be served by the bartender (Cody?). I requested a hot decaffeinated tea since it was late and was provided a black tea with a partially torn off tab to conceal that it was in fact, black tea, which has caffeine in it. Upon talking to the staff, they had decided, as a team, that trying to trick me was a better idea than telling me they don't have decaf options or recommend a hot water with lemon... After the tea issue we went to play shuffleboard and there was a small bit of salt on the board so I asked Cody for salt to use to which we were told they didn't have any and we had to collect what we could from the side of the board to play....as in the salt that had already fallen off the board into the carpeted sides. There is no way for us to pinch enough salt together to make it work. I've been to better bars with way better service. I don't appreciate bartenders over serving patrons, especially when it is clearly an inebriated young woman who is ALONE. I don't appreciate the decision that was made by multiple people on the team about my drink order. Our entire visit here was a terrible reflection of this business. I don't recommend this place. My friend and I ordered take out. We got the ny strip with prawns mashed potatoes and veggies, iceberg salad, Brussels, and clam chowder. We ordered the steak med well and it was WELL done. Very dry not very flavorful. Which is a real bummer because it's $29. The mash potatoes were ok. The veggies included a good amount of asparagus and also broccoli that was almost flowering and was a pale yellow, not green. All this was Topped with bundle of bland almost raw spaghetti squash? Very disappointing. The shrimp were amazing though. Wish we would've just gotten a plate of that tbh. We also ordered a iceberg wedge but They were out of iceberg so they just gave us Romain instead, which is fine but I was personally craving iceberg so I was a little disappointed. Brussels sounded delicious but had no crisp to them. It was just wet bacon, wet Brussels, topped with wet balsamic and cold parm. The flavor was ok but honestly super disappointing when you're expecting crispy Brussels with bacon and you get the texture of boiled Brussels sprouts. And the clam chowder..... it honestly tasted like clam gravy. It was weird, thick, and has a flavor we couldn't quite pin down. I think it just needed to be thinned a little?
