The idea of this place is pretty fresh, however the logistics are poorly set. Considering the price, you should expect fresh and a clean dining area to enjoy it in. Unfortunately that is not the case. Honestly, it wasn't so fresh- but the line between "not so fresh" and "definitely not fresh" was hard to draw due to the lack of cleanliness in the dining area- which admittedly- was almost intolerable. It would have been nice to have a proper "fresh" dining alternative but this is just not it. I feel like it certainly has the potential, but being that this very basic thing isn't being met- I feel like small profits NOW are all the management cares about, not the huge growth potential. Overall, a decent experience. I got the ground beef tacos (3) and they had very little beef (less than a 1/4 cup) and a single slice of avocado. Kind of unusual. The shells were insanely huge for the amount of ground beef and the lack of toppings. My boyfriend got the Cajun chicken burrito and it was much more loaded and tasteful. I'd probably go with that next time. Awesome and wide selection of sauces. Clean building. Friendly staff. Probably will be back to try more of their menu. read more

Not bad, not great. It's okay. I am vegetarian and have not tried many of their wraps. I have only eaten there two times. The first time, I didn't like what I ordered. The second time was a good experience and I thought my wrap was tasty (Not particularly helpful when I can't recall what I ordered). We have been going here for years and it has always been a favorite when we are looking for something quick without going for typical fast food. Tonight it was not fast and it was less than good. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food (with three young kids, mind you). Once food arrived, my bbq bacon burger was missing bbq sauce, which come to find out they were out of. Burgers were over cooked and less than flavorful. Fish tacos were sub par. If we were waiting for the delicious food we have had in the past, I guess it would hurt a little less, but everything about our visit was a let down. They obviously do a hefty take out business, but seemed ridiculous to not prioritize those dining in over the carry out orders. The customer service was lacking- would have been nice to know when we ordered that there was a substantial wait, and also if you are out of ingredients it would be nice to know when ordering. Not sure that we will go back to this location again. read more

The other reviews are right on here. This new sandwich/wrap/taco joint is a refreshing addition to Western Shawnee. It is a nice concept too. The owner is on site and the food consists of higher quality ingredients than the chain sandwich shops. It's a little more expensive than Subway or Mr. Goodcents, but you get what you pay for at Twisted. The chicken is grilled fresh when the order is placed and freshly sliced fruit is a side dish option. We split a BBQ, Bacon, and Cheddar Chicken wrap and a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The BBQ wrap was good, but the Buffalo Chicken Wrap was awesome. The small slices of celery inside were a nice touch. I'm looking forward to trying the tacos next time. read more

If this review were based solely on the food, I would give it 4 stars. It's solid, good food, but nothing to write home about. The 3 stars includes the service. I went there on a Sunday with my family and there wasn't a wait. I ordered the chicken cobb with ranch dressing, in salad form, with a side of fruit. My two dining companions had the spicy thai chicken wrap, as a salad, with fruit and the 4 Alarm Burger with cottage cheese. Everyone was quite happy with their food, but those of us who ordered fresh fruit got an apple, when the sign implied cut up fruit. I see on their website that they just do apples now, but that was a bit misleading on their menu board on site. Anyway, the issue was once we put our order in, we waited over 20 minutes for our food to come out, while 2 other families with hot, time-consuming food were served first. I think what ended up happening is that they put us down for carry-out, even though we definitely said eat in. I was hangry after a workout and no breakfast so this pissed me off more than it should of, but it was really not good customer service to have several tables who arrived several minutes after we did - like 10 minutes - get food before us. read more

Everything is freshly cooked to order & there's a wide selection that will keep both the veggies & the omnis happy. My chicken gyro twist was savory & delicious. The "German" potato salad, which was obviously made in store, fell a little short -- the potatoes were undercooked, thus a little crunchy -- it was just a standard potato salad, it wasn't even remotely teutonic; but it had bits of sweet red pepper in it that really livened it up. They also have some tasty habanero sauce on the counter that I douse my wraps in. My personal favorite is the Thai veggie wrap, but I've had other things on the menu and haven't ever been disappointed. I was leaving when a minion took my order, manager was put out, as he was in front of the register and had to move out of the way. Hot sauce bottles empty and encrusted with dried sauce. I've had fish tacos at many places in San Diego. I've had them on the East coast as well. I swear the best fish tacos I have ever had are at a strip mall a 10 minute walk from my house. Twisted has a wide variety of food - wraps, hamburgers, tacos, burritos. I'm sure they're great. Occasionally I have swayed and had a burger or a wrap. And I've never been disappointed. Except they never match up to the fish tacos. The chicken tacos and beef tacos are outstanding as well. But they're not the fish tacos. Listen. Do yourself a huge favor. If you live within 2 hours of Kansas City, drive to the middle of nowhere Shawnee, at the intersection of Shawnee Mission Parkway and Monticello, ask the high school kid there for an order of fish tacos for here. Sit down, wait for your name to be called, pick up your order, wolf down those three hot fish tacos, and tell me your mind is not blown. read more

This one has been a long time coming. I spotted the Twisted Fresh off College more than a year ago, and had no idea what it was. A little WWW surfing and Yelp research later, I learn that it's a pretty outstanding and popular food joint (which, as intuition did not have it, was NOT my first, second or third guess), focusing mostly on tacos and wraps. And I eat tacos and wraps. So, why did it take so long to get here, with it being literally right around the corner? Well, 2015 (and '16, so far) have been unique years for M.O. and wife, insomuch that we've adopted a new way of eating, and it has severely minimized the amount of dining out we've been able to execute. And when we have been afforded a rare opportunity to dine out, we've gone big. That said, we've been missing out. We should have come here much sooner. Twisted is legit. Today was FINALLY the day I made it, albeit the Shawnee location. I had the Thai Chicken wrap, which was Outstanding. Yes, capital letter "O". For little more than pocket change, you get a fresh (no surprise there, but I mean "chicken-goes-on-the-grill-after-you-order-it-fresh"), large wrap made to order, with side. From the words leaving my mouth to the food entering it, the wait was less than five minutes - fast preparation and service. I was majorly full. "On a wrap and apple, M.O.? Seriously?" This has been on my to-try list for a long time. It was good. Now that I've experimented a little, I'll order differently and I'm sure it will be even better. I tried the Chicken Gyro and the Spicy Thai Chicken wraps. The gyro is too salty, but I think it's the feta. Next time, I'll leave off the feta and I think it'll be close to perfect. Spicy Thai was one of those things I knew in my heart I probably wouldn't like, but I really wanted to try something different. I liked the slaw, but the rest wasn't that exciting. It is spicy, but not too spicy. The flavor profile just didn't hit me quite right, so it wasn't my favorite thing ever. Someone else might love it, but it wasn't for me. It's nice to see a place that employees young people, but they still act professional and produce a good product.
