Wonderful little place, very friendly owners and great service. We had different shrimp dishes and all of them were wonderful and cooked to perfection. Went there on a whim, and after eating there I would make it a destination. We had the shrimp, the po boy and the shrimp quesadilla. They were all excellent. Shrimp were very lightly breaded and the cocktail sauce complimented well. The shrimp in the quesadilla were seasoned perfectly and the po boy did not disappoint. If you are a fan of Brussel sprouts theses were cooked perfectly, crispy with a nice char. And then you should get the chowder again good and well balanced. In short eat here. read more

To start, the service was great. The guys working were friendly and had great suggestions (don't sleep on those fried Brussels sprouts!). The food came quickly and was fresh, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious! My husband got the fried shrimp and was beyond happy with it. (He hasn't stopped talking about them. Ha!) The kids got the chicken tenders. My girl ate them up while my boy kept stealing shrimp off his dad's plate. ;-) My grilled shrimp tacos were SO GOOD. The mango salsa was perfect with them. I swear I could eat that every day! (I skipped the sauce that comes with it because I'm not a mayo fan.) Cute outdoor seating, but we were looking for some cooler temps so we opted for indoors. The food and service was so good! Sad I didn't get a photo, but the shrimp rice bowl was delicious. We came in late - just before "closing" and the waiter brought us in with no hassle. The chef was very friendly but they allowed us to eat without rush. The restaurant has a dive feel and is a little kitchsy, but we loved the vibe. Will definitely come back on our next trip to the Keys! read more

Best restaurant on Islamorada Key! What's not to love when you can enjoy the freshest seafood, perfectly prepared, and served by the friendliest folks around? The atmosphere is buzzing with fun, offering both inside and outside dining options. I wish I lived closer, but whenever I'm in the area, this is my go-to spot. If you're browsing through restaurants to stop by in the area, this is the one. We just had the most magical time here! The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. Crab cakes seasoned to perfection with fresh crunchy veggies and the BEST coconut shrimp. The desserts are wonderful too. Everything is so fresh! Super cute spot inside and out, and easily accessible from the highway. They made my husband's birthday lunch so very special. The staff is kind and lovely. They extend great care to every detail of their business and it shows. It's our first day in the Keys in a very long time and we felt so warmly welcomed back here. read more

4 stars. Not because of what we ate...but because what we came for was not available. Two other couples besides us came for the shrimp and grits. But there were no grits. Shrimp LOOK amazing. Had the Spicy Rice Bowl with blackened Mahi and Grilled Pineapple Salsa. It was EXCELLENT. Beer unavailable (no license yet) but allowed us to bring in our own at no charge. Hole in the wall atmosphere...excellent wait staff and friendly cook. Flatware...need a higher quality plastic utensil. No sour cream for the quesadilla. read more

YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. The food is great! Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had! The service is quick and friendly. Spend the money. The only thing that needs improvement is mosquito management. The indoor space is small so if you are unfortunately stuck outside, be sure you are slathered in mosquito spray or stickers. Bathe in it. The mosquitos are heavy here. read more

We were so happy to see that Twisted Shrimp was open this weekend during our quick trip to the keys. Gluten free breaded shrimp with fries and roumalade sauce continues to be my favorite. Wonderful experience. Typical Keys restaurant, unassuming from the outside and simple and small inside with BIG food taste cooked up by Chef Carlos and served by Simon with a friendly smile and helpful suggestions. We had the shrimp basket, shrimp Po' Boy and sides of Brussels sprouts, which are outstanding. The shrimp delicately coated and expertly cooked. Easy to overcook shrimp but these were perfect. What a wonderful place! The food is delicious and the service is friendly and impeccable. My husband is celiac and the menu here is full of gluten-free options! They have a dedicated fryer so we were able to enjoy breaded shrimp, fish, and French fries. The fish dip and Brussels sprouts were also delicious (and GF!). You won't be disappointed. We enjoyed sitting outside under the lights. If visiting the area, this should be a must visit establishment for lunch or dinner. read more

This place was hands down top food spots on the way down to key west, top 1 for me just cause of their crab cake! They have all the seafood you'll be craving in the keys, it's fresh, it's not tooooo pricey and it's delicious. Def top 3 places for crab cakes I've ever been too, shrimp was delicious too, they got beer for some good vibes and key lime pie for a happy sweet ending. Def recommend and wish i were down south more to eat here! read more

We come to Islamorada every July, for the month. I feel like we've tried every restaurant. Today, we discovered this hidden gem. This place is AMAZING!!!! Best tuna nachos in Islamorada, hands down. No smile, No congeniality, Little eye contact, Did Not listen and I had to repeat myself. The reception we received would have made us turn around and go somewhere else, if I hadn't had so many recommendations. OK, now the reasons why I have given them 5 stars. We were quoted a 45 minute wait (about 7:30pm on Tuesday night) but luckily some bar stools opened up AS SOON as we walked in and so we sat at the bar (they offered their full menu), and Fernando, who was EXTREMELY busy, greeted us with a smile and very pleasant demeanor. He prepared our drinks, which were delicious. Right next to him and working the 'Service Bar' was the Manager on Duty: Lauren. She was very pleasant and engaged with us whenever she had the opportunity. She even helped us with menu suggestions, unfortunately, we spoke about one of their nightly specials, the Shrimp Piccata with Gnocchi, but they were sold out when we tried to order it with Fern. So we had a great experience at the bar, and here's the food review; -Fried Whole Yellowtail. Delicious! Presented like a picture and cooked perfectly! Loved the sauce, Pico, Jasmine Rice & Fried tostones. -Citrus/Beet Salad with Whipped Goat Cheese, Quinoa, Nuts, Arugula tossed in a light vinaigrette. All I can say: "Empty Plate Club"...DELICIOUS!! -Now the BEST plate: PEI Mussels. THIS WAS THE BEST PREPARATION OF MUSSELS-I HAVE EVER HAD! The mussels were fresh but the sauce was a "Mic Drop"!!! I split the mussel shell in half, and scooped the mussel shell into the AMAZING sauce and ate it like I was slurping a fresh oyster! After the mussels were finished I ate the rest of the sauce WITH A FORK!!! The sauce was delicious, thick, with garlic and hot spice. I attacked the plate and forgot to take a picture...sorry! We ended our meal with a tasty piece of delicious Key Lime Pie. GREAT EXPERIENCE AND RECOMMEND AND WILL COME BACK!!! Lauren, great job, the place ran clean, efficient and professional!

My little guy devoured his pancake breakfast. The kids pancake was huge and came with bacon, his favorite. My husband got the slam and enjoyed it, especially the French toast. Our server was Lexy. She was so friendly and accommodating to our little one. He was so happy the entire meal, which doesn't always happen with a toddler. The house special "Chateaubriand for two" ($140) is a 22 oz beef tenderloin grilled over our open flame, forest vegetables and mashed potatoes is sliced tableside and as good as any steak I have every had. Even the butterscotch bread pudding ($14) is as good as Gordan Ramsay's version. Don't hesitate to go here....and I am sure it will get crowded in season, so reservations will probably be needed. Of course the locals will sit at the bar, but that is out secret.
