Peel and eat shrimp
Katrina M.

We came here late on a Tuesday night in October. It wasn't busy at all and we thought it might be closed or at least closing very soon. Thankfully we still had enough time before they actually closed up to order food and have a seat. We were seating inside in one of their wooden booths. Ordered a couple of beers and were starving so we ordered a little more than we needed. Food came out quickly. An order of peel and eat shrimp, good maybe slightly overcooked but not bad. Boyfriend had the crab cake sandwich/burger. Being pleased with his choice it was quickly gobbled up along with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes. An order of wings with sauces in the side. Wings were cooked perfectly. We decided to try the banana Cajun sauce. I found it interesting but not really something I'd order again. My boyfriend however thought this was awesome!! To me it kind of tasted like a spicy bananas foster. I had the Cajun shrimp tacos. Super good! A side of their coleslaw which was delicious - had some Granny Smith apples sliced in it which added tart yummy flavor!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would come here again! I bet it gets super bus and fun on weekends or event nights!! And probably during warm summer days when you can sit outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is close to the casino, walking distance as a matter of fact if you are staying there. The servers and bartender were very nice, super friendly!!

All the food was SO GOOOD! Everything tastes fresh and is cooked very well. Our server was really nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The little wooden booths are cute too[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Twisted Fisherman is great for the vibes, but if you're looking for excellent seafood or top notch service, look elsewhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always super slow and always a little confusing as to why - open tables but a wait, have to sit at certain tables and not always in the sun like I want. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great stop if you're kayaking on the river or just want to have a drink by the water, but not top notch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Piña Colada

Went to Twisted Fisherman and sat outside since weather was nice. The strawberry mojito was pretty tasty and the piña colada was delicious. We loved the fried calamari as it was very lightly breaded and tender- comes with cocktail sauce. The blackened salmon had a slight kick and really good flavor. I didn't like the coleslaw side as it was a bit too dry for me but the garlic mashed potatoes were pretty good just very rich. Our waitress was super kind and attentive which I really appreciated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a large amount of seating inside and outside which is great for larger parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have beach chairs and tables to sit on the "beach" too, in addition to piers for boat tie up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend trying out if you want affordable, good value, and tasty seafood and bar options with a river view

I love stopping here when I'm kayaking, or even if I'm not coming from the waterside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are very convenient public docks, have friendly service, great food, amazing drinks and cocktails, the ambience is amazing with the Adirondack chairs in sand, family style picnic tables with umbrellas outside, as well as ample seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't recommend this place enough!

Lobster ravioli with a side of grilled vegetables

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Twisted Fisherman takes you to a beach restaurant on the Florida coast, however, it has that Milwaukee flair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was very personable and friendly. They gave us many recommendations and insights about the city. My lobster ravioli was creamy and full of lobster. Would love to come back during the summer!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar was busy at 5pm while they were also accommodating a rehearsal dinner and a boat dock party. Nice job keeping up![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The crab cakes were phenomenal! The pile of greenery with it- so unnecessary;) The GM works that room/bar like a dance- sooo on top of it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The game will be on, but the sound will be music. And the tunes were 90s jams! Turn it up![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bread pudding needs a shout out too. And their Happy Hour. Just go:) ENJOY!!!

Bar hopping by boat is FAR better than bar hopping by foot! During an evening of cruising the Milwaukee River, Twisted Fisherman was our first stop! With ample docks to tie up the boat, an extensive outdoor patio along with indoor seating, rustic costal chic decor, large bar, we felt right at home as soon as we walked in! The 8 of us bellied up to the bar, ordered a variety of cocktails and interacted with the bartender - who was extremely friendly. Although we didn't stay for dinner, the extensive menu looked and sounded delicious - seafood, steaks, crisp salads and more - a perfect taste of the coast! When back in MKE, I'd easily return!

Calamari, crab cake sandwich and Tai mai

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Such a nice place by the river, drinks are awesome, music so nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I cannot believe I've never been here before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The beach is so fun, small but cool with a drink in a nice day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They supposedly have domes for winter. Ordered crab cake sandwich and calamari with a taimai yum

Chocolate cake Apple cobbler

My friends & I got beven oysters as an appetizer & they were so cheesy, savory, & tasty! For the main course, I couldn't decide whether to get meat or seafood, so I got the surf & turf which comes with both. The ribs were soft & fell off the bone nicely. The snow crab cluster tasted great with the melted butter, but I did have difficulty breaking them open. The sides I got were mashed potatoes & vegetables. For dessert we got a slice of chocolate cake & an apple cobbler to share. Both were good. Let's just say we all left pretty stuffed.

Brian, your awesome barkeep.

Twisted Fisherman never disappoints. The atmosphere is loose and fun and the decor helps bring it all together. The menu is primarily sea food oriented, this their name, but the chicken wings are excellent, along with the pulled pork sandwich for those desiring not sea food fare. They make a good cocktail and the barkeeps, Mike and Brian, are sure to engage you with you a friendly welcome and great service. Twisted has an awesome outdoor sitting area when weather permits and also have "igloo" surrounds for not completely agreeable weather for quaint sitting for two, or small group. Pass this place by is only at your loss for a jewel, that after visiting, you'll be bringing many of your friend to. Hang out and have fun time!

I had heard about the Tin Widow's holiday pop up being one of the best area, the hype was not wrong. From the entrance to the ceiling and walks, this place is the definition of deck the halls. Unless you get here right when they open it early in the holiday season, I would expect a crowd. The drink menu is so fun with holiday themed drinks served in matching glassware. You can even purchase the glass/mug for an additional fee. A lot of the cocktails looked to be batched cocktails which help with the bartender's efficiency. Highly recommend making this place a holiday stop. I'm also curious to stop in after the holidays to experience it without all the holiday decor.

They had several seasonal cocktails in special festive cups, which you could also buy to take home. I got the Cheery Cherry Chocosaurus, which was good, but pricey for what it was. Almost all the seasonal drinks were $15 each and didn't seem too big. The venue itself is medium sized, but feels crammed quickly. There's more people let in at a time than there is seating, so you have to move fast to get a seat. I'll likely come back during the summer to try something else.

We knew Brownstone would be the perfect place to celebrate. All positive feedback! 1. Cleanliness and Management The establishment is always clean. I was to witness the owner personally wiping down tables and adjusting furniture. Seeing an owner take such visible pride in their business and never being "too good" to work really stands out to me and sets a great tone for the venue. 2. Happy Hour, Drinks, and Vibe Their happy hour is absolutely amazing, with affordable prices and great options. It normally stops at 7:00 PM, but they extended it until 9:00 PM last night! The drinks were made to order, arrived shortly after ordering, and tasted great. They weren't so strong that you couldn't enjoy them, but they definitely packed a punch. The atmosphere was flawless thanks to the staff and 2 DJs who kept the music upbeat and perfect. The entire crowd was having a time, singing along on cue and swaying to the music. 3. The Food We ordered pasta and happy hour appetizers, and everything was delicious. From presentation to taste, the kitchen delivered exactly what we were hoping for. I have absolutely no complaints. It was another fantastic experience celebrating a great holiday with an even better crowd. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! In fact, I might even head back after Summerfest this weekend!
