The service here was phenomenal. Our waitress V was incredibly knowledgeable, fun & kind. Other servers delivered our food & took away our plates & they too were super friendly. This should be the gold standard in all restaurants; these are the things that make dining out enjoyable & create return customers. We had the calamari - fantastic. I got the fish tacos with cod, rice, & veggies. It came out on 2 plates! Everything was delicious & the zucchini was not overcooked. My fiance got the dragon noodles, spicy. The dish was delicious, the noodles were perfect & the spice wasn't too much. We both had a great experience & will definitely return to the establishment in the future. It was my fiance's birthday & we put that in Open Table when making the reservation & for the first time, it was acknowledged. When they brought out our espresso layer cake, there was a candle in it. Dined outside on a weekend, gorgeous out! Ambiance is nothing special but also no complaints. The food was delicious though for the most part. The calamaretti pasta was outstanding, 10/10. The chicken panini was good, pesto on it was great. They serve sandwiches with ruffles potato chips which i was a little bummed about. Having fries, or a salad, or something homemade would have elevated these entrees a lot! Two of the people we were dining with got martinis, they were strong & yummy. Sometimes I wish we could rate service and food separately but oh well I settle on 3. Our server was a hot mess, she admittedly drank an entire pot of coffee before her shift so flighty she was. My mom and I have celiac and asked about what was safe since the menu is not marked. The server told us serval wrong items and had to check with the kitchen multiple times. We started with two appetizers, grilled artichokes and pulled pork. We did not enjoy the artichokes that much, they tasted burnt and the sauce was strange. The pulled pork however was very good and had a nice smokey taste. For dinner I had the flat iron steak and it was exceptional. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and the chimichurri sauce was outstanding. The rice that came with it was boring and seemed like an odd choice though. My parents enjoyed their crab cakes and scallops so I would also recommend those. The atmosphere is okay, nothing special. The entire restaurant is tables, no booths and they are rather close together and it's hard to navigate. We watched two servers drop things on people they bumped into and someone tried and fall. First time at the twisted Olive. This place is really jumping in packed with people. It was restaurant week, but I didn't think I could eat all five courses. So, I ordered off the menu and had the bacon wrapped pork mignon. It came with bok choy, and a spring roll, and I cleaned my plate. Everything paired well with a Pinot noir, and after dinner, I tried one of their infused drinks, the fig and fennel bourbon. Another excellent choice. So far, I've only been here for cocktails, but they're some of the best I've had in Bethlehem. Their bar staff clearly takes pride in the craft and will literally make you anything (even if it's a real, time consuming, egg white shaken whiskey sour). It's a nice, upscale, but typical what you would expect from a gastropub-type atmosphere. Their fusion menu looks very interesting, so I'm excited to go back to sample a few dishes. My family and I ate here for dinner while dropping my sister off at Lehigh University for freshman year. Everything was to die for. We started with the grilled artichoke and French onion soup dumplings which were both so flavorful. We ordered the crab cakes, the skirt steak, the barramundi, and the seafood vodka sauce pasta. We enjoyed the food mostly. It was a thoughtful menu with good flavor combinations. The prosciutto pizza came with a fried egg and unfortunately the yolk was hard. Maybe next time they could ask what the diner would prefer? The bread was a bit hard and we had to ask to get it. The pork belly salad is not a salad. It is 4 pieces of lettuce on a small plate. The service was poor. Our waiter, Greg, was not as attentive as we would have thought for this price point and it seemed like he was annoyed with us. When he came to pick up our plates after our appetizers and our meal he said sarcastically both times "You guys were hungry!" Yes, Greg, that's why we came out to eat. This place was SOOO good. The ONLY thing I didn't like was my martini. It was my first and last time ever trying a martini. I had no clue how strong they were but man I was definitely twisted after dinner haha. I highly recommend the Twisted Olive when visiting the historic district of Bethlehem. You can't go wrong with anything you order, but I would suggest some of their very unique selections which are noted on the menu by the twisted olive insignia, specifically do not miss the French Onion soup dumpling appetizer or the Pacu Fish ribs, both absolutely delicious! I've lived in Bethlehem for 33 years and I always passed this place but I never stopped I'm glad I did today! My daughter and I went on a date I went twice in one day it was that good!! I had the grilled artichoke and I was impressed so delicious and hearty I will definitely get that again! Everything about it was delicious the fresh w sauce you can tell these ingredients are super fresh. Chef has an amazing garden the bartender was raving about and it's good to know where these veggies and herbs are coming from. I also had the tuna tartare which was creamy and full of flavor. Dinner with hubs before a show at the Wind Creek Casino. Was able to make my reservation using OpenTable, which was nice. They had a decent amount of eclectic appetizers and dishes but nothing too overwhelming. We got the lamb meatball appetizer, which was actually amazing. My husband was a little unsure as it came out, covered in a white creamy sauce, which was yogurt. It was very very good. The lamb meatballs were very delicious. my drinks were well-made. Definitely worth nine dollars. I had the marinated chicken which was absolutely delightful. The chicken was paired with wilted greens and rice. It was all very delicious with a caper sauce and black olives. Couldn't ask for anything better. My husband had the Thai salmon, which came with a seaweed salad, and forbidden rice. The seaweed salad was a little offputting for him as the texture wasn't something he was fond of. The salmon was good, and the forbidden rice was decent. We then had the toasted almond espresso cake with vanilla ice cream which was delicious, maybe a tad bit dry. Very enjoyable atmosphere music wasn't too loud. David was our waiter. He was amazing. Fried pickles (best I've had the coating is not like any other coating it doesn't flake off) the drink the Mayan was fresh purée mango and tequila (so good that after leaving went back after a walk and had another) 3 soup trio (French onion, crab bisque, and beef vegetable- all were out of this world good) the Italian beef sandwich with fresh giardiniera and melted mozz on an amazing roll. I've only ever heard good things about this restaurant and I can agree it is GOOD! The Russian roulette martini had great flavor and alcohol ratio. They infuse their own liquors so the drink menu is always changing which is cool! For apps the short rib ravioli was my favorite! The cream sauce it came in was so rich! My meal was the primavera pasta. It came out super hot and ready. I do wish it had more shrimp in it, but the vegetables and pasta was cooked perfectly. It's on the pricier side but makes for a perfect fancy date night or happy hour spot. My only complaint is that I wanted more food! read more

Three of us enjoyed lunch at the Twisted Olive on a weekday. We had three meals, three non-alcoholic beverages and a soup, which cost about $70. The service was very good: friendly and attentive. The food was all very tasty, and arrived quickly. The dining room was pleasant and kept clean. Our only disappointments: 1. The restaurant ran out of the one of the soups which we had ordered, and 2. They charged me for a refill on my ice tea. The only mystery about this place to me is why they only have a 4 star average on Yelp. All of our food was delicious. (Steak on a stone, Ribeye, Barramundi, Callamaretti Pasta). Nick was very attentive to drinks and made sure we we refilled as needed. We had a wonderful espresso cake for dessert after dinner (with a birthday candle!). It was a great night. They have indoor and outdoor dining, a good wine list and mixed drinks. Can't give it a 5* but I would definitely give it a 4.5. Came in for Mother's day with my wife and kids. It was strange that the place was open but it seemed like it was an off day. In actuality they don't open on Sunday except 2 times a year one of which we apparently visited. The place has very nice casual atmosphere, bar where you can watch sports if you want to and a restaurant with innovative cuisine presentation if I ever saw one. This Mother's day was a pretty dreary weather wise and pretty cold, which made it a good day to have some soup which Crab Bisque and French Onion soup had hit the spot just right. And steaks for all of the meatatarians in our family. My husband and I had dinner her last night for the first time. Note I fully looked into the menu and reviews before dining. We ordered the French onion soup dumplings, they were good and a unique appetizer. My husband got the special ramen bowl and loved it. It goes down hill with the scallops which were highly recommended to me. All pictures I saw had 4 scallops a plate, that's what is usually standard, but there was 3 small scallops that were 2 bites each, and the last scallop was sandy. I am writing this review for an experience on this past Saturday, 12/12 when the governor just shut down indoor dining. We had originally reserved for inside dining but they called us to see if we still wanted to keep outside. We asked if they had enclosures and heat and they said yes so we kept the reservation. When we arrived we saw it was just propane heaters outside, which seemed fine. After waiting a bit, since they seemed slammed we were finally sat down at a table pretty far off in a dark corner. Propane heater was out of propane and the gentlemen said he would be right back. After 15 minutes with no return, I checked to see if we could have another seat that had a heater. The younger host said no problem, and sat us over on the patio area next to people that had multiple heaters pulled up to their table. I overheard this group next to us earlier when I was waiting to be sat in the first place and they were clearly preferred regulars. They sat them before me even though I had been waiting there and now I was seated next to them and not only did they have their heater, but also ours in the only sheltered seats available. After another 10 minutes or so with no service arriving, it started to drizzle and we had no heat. We left. I understand that the governor just shut it down and they were understaffed. Not an ideal situation. I treated all the employees with respect. I could clearly see they were understaffed, and the people working were doing their best, but management should have canceled reservations if too many were kept. They also clearly ran out of propane and letting your preferred customers have 2 heaters, is a bit of a bad showing. Its a shame, food seemed good. read more

My family made a reservation for my birthday. My son called to add a chair . A family member in the US military was coming in to surprise me. My son told me the restaurant was very abrupt, with an answer of No! I took it upon myself to call the next business day and spoke to the manager, expressing how I thought this was not handled in a professional manner. No other suggestions were offered the night of the reservation. The manager told me , she would speak to owner and he would reach out to me. Weeks later I have not heard from the owner. Oh boy, this place is spectacular. The food and drinks are unique and fantastic. It's located on the corner of the building with the entrance a little tucked below. Ample seating inside and I believe a few outside. Nice cozy bar and well decorated. They infuse many types of liquor and offer a variety of mixed drinks. Bartenders and waitresses are very nice and tentative. The food is spectacular. The octopus is amazing and a must try. The steak and lamb is also a must try. I wish it stayed open a little longer on the weekends. All in all, I would recommend this establishment 100%. read more
